Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Yesterday I was intrigued with the sky and the snow.  Here are some shots I took.

Lake Nipissing had a strong blustery wind yesterday.  This is one of the snow scenes.

I was entranced by the sky, these are some of them. The dark "squares" are ice huts.  They will be gone off the lake in about a month.

It was interesting that the snow was on only one side of the trees.  the wind had cleared most however these were unusual (to me).

Despite all our cold weather this stream is still running free!

I really like these photos, Judy ... Looks like a cold day, though.  That's the way I enjoy snow ... in pictures!!   ;D  The sky and clouds intrigue me, as well.  I like the view of the road through the trees.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Don

Thanks for sharing the snow photos Judy, looks very cold to me. I'm with Jane on this one though, I like my snow in photos.

I guess the ice huts are for fishing? What are they made of?

Great photos, Judy.  Thanks for sharing.  I wish I could say I'll take my snow by way of pictures, but I'm afraid that's not the case.   :(

The ice huts are made of wood or steel and are sitting on long blades, much like long skate blades, thicker though, they also have wood stoves in them to keep the occupants warm!  They are for ice fishing.

Thank you for the comments!

Jeanne Lee

I don't have any photos of snow in open areas, as Judy does, but I do have a couple from here in the trailer park that shows what we've been getting.

This is across the road from my front door.  They came in with a front end loader and moved some that had been plowed and was blocking a driveway access to this spot away from any driveway.

This is a pile across the road and off to the right of my front door.

And this is another of the front end loader piles.  This one was smoothed and worked on by a teen age boy who lives in that trailer.

Wow that is a lot of snow Jeanne.  I'm glad they moved some of it away.

Wonderful photos from both of you!

Great pics by everyone. Don the ice huts are for fishing and are generally made of light froame wood construction so they can be pulled on and off the ice by snow mobile

Great pictures of the winter we have been having.

Jeanne Lee:  The picture of the pile of snow beside the road reminds me of a time at approx 40 or so yrs ago when at my MIL's there was a pile of snow beside the then Hwy 11 and yes our children plus the other children in the area had a great time playing.  At that time it was the major hwy going (no bypass) through  town I think that the drivers took much more care way back then and also the children were also on the look out for danger.

Judy & Jeanne Lee thanks for sharing.

Also what John did not mention was that some ice hut operators have huts that are fitted out like a cottage  and for a large fee they can and are rented for weekends or even longer depending on the weather of course.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Janet

I really enjoyed the snow pictures, and it reminds me of how long it's been since we had a really good snowfall.  We need the moisture so badly!  It was supposed to snow here last night, but....well, it's 3 AM, I couldn't sleep, so am here now, and really haven't looked out to see if we got any snow.  It's been miserably cold here for a couple of days.  Oh, well.

Anyway, Judy and Jeanne, thanks for sharing your wonderful photos!

Janet, at the point I'm not sure if I would consider any snow a "good snowfall"!     But I understand you wanting some for the benefit of the moisture.   ;)  Glad you enjoyed looking at mine and Judy's, anyway.
