Post by: Jeanne Lee on April 09, 2009, 08:36:51 PM

PHOTOBUCKET

First, be sure your pictures comply with the requirements for posting on Christian Photographers.  Photos may be no more than 700 pixels on the longest side with a file size no more than 160.0 KB

You will find instructions for resizing with Paint Shop Pro (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8288.0), ShrinkPictures (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8291.0) or IrfanView (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8290.0) in this folder.

1.  Go to http://www.photobucket.com and click on "Join now"

(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fseniorsandfriends.org%2Fgallery%2FJeanne%2Fphotobucket%25201.jpg&hash=1fcfbeadd6edc398e2d911a3c515c56f40ef841b)

2.  Choose a "User Name" and password that you will remember and enter them in the blocks, then click on "Next Step"

3.  When this page opens, click on "Choose Files" and browse your computer until you find the picture you want, click on it and then on "Open" if necessary.

4.  The photo will load, showing a thumbnail of the picture you uploaded.  Click on "Return to Album".

5.  Under the picture you have chosen are choices for the code to post the picture.  Click on the one that says "IMG Code" and the code will be highlighted.  Click on Edit>Copy or hit Ctrl-C on your keyboard.

6.  In Christian Photographers, go to the page where you want to post the photo, click on the Reply Button.

7.  Click on the second icon in the middle row.  The code for images will appear in the reply box with your cursor blinking between the two parts.  Click on Edit>Paste or hit Ctrl-V on your keyboard.

Hint:  It is a good idea to click first on "Preview" and scroll up to be sure you have entered the picture you want, then scroll back down and click on "Post".

Your picture will now be showing on Christian Photographers.

Great walkthrough, thanks for taking the time to create and share it.

I'd be interested in hearing (and maybe this would be better for another topic - I don't want to hijack your thread) what others use and prefer to upload their photos.  I'm on a Mac and I use the Flickr uploader, it's drag and drop and has all the benefits of flickr.  One annoyance with flickr however is their is no way to quickly grab BB code to post in forums - this is something Photobucket does perfectly.
