Title: A new poem
Post by: Al Moak on November 27, 2004, 12:04:11 PM
We rarely think of Jesus' coming from His standpoint, but maybe we should.  This poem is intended to help.

A View from the Cross[/size]

What was it like for Jesus to come?
What was it like to be here?
A place where His Father was spurned,
A place He would shed many a tear.

No one else loved the Father so much,
No one could feel so much pain,
As He saw us and heard us rebel -
It’s His dear Father’s honor we stain

That’s how it was for Him to be here
Yet the world He didn’t blame
He took their blame, their ungrateful sin
He Himself bore all the shame.

That’s how it was for Jesus to come,
That’s how it was to be here.
ALL the pain was His, though ours the blame.
I pray you’ll love Him, all you who hear!
