Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I found this joke on SN. Thought it was cute.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday." Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral. The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about half an inch tall - bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office. She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

The bank manager looks back at her and says, "It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

You went for a scooter ride I hear. What fun! You be careful. I want  a scooter to ride around in, but then I would have to get one for all of us.

Hello Everyone

We had a big snow (only 2 ½ inches) this morning.  We only get snow about once every 5 years.  That is enough for me.  It is expected to leave by tomorrow.  It sure is pretty just to sit inside and look out at it, but I get cabin fever very easily.  ;D ;D

Pat  Thank you for the devotion this morning, concerning love.  It is in that theme that I share with you all here the following.

There is much talk about the Movie The Passion of Christ.  We had an article on it in today's paper.  They had asked a Rabbi, a member of the local Islamic Society and the Pastor of my Church their opinions.

I thought my Pastor best answered it when he said;

"I don't bear a shred of animosity toward my Jewish friends because of the death of Jesus.  I don't blame the Roman soldiers for the death of Jesus either—they were doing a tough job in a troubled land."

"Who killed Jesus?  I did.  It was my sin that caused Him to die."

Later in the interview Pastor Dykes said; "Mel Gibson makes a cameo appearance in "The Passion," but you never see his face, only his hands.  He is the one driving the nails into Christ.  He wanted to communicate his personal responsibility for Christ's death."

"If you see the movie, I pray that you'll be able to see beyond the pain and experience the Passionate Love that God has for you."

Have a very nice day and remember on this Valentine day.
O How He Loves You And Me.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Can anyone tell me why, when we have so many, (literally thousands) of beautiful hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs in our history, we insist on singing the same ones over and over Sunday by Sunday?  Praising in vain repetition must be wearisome to our Lord, it certainly is to me, but I guess He has more patience!
Is it me?

Thank you Zachery for the beautiful card. I love it and you. Good photo of you too. I am coming for my hug.

I hope you teens don't mind but I  just came from checking out the folders especially for you. What a great place to express your thoughts and the moderators are wonderful Christian people who have only your interests at heart.

To the Moderators of the Teen Rooms I know you will do a great job for our kids. Thanks for the additional rooms to CP.

Chris, it definitely is NOT just you.  I agree 100%

I think that we should have a challenge in here sometime to post only hymns that are 100 years old or older!  What a feast we'd have!

Marilyn, thanks!   I agree that the Teen Rooms will be good once we get the teens posting in there.  We have great moderators in there for them.

Now...

For Jenny...

In Christ There is no East or West[/u]
(Click to hear music]

Words by William A. Dunkerley, 1908

Many shall come from the east and west,
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac,
and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 8:11

In Christ there is no East or West,
In Him no South or North;
But one great fellowship of love
Throughout the whole wide earth.

In Him shall true hearts everywhere
Their high communion find;
His service is the golden cord,
Close binding humankind.

Join hands, then, members of the faith,
Whatever your race may be!
Who serves my Father as His child
Is surely kin to me.

In Christ now meet both East and West,
In Him meet North and South;
All Christly souls are one in Him
Throughout the whole wide earth.

Thank you dear sister Pat and I almost didn't pop in  tonight..The Lord knew!

"Who serves My Father as His child.
Is surely kin to me."  Amen

There's one hymn I haven't noticed on C.P.:-

"Who would true valour see
Let him come hither..
One here would constant be..
Come wind come weather.
There's no discouragement
Shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent
To be a Pilgrim."

John Bunyan 1628-88.

there are two more verses and of course this hymn is well over 100 years old...We sang this at my Girl's  secondary modern  school regularly.

Nearly my bedtime.  10.45 p.m. so I shall wish you all Goodnight or Good evening.
God Bless.
Love Jenny.

Wooohooo... 6 months?  Did I get it right?

Chandraya just got done with dance.  It is really coming along.  I wish you all could see her perform.

Troy took 12th place out of the 4A conference.  Not bad for being his first year.  A lot of kids don't make it to the conference, so he is doing great.  Mom is very proud!

Gillette Camels (which is his team) won the conference for the 1st time in 5 years.  They were all jazzed.  The team went to Applebee's for a celebration.

The coach had told Troy last night after Troy swam the 200 freestyle, "I remember two months ago when you first started, I thought you were going to drowned." LOL...hahhahhaa....I thought that was so funny.  The coach also stated that "there's very few kids who come on the team their first year and do as well as he has."

I am so proud of him.  ;D

I am going outside to play with the kids.  Have a good afternoon.

Yes, the answer is SIX MONTHS!

Luke 1:

26   And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27   To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28   And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Chris, You bring up an interesting question.

Your question, brought to mind another question.

What will we be singing in Heaven?

We will be there with all the Saints of olden days.  We will be there with all the Saints of modern days.  We will be there (unless the Lord come soon) with all the future Saints. :) :)

As far as worship here on earth our church has tried to reach some middle ground.  We have an excellent Orchestra, which by the way not many churches had in the past.  We have an excellent choir.  Our congregation is made up of young people, middle age people and old people.

Which is the make up of most all churces, grin.  ;D ;D

Our music Minister is very good at mixing the songs that fit into the Pastor's Sermon.

I myself love the old songs and I also love the praise songs.  In fact I feel closer to the spirit of God in worship with praise songs.

Just my personal feelings.  :) :)

Psalm 33:3 Sing a new song of praise to him, play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
Proverb 3:5-6
