Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

"The Cascades", the terminus of the Los Angeles-Owens River Aqueduct,  bringing water 38 miles, from the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada to the city of Los Angeles. The project was begun in 1905 and completed in 1913.

That's awesome, UHS.  Is it really from the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada range?  Seems like it oughta be from the western slopes, inasmuch as it's the western slopes that are on the same side as LA is.  (I don't really know, though - I'm just asking).

Hi Al,
I don't know. I just quoted what the inscription says on the plaque attached to a big boulder at the base of the aqueduct, so I assume they wrote accurate information on it. :)

I drive past there almost every night on my way home from work, so decided to stop and take a few pix the other day.

Last December, they had it adorned all month long with colored lights at night, to celebrate its 100th anniversary. It was quite a sight!

Here's another shot showing the plaque's relationship to the aqueduct!

What a place to be.  I wonder what it would look like at sunrise/sunset?
I am living proof that a mess can become a message. I have been Forgiven Much

No other God came to earth as a human to save us from our sin. Jesus is the only God who died for you. No other God would do that. He took our punishment in his death and nailed it to the cross. He has won victory over the grave. All we have to do is accept what he's already done for us. Nothing to loose, just believe.

Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV

"...seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul."

In my trucking days I have seen this aqueduct andwas always amazed at the technology that was used to build it.

Your picture is wonderful.  The verse is a great fit!
