Title: Texas Bluebonnet scene made Flickr "Explore" today
Post by: wondershots on August 23, 2013, 08:44:28 AM
I folks. For the 2nd time in the last two weeks I had an image make the daily Flickr "Explore" page. This is only the third time in over six years posting on Flickr. This image was actually taken in April 2004 with the original Canon Digital Rebel camera. I reprocessed it yesterday with some newer software tools than I had then and reposted to Flickr. I like this version better.

If you're not from Texas you may not know that Bluebonnets are the Texas flower and they generate a lot of excitement around here for a few weeks in the spring. They don't always produce much (they depend a lot on Fall rain) and they don't stick around for long. Spring 2004 was a great year. This is an old abandoned rock house in the "Hill Country" area west of Austin north of a town called Marble Falls. I got there right before sunrise and caught it when the light was magical.
