Hello!  I'm Janet, and I live in Southwest Kansas with my husband Darrel, and a cat and a dog.

I have been a Christian since the age of 17, and find there are always new things to learn, and new ways to grow in the Lord.  The Bible is new and fresh every time we open it.

I'm the moderator of Precious Bible Promises, where we are building a resource of Scriptures applying to certain subjects.  I invite you to come there and post your favorite verses in the subject area where they fit.

My hobbies include oil painting, photography, scrapbooking, swimming, traveling and scuba diving.

Come in and tell us about YOU! ;D

Hi, I'm Al, and I live in McKinleyville, Calif. on the north coast.  After a long siege, God overpowered my soul in 1958, and now I belong to Him.  My wife, Marbeth, and myself are members of Sunnybrae Church in Arcata, CA.  Yes, I'm responsible for the studies in the Psalms and in Mark on this site, so problems can be blamed on me!  But problems or no problems, please come on in to those forums and learn of the Lord and fellowship with others doing the same.

I'm Gregg and I live in San Dimas, California (about a half an hour south east of Los Angeles) where I am studying commerical & fine art photography. I have been a christian since I was a small child (at like 4 if I remember correctly) but backslid and am trying to get my life back in order with God.

I have been attending Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California with a service called The Bridge which is geared towards people in the arts & entertainment industry and I really love it. It has been great to find fellowship with like minded people.

Look forward to getting to know you all!!

Etta Sue

Hi, I am Etta Sue.  I am a retired widow living near the small town of Lapel, Indiana.  I love photography with my favorite subjects being my two cats, Ali and Inky.  Also I capture lots of sunsets and sunrises since I moved to the country a couple of years ago.

I am an infant Christian and was baptized at Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield, IN, in 1998.  I love reading the Word and growing spiritually.  It still amazes me that God's Word still fits our lifestyles of today.

On Christian Photographers, I am moderator over the recipes.  I invite you to take a look at them.  There are really some good cooks on this site.  I look forward to seeing you share some of your recipes with us.

It really makes my heart smile to see newbies posting.  We are family here.  We pray together, laugh together and cry together.  And occasionally have some great photos to ooh and aah over. :) :)

Nita

Hi.  I'm Nita.  I live in Oregon, on the Oregon coast, and am blessed to live here.  I never get tired of the ocean, and even the rain. :)

The Lord rescued me when I was 41 years old.  I'm 62 now.  I had come to a place in my life where it seemed the most reasonable thing for me to do would be to kill myself.  I drank a lot, so did my husband, was depressed constantly, and had such an ache in my heart that I couldn't bear it any longer.  I didn't know God......but "knew" He expected us to be "good" and I wasn't.  I was even afraid to pray, because if I did, He'd notice me...and I didn't want Him to see me.  Ever been there?

One night in silent desperation, I gave up.  I said quietly, "God, I don't know if you even want me.  But if you do.....please take my life (meaning I'm in your hands now), or I will take it myself."  I was serious, and so was the Lord.    I won't go into my testimony, but I was taken into our Beloved Lord's Kingdom that very night and have never known such love.  I have failed Him since, but He's never failed me.

I found Christian Photography through a friend, and though I don't post often, I'm here.  I would really like to get to know you and what brought you to the Lord, and where you are in your love for photography.

I love to sing for Him, and to Him. Also I  want my photography to express so much, and that's why I'm here; to  learn.  I'm not doing near enough photography, and sort of got discouraged because I wasn't creating what my heart saw......but I sure want to see YOUR photography!

Please let us get to know you.     :)

Judy McKenna

Hi., I'm Judy., and I live in Ontario, Canada,  I am married to Norm, (who is a new Christian)., for the past 45 years., mother of two, grandmother of 5.  I accepted the Lord as a teenager, but certainly didn't always live for Him. :(

I don't take many photographs, simply because I don't own a decent camera...LOL., I'm hoping that will change soon! 8)

I love visiting with you here on C.P., and love admiring all your photographs.

Please come and join us here, may we be a blessing to you, and you to us. :D

Jeanne Lee

My turn?

I'm Jeanne and I live in northern New York State, in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains with my wonderful husband of 14 years, whom I met after the death of my first husband.   I'm 72 and he's nearly 76 (in March) and we are cherishing the time we have left to love our Lord and each other.  Our marriage has been just about perfect and we affirm daily that it's due to the fact that Jesus is always the center of our home.

I joined Christian Photographers soon after its "birth" on the invitation of a dear "cyber" friend and have enjoyed seeing its steady growth ever since.

