Hi!

   I'm Janice, a 44 year old mom of three teens, and I'm just now beginning a new mid-life career move, after raising and homeschooling my kids.  I've been taking pictures since I was born, (all photographers are born with a camera tucked away in there! :), and because I also write, I'm praying that God can use my voice and photography skills to speak to people who are willing to listen and see new things.  In my life, I've dealt with several painful issues, most significant being sexual abuse, and eating disorders.  I have been in the dark places of the soul, and I have known the Lord to lift me to light.  I have tried to please everyone at times, but have learned I can't, so I just live and do what I feel God wants me to do.  In learning more about my craft, I have been frustrated by too much tech talk, and intimidated by all that I don't know.  I'm hoping to share more of the human side of photography here, as well as learn new ways of seeing.  It's not all about the camera and the equipment...to me, the subject and the meanings are far more important, and that's what I'd like to convey in my work.  I hope to settle in, and get to know you guys, and I thank God for letting me find you!   God bless you and have a safe holiday weekend!    Janice

It's lovely to have you here and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you.  My daughter, Janice, homeschooled her 4 kids for several years and she's so happy that she did.

Hi Janice welcome to the group. We are so pleased that you have decided to share your life with us here at CP. Come on over to the new Every Morning forum and get to know every one, read the daily devotional etc. I live in Northern California in the Redwoods country and the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Welcome to CP, Janice!

It is so nice to have you, and like you, most of us are still learning about photography.  It is such a fun hobby, and one that for some leads to a vocation.  I take many, many photos, but am not a professional by any means.  Lots of the tach talk goes right over my head!  ???

I hope we can rad more about you in the coming days!  :)
