This is a photo of my friends Molly (from Australia) and Nathan (from Seattle) canoeing into the Nightmare River on our canoe journey through the Florida Everglades. The Nightmare is infamous for being passable only at high tide and only in a canoe or kayak. The overhanging vegetation and thick swarms of bugs and potential for meeting an alligator make it one of the more treacherous rivers. Add to that the fact that many of the signs marking the correct route are hard to find or not existent and taking the wrong route would lead us to the Wood River- a river even more hazardous than the Nightmare. I was in the bow of my own canoe, and I don't know how many times I ducked under an obstacle at the very last second without getting hit, hiding in the space in front of my legs and coming up laughing every time.

Very Nice!
This one would be a good photo for the current Challenge.
Lovely scenery, but you couldn't get me into one of those canoes. :)
Nice shot. I've been in canoes before but I don't think I would be in a canoe in water that could have alligators in it.