Ruthie

Hi I'm Ruthie from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  I became a Christian when I was a child.   Jesus is very real to me and I love Him with all my heart.  I have 4 children and 14 grandchildren.   I go to the The Peoples Church, Toronto that was founded by Oswald J. Smith 75 years ago and I have been involved in Evangelism Explosion for 18 years where I teach Level 2 at present.   I am also available to counsel on Sundays.    I got involved with Christian Photographers a few months ago and enjoy the fellowship of other believers and the stimulating & challenging devotionals every day.   I take good pictures but do not have a scanner, so Pat usually puts my pictures on CP for me.  I have found that Christian Photographers is a real blessing from the Lord.

God Bless

nards656

Hey!  I'm Bernard, though I usually answer to "Nard", which when combined with my last initial and the numbers of my street address, yields "nards656".

I'm somewhere around 35 or 36 years old, married to Karma (karmat), and the Daddy of Travis, the coolest kid alive.

I love to play guitar and piano, and every now and then I do some photography.  Photography has been a thing I've done for many years, and I really enjoy it, but my creative passion is music.

I've been a Christian for almost 25 years now, and it has been a cool, wild, amazing journey.  I attended Pensacola Christian College, where I experienced some of the most rebellious years of my life.  I have found my basic calling in life to be music directed at youth/college age people.  However, I also find fun and happiness in playing for calmer people as well.

Nuff about me!  How about you?
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Check out my blog at www.bernardshuford.com.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am Larry and live East of Atlanta, Georgia in a little town.  I will soon be 63 years old and have been retired for 8 years.  I had to retire early due to many heart problems but am doing well now.
I have a wonderful wife, Pat, and two grown children.

I accepted Jesus Christ at a fairly young age in our very small country church.  For many years my wife and I have belong to the Presbyterian church.  I am active in my church choir and I play the piano.  I do some volunteer work involving teaching seniors to use the computer and playing for and leading singing at the adult day care center at our church.

I am really not much of a photographer but have a Sony Mavica.  However, I find I do not have to be deeply into photography to get a great deal from the devotional material and fine friendships and support we have on this website.

We live & FREEZE in Wayne, Michigan...the thaw is starting though.  We have lived here most all of our lives & like it...else we woulda moved.

I am 63 years old, my wife Donna to who (or is it whom) I been married to for nearly 44 years (7/01).  We have four grown children and 13 grandchildren, which will be increased by 3 when our youngest marries this June.

I met my B.W. (beautiful wife) in high school and we married early and started a family early.

For the first 12 years of our marriage, I was not a Christian.  But thanks to the Billy Graham Crusade in Sept 1972, I was re-introduced to HIM.  I know, I know...He never really left me.

I enjoyed 35 years working as a Metal Model Maker @ FoMoCo Eng & Research Center.  I was able to retire at an early age (56) because God really has blessed our family and  made it possible for me to retire so early.

We have experienced problems in our lives... my BW almost died....twice back in 1976, but she is still here.  Because of her near-death experience we have both grown very close to the Lord.

While I do not going knocking door to door to witness...I try not to let any opportunity pass me by.....I got into a little "hot water" on Senior Nets  Boots Tidbits a while back doing just that.

Because of that, Pat took it upon herself to invite me to this site.  Though I do not contribute much, I have been made to feel welcome and I enjoy checkin in on you most every day.

We can all share of His Blessings on our lives and what He has done for us.  I try to share that with others...especially unsaved members of my family.

Nuff said!

Hello.  I am Jenny. I live in England. I will be 60 this year.

I am a Christian and was baptised as a Born Again Believer on 18th June 1988., although I was confirmed into the Anglican Church many years ago., All part of my journey. I am still "in the race".

I have two grown children,Christopher 31 and Helen 34 and four lovely grandsons.

I also have a dear little Yorkshire terrier, Sunday dog and two lovely long haired black cats, Becky and Pushkin.

Pat invited me over to share on this site some months ago, although I am not a photographer.  I do sometimes send a few pictures of this vicinity and some pics of my family to Pat and she, bless her posts them up for me.

This is a lovely site and since I came to it, I no longer browse the web.  I find such a loving fellowship here that it is not necessary. I enjoy the Devotionals and it is good to be able to pray with folks and to share our ups and downs together.

Kay

I am not really new but haven't checked in here - I guess it is time.  My name is Kay, married for 50 years in April to my beloved husband Norm.  We pastored Baptist churches for many years but were also in the business world due to hubby's health problems.  I have my degree in music and taught for many years until my hearing got too bad - how I miss it!  We live on Vancouver Island off the coast of B.C.  Have four children and nine grandchildren.  I accepted the Lord as Savior when I was 15 and have served Him ever since.  In our retirement years we have gone on many short term missions projects all over the world.  This is the  most exciting thing we have ever done, we work with the local Christians as helpers and are so blessed that the Lord has allowed us to do this work.
My first camera was a Brownie box camera which I bought when I was 12 - I don't consider myself a photographer but do love to take pictures.
I am impressed by the loving spirit that I see on this site and I hope to be able to check in more often.

