The stage of this moon is termed 87.4% Waxing Gibbous; which is fancy talk for darn near a full moon, I think ;D

Beautiful! I have tried moon shots but they are tiny dots in the sky! Love this with the clouds and all! Well done!
I love it! The ones I've tried come out oval instead of round. >:( Maybe one of these days I'll figure out how to adjust the settings.
Great shot Ken!
Thanks! I , too, have been frustrated numerous times taking pictures of the moon, so don't feel alone :-\ Judy, I think you nailed it, the clouds really made the picture. Fortunately there was a lot of high wind, so I didn't have long to wait for God to put them in just the right spot
I guess that is trial and error as well as a learning curve! I really like your shot though!
You nailed this one! I love the clouds. I've never been able to capture clouds and the moon both.
Thanks Smokey!
The problem is, the Earth keeps turning, so the moon appears to be moving. Unless you take a very quick shot, it will blur out to a slight oval.
