Could be up in Yorkshire, its very nice, I like to see pictures with a limited tonal range like this, there is just so much rich detail for your eyes to take in as well as the wonderful group of icicles clinging to the river bank. Now if I was you I would have gone over to the other bank and chopped up that dead tree, I'm just trying to work out whether it adds or detracts from the scene, not that there's anything you can do about it. At first it seemed to dilute the impact of the icicles, but then it is an attractive shape in itself and actually gives weight to the bottom of the picture and the more you look at it, it does aid the whole composition of the scene. Now after studying the picture do you notice the Z shape in the picture? The upper branch connects with the downward sloping line of the bank, then completes the Z with the lower branch. A calendar shot for sure.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

The sun was setting quickly when I was taking this picture.  It was off the icicles soon after I took this shot.  Next time I shall arrive earlier and call you, Michael, to come and chop up that dead tree for me!   I wish I would have had the time and daylight left to get to a different angle for another shot excluding it, but on the other hand, I don't think the image would have the same impact without it.  It would be nice to be able to compare and have the choice, though.