Iain

Well as far as I know I am the only Scot and I live in the Western Isles. I am married to Ann and have three teenagers, two boys and a girl.

I have been a Christian for over 20 years now and I am fast approaching the grand old age of 47!

I am a self employed. I turned my hobby of photography in a business and I built this website last year -  www.islandsofinspiration.com

I spend much of my time updating my personal Christian website www.applesofgold.co.uk

I spend much of my time rewriting old Christian books that are long out of print, then I add them to my website.

If I write a devotional message on Apples of Gold then I copy and paste it for the Christian Photographers site.

Well I have told you a little about myself, now I ask you to 'Come see a man that told me all things that ever I did. Is not this the Christ?'

This website is for sinners not for saints! Little wonder then that I qualify!!

LOL

God's blessings to all:

This site has been such a blessing to myself and like Jenny, I do not search the net for other places.

I have been a Christian since 1969 and am 64 years old.  I was married at a young age in 1957 and had a child each year...1958, 1959 and 1960....all boys!  The oldest boy just got married last summer at the age of 45.  They have no children.  My next son is married and has 3 children.  They live about 10 miles away.  My 3rd son passed away at the age of 33 leaving behind 2 boys.  He was addicted to alcohol and drugs..but he had confessed Jesus as his Savior before his sudden death.  In 1963 another child was added to our family and it was a girl!  She has married and has 2 children who live next door to me.  I live in a rural Southern community of Dovesville and attend a small country Baptist church.

My husband passed away in 1996.  I honestly do not know if he confessed Jesus as his Lord.  I do know that he said so when he had a nervous breakdown, but after that he did not live a life that would be pleasing to God.

I do not do the photography I should and when I do..our Pat always posts for me.

We share our prayer requests here every day and it is an inspiration just to be here.

In His love,  kathy

Heather Brunet

Hi all!

Well I am not exactly new, but I am not here very often.  So for those who do know who I am, shhhh....I would like to tell my story.

I have always liked taking pictures....although I am not what I would consider a photgrapher.

The reason why I came to CP is because my aunt is the owner of the site.  Over the last while, Aunt Pat and I have become fairly close.  It has been really nice to get to know her, as an adult.  It has been wonderful to develop the friendship that has been developing between us.

I am also the daughter of JudyB and bonesy, and the sister of Bonnie, and Doug.  My sister in law is Megan, and you have now had the opportunity to see pictures of my dear nephews, Brytan and Eli.

I became a Christian when I was 8, was baptisted when I was 10, and then fell away from the Lord when I was a teen.  I led a pretty crazy life, but finally settled down when I was 24, when I started dating my dear husband.  Jon and I got things a little backward when we first got together, in that we had a son 13 months before we got married.  When we married, I was priviledged to be able to say that I was marrying my best friend, and he still is.  We have had some difficulites in our marriage, but when we got married, we made the focus in our marriage Jesus, and what Jesus would do, and that has brought us through many of these difficulties, together.

Jon and I will have been married 6 years in Auguest, and now have 2 children together.  Johnny will be 7 in July and Kimi just turned 4.  They are my pride and joy, and there isn't a thing I wouldn't do for them.  I am the ultimate protective mother, and most people have got the message that they had better not hurt my babies, or the will have to deal with a mama bear...lol.

This is just a little tidbit on who Heather Brunet is.  Feel free to send me a private message any time, if you have any questions, comments or encouragement.

God bless you all, and remember that without HIM, we have no hope.

Love
Heather

I joined Photo World, clicked a link and guess what... became a member of this group.  I have only recently become engrossed in photography with the purchase of a Digital camera and been snapping away at everything.  I have lived in the UK now for 9 years and have always complained privately about how drab the place always seems to be, so we get out of the UK every time I get leave.  My mind has been changed as I now see England totally differently, this time through the lens of a camera.  Now it is a shame I have to go to Spain on my holidays.

Oh yes, I love Jesus, read the Bible and all the "right" books, tell others about how he changes peoples lives, I am mostly nice to people and I baptise, marry and bury them.  I have a wonderful job preaching the Gospel and pastoring a Church.  I am married to Carol and have three sons and a daughter.

Pat

Oh, Gareth!

I'm so happy to see you!  I was just admiring one of your photos on Photo-World--the one of the boat at low tide!  I love that.  I miss the sea.  I used to live in Ireland.

I'm glad you clicked the link on Photo-World.

I've just put a welcome message for you in "New Every Morning!"  Make sure you see it, Gareth!

I'm not new but since everyone interduce themselves I thought I would too.

