JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Here's a link for reading through the Bible in a year using the "Subject" method...

Subject Bible Reading Plan[/b]

There's a link to choose the version of the scripture that you like best!

There's a link also to Adobe Acrobat so that you can print it out on one sheet of paper that will easily fit into your Bible.

If you are just starting out reading the Bible through in a year, just start at Week 1 and you'll be finished next year at this time!

Hey there, PAT!  I'm just stopping by to mark my place for next time, okay?  See y'all later...

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

Great to see you, Jane!  This topic has been very lonely since April.   ;D

Hi ...  I was up early this morning and was sitting here with my tea and Bibles and enjoying the morning.  I read the scheduled reading for today--2 Cor. 9-10-- then went on over to Galatians and began reading in the Message. It really pointed out so much, and in such a clearly "understandable" way, along the lines that I've been discussing with my friends and pastors lately.  Nita called me late last night and said she'd been reading in Galatians.  I think that's what prompted me to "check it out."

In both these passages Paul is teaching and warning against allowing anyone bring in "a different message" than the one revealed to him and that he had preached ever since.  Also, just because someone comes along with eloquent words and soothing voice, they may not have the true message of the gospel.  We shouldn't be enticed away by that.

I'm not phrasing this correctly, but I really do know what I feel and believe .... even if I can't articulate it! ::)

My sister (in Missouri) called me this morning so I was interrupted from my intentions to be here until now.

I'll be back later ... count on it!    ;)

Hi whoever sees this - It looks like this thread is kinda lonesome!

I am still reading by subject, and this morning the reading was "history" in I Chronicles.  Tomorrow will be the Psalms, my favorite.  Is it OK to have favorites?  Oh my, it is hard to digest Law and History.  I read them and then reread, sometimes, to try to understand the relevance for today.

Well, folks, we are 2/3rds finished with the 'Read the Bible Through' for this year! Hard to believe it is September already.

Later.....Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Hi Janice!

Great to see you posting in here.  I'm not sure who else is reading the "Subject" way of reading through the scriptures but so happy that you are still enjoying doing it.

Keep posting, Janice!

Thought it seems a bit quiet in here today....Well poor Pat is at the dentist.

Hope I'm in the right place this time.  Still keep taking the wrong turning!

I am really enjoying my Bible Reading Since I changed over to ENCOUNTER WITH GOD, (Scripture Union).

This Month's subject is 1 KINGS.

Todays Reading was 1 KINGS 12:1-24 .
The notes aptly describe the split between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.  I never quite grasped it before.....
I tend to read on a few days now as it is so enjoyable.
Ross Pilkington is doing the notes.

Hi Jenny...  Just thought you sounded lonely in here!

I'm back on track now with my reading of going through the Bible from the beginning but much of it I really skimmed over too quickly I'm afraid.  I got way behind while I was driving my neighbour daily to the hospital.

I'll try to do better next year.

I have printed out the 52 week schedule and will get started catching up....thanks Pat.

Pat

How are you doing, Liz?

Doesn't matter what scheme we use as long as we feel comfortable.  I'm trying to keep on schedule.

I am behind in my reading.  Have had some health problems and things are a little off schedule.  Will spend time on Sunday trying to play catch-up.
