Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Here are a couple of ocean poems - a thing that I feel deeply.

I LOVE THE OCEAN

I love the seashore, its wind and spray,
Its storm-tossed vastness and gentle bay.
I love its seabirds, its fish, its swells,
Its rocky jetty, its sand and shells.

I love its morning, its foggy grey,
Its gentle forenoon, its hints of sun,
Its sparkling sunshine, its cool of day,
Its rolling music, when day is done.

Let me be by the ocean at last.
I'll sing with angels - with the great choir!
I'll praise my God when day is past,
When sinks the sun and turns to fire.

RENEWING OF THE FOG

Depressing to some, the fog so grey,
Rolling in from ocean or bay,
Hiding treetops in mists above,
Hugging the rocks in moistest love.

But peacefulness it brings to me -
From daily noise and glare sets free.
Isolated and quiet there,
My mind, at last, to think may dare.

And when again appears the sky,
And worldly thoughts my mind will try -
More ready then I am to give,
To work, and think, and yes, to live.

Thank you, Marilyn - they're right from the heart.  I really do love the ocean and the fog.

I love those poems Mr. Moak.  I've always wanted to see the ocean.  You have a very defined gift with descriptive words.  Jen.

Al Moak

Thank you Jen.  I certainly wish for you that you may see and enjoy the ocean soon - it's a wonderful experience.

Shinenlite

Thanks for those beautiful words. I especially love the ocean poem. Your words describe the feel of being oceanside so well that even one who has never been can get an idea of what they are missing.
I am fortunate to live 5 minutes from the Gulf and spend much time walking on the beach. I find it very relaxing and it's the best palce to get "alone" with God and have conversation with Him. I love to walk and make up songs of praise as I admire His handiwork.
Blessings to you and yours,
Jo
Even after all this time,
the sun has never said to the earth,
"You Owe Me"...
Look what happens with a love like that,
It lights the world"

Al Moak

Thanks so much for those words, Jo.  I really do love the ocean.  What a wonderful creation of God!

Jenny

Beautiful!

I love the sea....especially Cornwall with the huge waves at Tintagel, hitting against the rocks.

When I was younger I went to stay at Poundstock Manor in Cornwall.  It's a Smugglers place. I used to get up at 4 in rthe morning and walk alone onto the rocks and sit watching the ocean.....WONDERFUL! Your poems gave me a good memory. Thanks Pastor Al.

Jenny.

Maria

I have similar feelings about the ocean and fog.  Miss seeing the ocean from my window in Chemainus.  Nice poems, Pastor Al.

Nita

Al, I didn't know you wrote poetry!  These are wonderful, and sure show your heart for the ocean.  As you know, I'm blessed to be right here beside the Pacific.  love, Nita

Nita

As you may have noted, I'm way behind on looking at the poetry!  I just noticed the date of the last post. lol  Oh well, here I am now.......and I like your poetry today as much as they did in May. :)

Jane Walker

Hey AL ~ I love these poems .... Like Nita, I just came across these poems of yours... Thanks so much for expressing it so well!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

:-[ :-[  I have to admit, I think this is my first time in the Poems area!  I didn't know what I was missing!  I love the sentiments you expressed so well in your ocean poems, Al.  As you know, I love the oceans too!  I look at them from a different perspective, uaually, though---from inside!  (I'm a Scuba diver!) ;D