My name is Sonja or Soni and I love taking pictures and spreading Gods word.
My hobbies are photography, dancing, drawing, hiking, biking, rock hunting and spending time with the Lord

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in my life until I picked up a camera.  I knew the very moment I stuck that digital camera in my hand that that is what I wanted to be,  "a photographer."

I am a homeschooling mom and find that very rewarding to spend time with my children and teach them as they, in turn teach me.

Growing in the Lord is what I strive to do.  I want to learn more about Him and what he has planned for me.  Each day is a blessing from Him.

If you would like to get to know me better you can check out my website at http://www.sonifopictures.com

Hope you all enjoy this site.  I have.  In the past 2 years I have done more growing with Christ and for Christ because of this site.  It has been a life changing experience for me and I pray it will do the same for all of you.

Hi, I'm Kim Goforth.  I've had an interest in photography since high school, but have only been able to really pursue the hobby in the last 4 years.

I have really had fun finding the right shot for powerpoint backgrounds, since our church now has an LCD projector.

Welcome Kim!  It's great to have you!

I hope that you'll pull up a chair and make yourself at home in our New Every Morning discussion.  You can be sure that when the folks find out we have a new member, there will be many welcome messages for you in there.

Bed time here in Guelph, Ontario but I look forward to getting to know you soon.

Lovely to meet you Kim  :) I hope you enjoy this website as much as we do.  You will find very pleasant Christian folk who will take an interest in you in this website.

In the short time that I have been visiting Christian Photographers, I have been impressed by  your expressions of  Faith, and the welcome that you have given to me. I am glad there is a Christian site like this dedicated to God's word, and am looking forward to getting to know you.

So I thank you and I  thank Pat Scott and others, who have encouraged me to join. Being a retired senior (75+), learning is a slow process now, and I will try hard to take an active part on here after learning my way around.

The Lord has been active in my life since the early days in Sunday School in a personal way and I hope that  I can learn to share with you. I hope that you will see what I am trying to say in my photos about the beauty in God's world.

Stephen

Pat

Great job, Stephen!  You did a wonderful job introducting yourself.

Now I look forward to seeing lots more posts from you.  Once you start, you just keep on posting.

lmaupin

Hello all -

My name is Larry Maupin -- will go by larrym because there already is another Larry here.

The Lord is doing great things in me - bringing me into a new understanding of his will for me and my photography. I am married with three grown children and two beautiful granddaughters. I have been a nurseryman/landscaper/horticulturist all of my life and now am photo editor/photographer for a large horticultural printing company in Dallas, Texas, USA.

I have a part time business (Maupin Photography) as a freelance garden writer/photographer and specialize in digital imaging of nature subjects. I am working with two web designers to build a professional website -- not finished yet -- www.maupinphotography.com. I use Photoshop 7.0 on my eMac and love them both, and my main camera is a Canon EOS 10D. My 35mm and medium format cameras have been idle since I got the Canon 10D.

Thanks for having this site. I have never found one quite like this. I look forward to participating as much as possible, but I wish I had more free time (don't we all.)

Blessings to you and yours,
Larry Maupin

Regular guy

Hello.

I am happy to be here. I love the Lord, and I am passionate about photography, so this is a perfect place to be. Thank you for creating it. I am from southern Indiana, and I have been a believer since 1977, and a photographer since 1988. I have seen some of the work done here, and I am very impressed by what I see.

I found this place from Pinkies club at yahoo. Unfortunately, it seems that it is gone now. But I see her work here too, so that is a blessing.

Monty, I'm so glad to see you posting!  Did I do alright with your photo?

Now, you just send me any of your photos with a little description of what you'd want to say about it and I'd be very, very happy to post them for you till we figure out a different way.  I do it for many so you won't be the only one.  And I love doing it.

Now that you've made this post, come to New Every Morning and have a coffee with us.  Of course it's cyber coffee but it's always freshly brewed or you can have tea!  LOL

Hi My name is Katherine (Kathy) Westgate.  I have also been a Christian since I was a very little girl.  As a young teenager I gave my life to the Lord and have been following Him since.  I had the privilage of having an extremely creative and talented mother who share those gift with me, passing on her love for art and beauty to me.  I have always love to capture the beauty of God's creation in my art (drawing, painting and chalk) even while I was a kid.  As an adult, I continued to enjoy those though time was limited once I had a family to take care of.  I also enjoyed photograph to a limited extent but the cost was not with in my means.  However, with the coming of age of digital photography, I have jumped in with both feet.  I can take as my pictures as I like - practice, practice, practice - and the ones that are no good just get deleted.  I really enjoy spending hours on my computer with my photos.  I use PhotoImpact 8 by Ulead products and recently have done some playing around with Windows movie maker.  I am going with my church group to central Mexico (our 3rd trip since '96) and am preparing to use my photography as a ministry while we are there.  Our group will go out in the small villages taking a couple of puppet programs, music and my photography.  I will be taking photos of the children and then pasteing and laminating their photos together with small bookmarks with the gospel message to give back to the children.  I am also hoping to take lots of photos of the people and put it together later as a documentation of our trip.

