I wrote this for my parents back when they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary:
A long time ago
on a cold winter day
my parents joined hands
and their still together this day
It wasn't always easy
this in fact I know
but with the love and prayer
they've shared
There marriage will always glow
Once their little boy
I'm now all grown up
and married to an angel
sent from God above
My parents we look up to
each and every day
Even though we're located
a thousand miles away
Mom and Dad
we love you so very much
And God has blessed the two of you
with thirty-eight years of love
We wish we were there
on your special day
But Houston Texas
is quite a ways away
