Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

This is a beautiful shot.  Where is Snake River Canyon?

It looks so big and so barren then there is the water of the river , gives us a look at some of the seasons of life.  So long we thurst in barren times only to find the living water was there all along!

Thanks so much.

The Snake River winds through southern Idaho.  There are several places where there are canyons as it winds its way through the state.  The part in the picture is south western Idaho about 15 minutes from where I live.  It's like our own little (?) Grand Canyon.  It's about 500-600ft to the river below.

I'm posting another shot of it with a wider angle.  You will see the close up within this other shot.  If you've seen my shot of Swan Falls Dam at Night, you will see part of that dam in the upper left corner of the close up picture-but just barely.  It's also in this picture at the far end of the river, but again, just barely.  We have to drive about another 15 minutes or so to get to where I took the night time picture.  Sometimes we go down on the dirt road (visible in this shot) and shoot the birds and wildlife from down below.  And, it's a whole other feeling from a jet boat actually on the river.  (maybe I'll post one of those, too)

I agree with you about the barreness of the place.  There were many bones up by the cliffs where I took these pictures.  (I took pictures of those, too and they are crying out for scriptures to accompany them)  We stayed there all the way until after sunset and it was so beautiful to see the light changing as we sat there.  It was dry and barren and yet the water was there and I could see God's handiwork and hear it as we saw the birds of prey soar over head and heard them crying out.  God loves the birds of the air and provides for them as He does for us, even in our season of barren wasteland...if we will truly seek Him we will find Him.

I agree with Marilyn, Kathleen - these are great shots.  I've wanted to see the Snake River Canyon for years and years.  All the time we lived in Oregon (22 years) we never got over there.  I've driven by the north end of it when I've gone over to eastern Washington and Oregon and on accross east as well, but, still, never down there.  So thank you!  Where exactly do you live?

That is another beautiful picture.

It gives the WOW feeling.  I love your explaination as well.

I have had many times of the barenness, and through it all there was the river of life sustaining me.

I sure would like to see some of the other ones you took that day.

Well, here's another picture of the Snake River Canyon, only this time it's eastern Idaho at Twin Falls.  We went to Malad for the Welsh Festival where our girls performed Irish Dance and we stopped here on our way home.  Not a great time of day for taking photos, but that's when we were driving through so I was stuck with it.  Enjoy!