Anyway, that is a little about me.  I am looking forward to joining in here (as time allows)  I work full time and also am taking some college classes, as well as starting to build my own photography business, and of course take care of my home and family as well.  I am eager to learn new things so if any one has any tips, I am open to help.

In Christ,   Kathy W. :D

Hi and a great big welcome to you, Kathy!  I'm so happy to read your very informative post above.

I've had company all day since lunch time and this is my first time online and I'm so far behind but I'm looking forward to getting to know you in the next little while.

I was looking at your profile and see that you're from Michigan!  So we're neighbours!  I'm just about 2 1/2 hours from Windsor across from Detroit (on the way to Toronto).

Talk to you soon and yes, please come to New Every Morning and enjoy a cup of cyber coffee or tea with us.  (Maybe you've already been there...I haven't since last night)

Welcome, Kathy W!  We may have been posting at the same time yesterday, as I didn't see your post until now.  MY, you sound like one busy gal--I nearly got tired just reading about your myriad of activities.  Good for you!  I am an artist, too, or trying to be, anyway.  You can see some of my work in Creations with a brush here.  I hope to see lots of your photos and your artwork as well.  Great to have you with us! :)

Thanks for the welcome from everyone.  To answer a few of the questions.  I am a mom but not exactly young.  My youngest just turned 18 last month and is a senior in high school.  So with him graduating (an hopefully getting a job full time this summer) I am having a lot more time on my hands.  I am in Newaygo Michigan which is a small town to the north of Grand Rapids but south of Big Rapids (if that gives you an idea).  I will try to get on your "New Every Morning" forum if I can.  I sometimes have a few minutes at work before I have to actually start work.  But I will check in from time to time and hopefully be able to get some of my photos posted as well.

Kathy, that's terrific if you come to New Every Morning.  It's sort of like our little Donut Shop where we gather to enjoy a cup of coffee together and sing some hymns together.

I love your area.  I spent a couple of days at Grand Rapids last fall.  We stayed in the Holiday Inn at Grand Haven and watched the most magnificent sunset there.

I must post a photo of it for you.

Here's a link to today's New Every Morning...  CLICK HERE.

Around midnight, I'll be locking it but you'll still be able to read the messages.  I open a new one every night about midnight our time (yours and mine).

Welcome, Jules!

Great to see you here.  Wow!  What an exciting life you've had.  What part of England are you from?  I remember sending you a Welcome letter back in December I think.

I'm so glad to see that you've posted.

Come on over to the New Every Morning which is sort of like our local Coffee Shop.  I start a new topic each night at midnight and we talk all day in it.

Again, a great big welcome.  I'm very anxious to hear about your illustrating of children's books.  We have a couple of artists on the site that will be very happy to meet you and see some of your work.

hi I am Alice Wyatt and have been here before for a short time. I have been a born again Christian since 72 but have been in church since a child.  My second husband Cecil and I have had a long and interesting and sometimes wild ride since we married and were saved shortly after.

We have raised 9 children, mine ours and yours plus a few extras along the way  and have close to thirty grandchildren now all over the country and right now the world.  "We are beginning to add great grand children. We have three.  We have been members of several denominations in our walk with the Lord. Baptist. Methodist, Assembly of God and for the last going on 13 years non denominational.  God has taught us amazing things in each one and we had the joy of being in a great revival that lasted every day for 8 weeks.  Lately we have gone through an amazing journey of seeing a church and Pastor having twenty saved a Sunday to seeing  several of the pastors fall and our main pastor walking back through the Bible way of restoration. It has been a warning to a church of 3000 to what the devil can do if you don't pray for your pastors and keep watch. It has also taught us great lessons of faith. We are now watching that congregation being restored to newness and love. Our Lord is a great God. I can't wait to see what is next but my heart is very much beginning to pull toward home.   I will add I nursed for over thirty years in several areas and am now totally disabled . the Lord is also my strength.  Alice wyatt

Alice, what a testimony!  Thanks for sharing it here with us.

Join us over in the New Every Morning.  We have a terrific time there.  Right now, Jenny in England has started the "Papa John Fan Club!"  HAHAHAHA!  (He's shared a nice new photo tonight of himself all in red.)

Keep us posted on that horrific accident, Alice.  Several of us have been praying for your grandson and his fiance.

Hi Everyone,
My Name is Hayley, I am a happily married 35 yr old with 5 children...starting at 15 to 2 yrs of age.. it's never a dull moment ;D.. Actually, life is never a dull moment since Christ changed it....I've been a Christian for nearly 5 yrs now... I was born in England, raised in Australia and for the past 3 and a half years I've been living in the States.

