These are a few of my pics. I was lucky I got them focused. I had the lens zoomed in all the way and didn't know it!
I didn't know how to use my camera very well at the time. :uglystupid:

A tripod would have helped stabilize the images better. Not sure if you used one or not!

Well done, your focus time would have been extremely short!
Fireworks are best with a tripod, and relatively long exposures. You could immediately make these look a bit better by increasing contrast and saturation.
I would have used a tripod if I had one at the time.
You were right about the adjustment. It looks way better.
