Hello everyone! I am new to the site and to the business of photography! I have had a love of photography since the 6th grade and I am now 31! I have spent too much time doing to many things that make me very unhappy when what I really wanted was to learn more about photography! I grew up being told it would never happen and I believed it! Then God UNEXPECTEDLY opened a door a couple of months ago and has continually opened each and every door since then! I am opening a part time portrait studio by the name of IN HIS IMAGE Digital Photography & Design! I want everyone to know that the glory goes to God and God alone! Without him I would still just be dreaming!! I did not plan to really begin business until January of 08 however God has other plans! The business is taking on a life of its own and I am already booking! Praise God!!! I am the mother of two, step mom of one and wife to the most wonderful man in the world I also provide christian childcare to some sweet little ones and have for three years!! We are converting a garage to the studio and I have tons of questions for anyone that wants to take pity on this newbie!! LOL!!

I really look forward to meeting all of you, learning from you and fellowshipping with you!!

Melissa, we tend to meet each day in the 'Thoughts for the Week' forum to read about prayer requests, praises and how our day is going and how it went.  Most of the photography is posted in the gallery. 

We are up to answering any questions that you wish to ask.  Some here are professionals...according to their photography, if they aren't they should be.  Me, I am a self-satisfying photographer.  If I like it that's all that counts!

You're sure more than WELCOME here, Melissa!!!  As has already been pointed out, we do a lot of chatting, etc on the Thoughts For The Week forum of this website, so come on over there, pretend we serve you coffee/tea, and, (after you've poured your own), enjoy it with us!  Tell us all about yourself (where, how long, etc., etc.).  Blessings!

I love children as well, I have an associates degree in early childhood and maybe one day I hope to run a daycare.  I love photography of course and would love to sale my stuff for the world to be encouraged by. Hopefully God will open those doors in years to come. Look forward to chatting more often. And I will check out your pics. Any questions just holler. I'm learning as well.

Hello Melissa! 

Welcome to CP!  I can't spend too much time here since I homeschool two teenage daughters, but I come in when I can.  I just opened up for business in August, also earlier than I planned.  I need to keep my kids and hubby top priority, but I was getting enough work that it put me into the "no longer a hobby" income level according to the state. 

I, too, love the name of your studio.  Mine is called Shekinah Photography.  I wanted the name to reflect all that I want my images to encompass, which is mainly God's artwork, as I do mainly outdoor photography.  I do everything, but I most like to capture all that God has created.  I am working on powerpoint slides for my church and take pictures at their events, too. (I do that strictly for the Lord, of course)  I want to use my photography for ministry as much as possible.

Don't know if I have much to offer you, but I'll see you around the site and look forward to seeing your work.  I'll be praying for your new venture!