My passion is drawing, (hopefully one day to be a Gospel Artist) and I love to take my own photos to use as reference.
My husband spoilled me at  Christmas and gave me a sony DSC-F717 digital camera and I'm having so much fun with it... but, would love to learn more.

I've read through 3 pages of this thread and hopefully be able to get back soon to read the rest.
I'm very thankful to have found a wonderful Christian website.

I can't wait to get to know everyone here  :)
When I think upon my God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes dance and leap from my pen- Franz Josef Haydn.

Hi, I'm Laurie.  I am a mother of three young boys, ages 4, 5, and 10, and have been married for 13 years.  I work as a school counselor and program director for a program that serves pregnant and parenting teens within our school district.  We help the students reach their goal of obtaining a high school diploma even though they have become parents at a young age.  I have been in public education for 9 years now, first as a classroom teacher (theatre arts and science), then as a middle school counselor (that was an experience, let me tell you), and now in my current capacity.  My family and I live in northeast Texas, about 50 miles NE of Dallas.  I was saved at the age of 15, but have found a renewed commitment to the Lord in the past couple of years.  As far as photography goes, well...I'm learning every day.  I got a camera for Christmas and have been driving everyone CRAZY with it since!  All I know is that it is fun, fairly inexpensive (hurray for digital), and I can involve my kids.  I don't plan on becoming a professional...I just like to take pictures!

Pat

Hello,
My name is Shawn.

I've read through all the "Introduce Yourself" replies and think that all of you seem to be great people. I'm not sure how often I will be able to participate in this site, but I'm sure glad to find it.

I live in Webb City, Missouri and work at a little print shop in Joplin, Missouri. I am a graphic designer by trade, but would like to be much more for the service of God.

I will be 31 in May and have a wonderful wife, Cherie, and a blessed little boy, Michael, who is almost two. We have two cats, sisters, Tinker and Belle and a Beagle named Skye.

I absolutely love photograpy and one of the things I hope to learn from this site is a way to use photography to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sorry, this is getting long. I feel silly writing about myself. I accepted God's call in my life to join my wife and father-in-law in a southern gospel trio called the Victorymen and we are fortunate to be able to travel all around and sing for churches and organizations to help edify and renew the places we have the priviledge to sing for. If you would like, go to www.geocities.com/thevictorymen to learn about that.

I hope to take enough great photos to have a show in a year. My problem seems to be more in composition than technique, but it sure is a learning process. Hopefully soon I'll be able to post something for you to critique. If you don't mind.

Well, thank you for your time.
Shawn

Sonifo

HI Shawn!

Thanks for posting a little about yourself.  It is nice to meet you.

My youngest son wants to be a graphic designer.  Did you go to school for that?

We won't mind commenting on your work.  ;D

Jeanne Lee

Welcome, Shawn!  When it comes to critique, I'm afraid you can count me OUT.  I don't know enough about photography and techniques to have anything intelligent to say.  But I'll certainly enjoy seeing anything you care to post!   ;D

Jane Walker

Welcome Shawn!
I have just spent quite a while touring the site of The Victorymen and I am impressed.  I love Southern Gospel music, and I recognize every song you have listed there in your "products" line.   :D

It is good to have you "aboard" this old CP ship!  Don't be shy with your photographs, now ... Everyone shares here, y'know!   ;D
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

sr_96

Soni,
Yes, I went to a four year college here in Joplin for my degree in Graphic Communications. I do have some advice about that for your son if he wants to hear it. If he is serious about the graphics field, he may want to go to an art school that specifically teaches that, and they only require two years instead of four like a normal college. I'll say though, a four year college will give a more rounded education that encompasses more fields of interest. :)

Jeanne Lee,
You say you don't know much about critiquing photos, but I must say that you probably do know what you like and don't like and that says a huge amount about a photograph. I would like any input you want to offer and that would be great. ;D

Jane,
About the Victorymen, all I want to say is God is good and I want to thank Him for His mercy while we are trying to do the best here we can. He is Good. We're in the process now of recording a new CD and hope to get it completed by November. I will try to keep our website updated and maybe you can visit it again sometime. And I hope I'm not overstepping some bounds here, I'm not trying to promote the group or myself. ;)

Thanks all for your time. Also, I'm new at using a forum, so if I boo-boo, sorry. :)

I have only been out of the country once, to Canada. And that was just over the line. These big white birds kept chasing me. I don't even know what they were. You probably have them in Wisconsin, too. Thank God for people willing to go to the people.

Oh, Pat and Judy,
I'm sorry, I sort of forgot about this particular forum page and I'm sorry I haven't answered you both.  :-[ The truth is, I don't know where we crossed the border, it was around one of the great lakes and we just crossed to eat lunch. It turned out to be quite a hassle, we travel in an RV and so it had to be searched before we could cross, and that took a long while. But now I can say I was in Canada and I guess that makes it worth it.

