Title: 50 Years OF A Blessed Marriage
Post by: pixel on September 06, 2008, 08:35:09 PM
Last December my dad and mom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, I wrote the following:

Working with his father
in a small Kentucky town
Ted would get excited
when lunch time came around
From the brickyard
to the truck-stop
He left a cloud of dust
Just to place an order
with a waitress that he loved
As Lou Ann placed his order
day after day
She to shared his love
that was united
on a cold December day
Newly-weds they were
with a big world ahead
Off to the big city where
three eleven East Capitol
they lived
All of their dreams
were now coming true
A career in prosthetics
and proud parents too
With Debbie's arrival
a move was in store
South Point Ohio
could not be ignored
Sometime had passed by
before I arrived
The silver hair they bare
I'm sure I supplied
My sister and I
grew up a great life
With parents like this
it's no wonder why
This marriage they share
has weathered the storms
With Gods guiding hand
and prayers galore
Their love for each other
still blossoms today
Fifty years of marriage
what more can one say

Happy Anniversary
Love,
Matthew A.

Ohhh, how lovely is that!

How talented you are to write those lines for your dear parents.
