Dream a little dream!

I wandered through the night.
First on a boat, then on a flight.
I felt joy, then a sense of despair.
They were many at this strange fair.
I saw wonders that amused.
I saw animals being abused.
There was food, and music to.
Happiness and laughter was renewed.
The smell of sweat, and animal’s clung.
The sound of a bell being rung.
I was off again, on the wings of a dream.
To a pit of fire, and the agony of a scream.
I willed myself, to better times.
To family dear, and children’s rhymes.
To joy unknown and pleasure seeked.
But in truth, I was fast asleep.