Zoomdak

Greetings friends!
My name is Thomas Robinson, but on the internet go as Zoomdak. I don't really have a preference to which you use. I've been a christian since I was a little boy when I was able to make the decision. My dad is the pastor of Community Presbyterian Church in Cannon Beach, which I am the webmaster for. I publish my photos through http://gallery.cannonbeachchurch.org. I have two older brothers, a cute little siamese kitten and a big galluph dog. I am a long distance runner, and run to the Glory of God. I also play soccer but am thinking about doing Cross Country next year.  In my free time, I go photoging. Mostly on weekend because weekdays are so packed with school and track. I live at the beach, in the forest, beautiful place to live. I also enjoy creative writing, computer games, video games, listening to music (like Riley Armstrong, Newsboys, St. Germain, Jars of Clay, Caedmon's Call, that sort of stuff), skimboarding, frisbee golf, and outdoor activities(when I'm not indoors on the computer :) ).  Well thats about all I can think about me!

Nita

Good morning, Thomas (Zoomdak).  I'm from Oregon too.  I love your area of the coast, and your pictures are great.  I also looked at the church your dad pastors.

Welcome to CP.  I hope you feel at home here.  I like Jars Of Clay, Caedon's Call and Newsboys too...and I'm old. haha.  I also like Mercy Me.

Do you run on the beach?  I like that you run to the Glory of God.

Keep coming back and getting to know everyone. ok?  Nita

Hello:

My name is Stacey and I live in Gaithersburg, MD. I'm originally from upstate NY and moved "down south" 5 years ago.  I met the Lord about 3 years ago and since then my life has not been the same. I can look back on my life and see how God has guided my step. My church has become like a second home and I've made so many friends there--it's like a second home.

I'm very much an amateur photographer but, recently, I can really feel the Lord leading me to use my photography (among other things) to glorify Him in some way. I've joined a few other photography forums/clubs but none have offered the spiritual fellowship that we as believers need. I'm so glad I found this website and hope to grow as a photographer and Chrisitan here.

Blessings,
Stacey

Pat

Welcome, Stacey!  I'm so glad that you've come to our site.

Many of us are beginners and some are more advanced and we look to them for help with our photos.

Hope you come to the New Every Morning for today's date and that's where you will get to know the rest of the group.

Hi!! My name is Allison and I'm 17 years old. I had never heard of Christian photography until this morning when I read about it in our local newspaper. I decided to do some research online. God has always been a part of my life, and I love photography. I guess I just never thought about combining these two aspects of my life. I love to take photos of nature and I hope to major in photojournalism after graduating. I've been going through some really tough times lately. My mom has melanoma cancer in the ventricles in her brain and all down her spine. She has so much faith in the Lord. It has inspired me to try to have a stronger relationship with Him also. Photography is one of the things that has helped me keep my mind off of these tough times. I'm glad to be a new member and I hope to get to know all of you better in the future!!!

Larry Hanna

Allison, we certainly welcome you to Christian Photography and glad you read about us and found us on the web.  You will find folks here who will support you, your mother, and family in prayer in these days ahead.  It sounds like your mother is firmly grounded in her belief in Jesus Christ and that he is with her each step of the journel she is taking in fighting this terrible disease.

Marilyn

Hi Allison we are so glad that you found us. We have several young people here as members as you will soon find out. Please pop over to New every Morning and tell us all about yourslef. We have a prayer forum too where you can post prayer requests for you dear mother.

Hi Steven!

Great to see you posting!  Where are you from?  I noticed that one of your uploaded photos mentions "Lanark".  Is that Lanark, Ontario?

Steven, come on into our New Every Morning area and get to know the folks!  It's sort of like our Tim Horton's Donut Shop!

Hi Pat - thanks for the hospitality.  Yes, I live in Lanark township, outside a little village called Hopetown.

By the way, I tried to upload a photo of myself for my profile and it didn't seem to work.  Do I have to put the photo
online somewhere, or can I just specify an address on my c:\drve?

Thanks again

Oh, I love that part of Ontario!  We used to camp at Bon Echo every year as the children were growing up and now my son goes there every year with his little one.

Click on my name, and send my the photo you are trying to upload for your profile.  Send it large if you wish and I can make it the right size for profile photos and put it on the CP server.

Welcome Nick!

Great to have you.  What part of the North-West of UK?  Would that be Scotland or England?  I just love it over there.  My husband and I did a lot of hiking there in the past years.

We have a discussion that we use sort of like our local tea shoppe or coffee shoppe and it's called New Every Morning and I've posted a welcome there to you and there will be others during the day.

