Title: no way, i'm new.
Post by: candiceloves on July 12, 2006, 02:27:17 PM
so after a little bit of viewing this site, i thought, hey i might as well join so i can post once in a while.

well, hello. i'm candice, i just turned 17 and i like to take pictures with either my canon rebel, a canon powershotA95 or a canont50[?] slr. i live in northeast pa, really just in the middle of no where, and i'm homeschooled. i did go to public school until 10th grade though so i'm not totally sheltered. i'm heavily involved with my church, probably as many things as i could be in i'm in, as well as my parents. i work at our rec center on the church campus, which it's kind of like the YMCA. and i'm going to be finishing school in september/october. can you tell i hate talking about myself, because i do.

so that's enough...but i do have a question, and it probably shouldn't go in my "introduction" of myself, but i'm really not sure how much i'm going to get to be back on here. so my question is..i have a picture of my youth pastor walking next to a river [in the mud] in black and white, does any bible verse come to mind that i could put with it and give it to him framed.  andddd, he and his wife's 1st anniversary is coming up and they are pretty new to our church too, so i wanted to give them something special and i thought of another picture.  a butterfly sitting on tons of daisies, it's a pretty cool picture [and i rarely say that about my stuff] but still the same, i was looking for a verse that is about like growing in Christ or something along those lines of how they have helped me grow in the little time they've been here.  anything would really help.

one day, i'm going to live in a place where there's no humidity, but until then, God bless from wonderful hot sticky pennsylvania.

Hey Candice! :welcome: Glad to have you here! :)

I looked at your deviant art site and really enjoyed your pictures. You do wonderful work!

If you haven't decided on a scripture for the photo of your youth pastor yet, here's a few suggestions:

John 7:38 - "Whoever believes in me...streams of living water will flow from within him."

Psalm 42:1 - "As the deer pants for the water...so my soul longs for you."

Perhaps for the other one:

Colossians 1:10 - "And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God..."

Galatians 5:22 - The fruit of the Spirit....

Anyways...glad to have you here! Check in with us when you can! :)

hey thanks so much for all the welcomes!

i'll try to get up tomorrow for the morning deal.  at night it's been so hot here that i haven't been sleeping well, but come morning i sleep until like 10 or 11 haha. "muddy_sneakers" [what a fun name] thanks so much for those verses, as soon as i'm done replying i'll be sure to look more into them.  i'm not sure which pictures i should actually put into my nifty album here, since i do have a deviantart that i put the "best of my best" pictures up. i would suggest looking there if you want any pictures, but i guess i'll have to pick some and put them up.

hope everyone has a great evening!

with love,
candice.

Hi Candice, you don't need to worry about getting up early as New Every Morning goes on all day as some of our members are in England and some in Japan and many in various time zones.  So just check in when you can throughout the day.

And from me?  Welcome to :cp:

Great verses from Christina (Muddy Sneakers)

Welcome Candice!
Here are couple more suggestions for the muddy walk by the river that came to mind: Ps.1:1-3 & Ps.18:36.

Related to their ministry to you, how about 1 Cor.1:4, Phil. 1:3-5, or Heb.6:10 ?

How are you doing, Candice?

Have you taken any photos lately?

today was a busy day, it's my first time getting signed in all day.

yesterday i took one of a hummingbird, but it's not up anywhere yet. i have albums everywhere, between DeviantArt, and webshots [in my signature are the links, they're safe.] so to put pictures here it's really a killer, haha. i was just at a state park that has water falls and didn't bring my camera due to having a low battery which was stupid of me, but i'm sure i'll be going out there again sometime.

thanks for asking!
blessings,
candice

Hey, Candice!

I'm still pretty new here myself. In fact, still getting the hang of how to manuever around this sight and post here and there, and visit here and there.

I'm glad to meet cha, Candice. Will take a look at your photo posts soon as I figure out how to find your particular photos. I suppose it's really simple, but for some reason I'm still getting the hang of manuevering around and using the buttons and features of this sight.

Do you take a lot of butterfly and flower and other types of nature photos, Candice?

           Steve

Hi Steve...

Beside or under everyone's name when they post you'll see an "Album" button.  If you click that "Album" button, you'll be taken to their albums in our Gallery and if they have created one, you'll see the photos.  If they haven't created one, it will say that there is no image to view.

Hey back at cha, Candice!  :)

Kids and nature can be a lot of fun, too!  ;D Have you ever read any copies of Country or Birds and Blooms magazines? They have some endearing regular feature sections in both with kids encountering nature. Birds and Blooms has "KinderGarden" and "Kids and Blooms", and Country has "Country Kids." Love both of these Reiman Publications magazines!  :) They are both an inspiration to me in the work the Lord has given me to do as a Founder/CEO/Editor in Chief of a publications and entertainment studio, that I am working toward getting started and up and running, that will create similar types of, basically, reader-written magazines filled with memories and photographs and artwork that is shared to bless and help to build up the body of Christ by fellow brothers and sisters in Him. Reiman Publications is not specifically faith-based and Christian, but Steve McLean's Designer Publications and Entertainment Studios will be. Perhaps, you might even one day become one of those who contribute reader-written memories and photos for future publications, Candice!  :) That would be a special blessing for you and I and everyone who reads and sees whatever you share!  :)

Well, gotta run. Thanks for your reply, Candice. God Bless!

          Love,
Your Brother in Christ,
          steve

i never really thought about submitting my pictures anywhere. that might be pretty cool, considering i have No idea what i'm doing with my life and i'm graduating in like 3 months.

if you want to see more of my photography you can check out:

the last three are webshots, which i have tonsss of, but i sent you the ones that had the most nature ones. the first is my DeviantArt, where everything that i think is good enough to put on a photography site, is on there.

hope you have a great day!
