Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Proverbs 3:12

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

Job 5:17,18

This is a very important aspect of our relationship to God. Those whom God loves he disciplines. We can go through some very painful experiences all because God is our Father. But if we are without discipline then we are evidently not His children. Read Hebrews 12 on this.

Lord help us to appreciate this and to learn from it

Thanks for this, Ken....  Oh, so true...

I've been thinking much on this lately.

Those whom the Lord loves he disciplines.

He openeth their ear to discipline ...if they obey and serve Him they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.  If they obey not they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge."  Job 36:10-12.

Yes Pat.  Our Heavenly Father's discipline brings the best reward. Amen.

Thank-you.

Jenny.

The writer to the Hebrews said, "Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peacable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."  I'll bet Joni Eareckson learned that verse well!  We must often say, "But God - it hurts!"  Sometimes it even hurts beyond what we ever could have imagined that God would send upon us.  It is just here, though, that we have to learn to trust our heavenly Father.  As Paul said, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with themptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."  The word "temptation," here, is better translated "trial."  Read with that understanding, the apostle is telling us that the common trials of the world often come upon us - they seem extraordinary to us at the time, but they are just the ones that are found throughout the world.  Besides, God is faithful (that means we can trust Him) - He will not send us more than we can bear, though it may seem otherwise at the time.  "The way of escape" that He provides is just Himself  and our trust in His wisdom, mercy, and grace.  As the man said, "Grace groweth best in winter."  God knows better than we do what we can bear.  And the results, finally, will be good.

Oh, dear Al,

Such an inspiring post.

Thanks for sharing,

Love in Christ,

What I (we?) need to learn is that we can trust Him to know to send just the right amount.

Pat

Amen, Al!  What a good little discussion this has been.  I really enjoy these.
