Couldn't walk far this afternoon, legged myself up with the electric blanket flex on Saturday, it pulled my knee, and its sore and stiff, but, managed to get down to Leigh in Greater Manchester, light was marvelous. First shot I took was from the road bridge over the canal, looking down onto the Bridgewater canal looking along its length there was some lovely strong reflections of the canal side buildings in water.

The next shot I went under the road to get a close up view of the Waterside inn, as the late afternoon light looked attractive on this old converted loading wharf, everything looked so relaxed and peaceful, but it was chilly.

As I say, the reflections in the canal were delightful.

And finally, my favourite shot in this little travelogue, is this very long view of the buildings looking towards the distant spinning mill, the sun reddened everything, the light on the birch trees was a particularly attractive feature of the whole setting.

And lastly a close up view of that canal side crane used now for lifting a wooden gate into the canal so it can be drained for maintenance.
