Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Here is a poem written by my favorite aunt, who has gone on to be with the Lord a few years ago.  She lived to be 93 and was such a blessing to all who knew her.

MEMORIES
    By Zona Poole

One night a haunting little tune
Took me back through memory's halls
To "good ol days" when I was young
And showed me pictures on its walls.

I saw the children gathered 'round
With mom and Dad at table spread
With goodies in the garden grown
(Or sometimes only milk and bread.)

I saw my father's toil-worn hands
As on the violin he played;
He drew the bow across the strings
Of one those calloused hands had made.

There were those early mornings when
I'd wake to sound of music sweet
It might be "Turkey In The Straw"
Or maybe "Bonaparte's Retreat."

I heard Mother hush the crying babe
While singing of the Savior's arms.
In memory I heard her sing,
"Oh there are ten thousand charms."

I saw the country meeting house
Where folks would come to hear God's word,
And o'er the years when Christ was preached
Many came to know the Lord.

These scenes and countless others more
I viewed in halls of memory
Hallowed by the years gone by
They've passed into eternity.

She mentioned my grandfather and his violin.  I have a photo of him with one when he was young.  (Yes, he made violins!)  Maybe I can get Pat to post it for me sometime.

OK, Pat.  I will send it now.  I was just about to sign off and get busy in the house when I noticed you had replied.  I need to get time to do some reading here, lately have just been so busy with my family's website in MyFamily.com and we have been doing oldie photos and talking of memories etc.  That is where I came across some family genealogy and stories, thus the poem showed up.  Here comes the photo (by email) in a couple of minutes, of my grandfather when he was young.  My brother posted it last night to the family site.

Thanks, Janice

Janice that was a lovely poem and yes those memories have passed into "eternity".....Life must have seemed so hard then  but with retrospect folks had their priorities right and the lttle blessings meant so much.

Thanks for sharing!

Jenny.