Hi fellow photographers,

I'm new and am so glad to have found this board of Christian photographers.

I live in the mountains in a little village in northern Arkansas.  It's a quaint place and there are many beautiful scenes where I take my pictures.  I have an old Sony Digital Mavika.  The pics aren't as great as I'd like, but I can save them on floppy disks, so I keep using it.

I've been a Christian since I was 5 and have loved and tried to serve God all my life.  Because of his goodness, I have had a blessed and joyous life for almost 60 years.

I really look forward to looking at all your pictures and sharing this board with you all.

Pat

WELCOME GWEN!!

So glad you found us here at Christian Photographers!

Hello  I am DiAnn from Ormond Beach, Florida, 4 years into retirement from a 36 year career in education.  My daughter works full time and her husband travels with his work so I am the day care plan for our grandchildren - Chase 4 and Molly and Emmie 3.  My husband recently retired and is now home with me full time to enjoy the blessings that these babies bring to our lives.  This particular fork in the road (there have been many) interrupted studies in theology where my intent was to gain a pastoral counseling degree so that I could become involved in couseling for the dying and/or teach theology at a local college.  I have just recently gained a little more time to devote to my spiritual development and may end up in pursuit of that degree yet.  I am not, however, very concerned about whatmay be next for me as God has never failed to provide the directional signals for my life.  My husband's brother lives with us and my 83 yr old mother spends her winters here, so with the children and our beloved cocker spaniel, Bogie, we have a busy home.

I am a volunteer mentor for troubled teens and have a variety of interests and hobbies.  I enjoy all of the arts, golf and photography.  I look forward to being an active member of this community.

Hi Barbara.  Making stationary?  Isn't that fun?   I did it for awhile too.

There are others on here who aren't photographers.  You'll find much to do here that has nothing to do with photography.

I'm a widow too.  I live on the Oregon coast.  I'm 63.    I just saw them welcoming you in New Every Morning, so I left my little message too.  I'm looking forward to getting to know you.   Nita

Welcome, Barbara!

We have another lady who lives in Indiana and a fellow too!  So that's great!

I'm almost 65 and I do love photography but there's lots on this site for folks who don't do it.  We need folks too that like to look at photos!   ;D

Yes, they're welcoming you over in NEW EVERY MORNING so come and have a cup of cyber coffee with us (or if you prefer, tea's steeping as well)!

God bless,

Hi my name is Bruce and I'm new to CP. I recently moved to Knoxville, TN. I have a lovely wife, Beth and a great little son named Jonathan. I waited untill I was 40 to have my first child, so I get called grandpa a lot. People will say things like, "Is this your grandpa? or How old is your grandson?" I laugh. I have salt and pepper hair, so I look the part! Jonathan loves "Little Foot" the dinosaur in the "Land Before Time" animated series.
I found a great church in Knoxville. I graduated from Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC in 2002. I lived in student housing, which is located in a poor neighborhood in downtown Greenville. There were a lot of problems that are common to inner city neighborhoods like; drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, vagrants, etc...I'm sure most people know what I mean. I tried to ignore it. It broke my heart to see all those little children with so many needs. I started making friends and I went to community meetings. I could not believe how warmly I was received. God lead me to start a ministry in the hood. It was easy because all I had to do was walk outside to start ministering. It was a wonderful time.
I graduated and we moved to knoxville. I don't live in the hood anymore, but I miss it. PLEAse pray for me. Pray that God will lead me and use me again. I'm kind of lost right now. It's like I had purpose and now I don't.
I'm glad to be here, I'll be setting up a webpage, so I can download some of my pic's. I look forward to meeting you all.  Thanks and God bless!    Bruce.

Pat

Hey Bruce!

It's great to have you.  If you would like to, go to the button at the top of the page "GALLERY" and go and create an area in there and then you can post your photos on here.  We just ask that folks only upload 4 per day as I'm limited in my space.

Hope to see you in the New Every Morning.  We need more men in there!  LOL

I have a grandson named Jonathan and he's my pride and joy.  Looking forward to seeing your son.

I have been here for a couple days.  I might be a little late introducing myself but here it goes.
I am a Christian photographer(you all knew that I'm sure)  I have a boy about 9 months old and my wife is pregnant with our second already.  Talking about being streched by God (awsome)  I have my own business called Elwood photography and it is basically portrait photography.  I am in a Christian rock band called "Silance no more"  we are not big, so you will not find us on-line anywhere.  I play rythm guitar.  My dream is to be a sports photographer and/or a promotional photographer for christian musicians.   If you know any Christian musicians, send them my way  :D
I love my Messiah, Y'shua (Jesus' hebrew name, in other words that is what his friends called Him)!!
I can't wait to get to know y'all and call you by the name your friends call you.
