Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Hi everyone,

Happy Easter and God bless you!  I'm Janice, a photographer/mom from NJ...

I have a question/dilemma that I'd like to share with other like-minded folks, and any input or suggestions would be much appreciated.  You see, I'm one of those people who have taken pictures since I could hold a camera, (now I'm almost 48, and have held many!), and in the last few years since my kids have grown, I've taken my photography more seriously, and have bought, read, watched, and learned everything I could to better my skills and understanding both, of photography, and the business of photography.

That being said, I continue to ask myself, and, consequently, make no progress, at what point is my photo 'done' enough to actually submit to a publication?  I fear I've absorbed so much information that my perfectionistic tendencies have taken over, so I never know if my photos are good enough to even merit a look by someone other than me or my family.  I mean, you take the picture, photoshop it to death, delete it cos there's a gazillion other photos like it, retrieve it from the Recycle Bin, start again, tweak some more, and on and on it goes, leaving you drained and numb as to why you are doing this in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE photography, and I'd do it for nothing, (have I mentioned I've been doing it for nothing?) but at this point, I'd really like to see if my photos are print worthy, but I don't know how to send in the PERFECT submission!  Does anyone else understand or can relate to this?  I know I'm not the only one, and I'd sure love to hear from other shutterbugs what they do to keep peace inside and out...thanks again for listening....love, Jan

Welcome[/b] Janice!  I'm not one of the "pros" around here, but I'm sure there are lots of others who are and who can help you with the submission approach.  I'd suggest, though, that you also post in the "Thoughts for the Week" folder of this site, since lots more of the real "pros" are posting and reading posts there.  Nevertheless - glad to see you here!

Thanks, Al, I'll do that!  Have a nice day!  Jan
