Title: Walk In The Shoes
Post by: Jeannine on March 24, 2007, 07:17:47 AM
WALK IN THE SHOES

You sit so comfortable there in your pews,
but, have you walked in My shoes?
Have you tread the paths I trod?
Did you not know, I am the Son of God?

I came and walked on this earth,
I came to bring new birth.
Came to help and heal the sick and the lame,
can you honestly say the same?

You sit there and say,
"Wish I could help in some way."
But do you mean it? would you?
Or do you ask because you know there is nothing you can do.

What of the caregiver, so burdened and worn,
what of the friend who is hurting and forlorn.
Can you imagine all that they suffer?
Do you not know you could make their lives brighter?

I know all that they are going through,
I have lived it and been there too.
To heal the brokenhearted, that's why I came.
To bring new sight to the blind and heal the lame.

I came to set the captive free,
For all these and more, I died on Calvary's tree.
What I ask, with My help is not hard to do.
Just think what it is like to walk in their shoes.

I am with you and I am with them,
but sometimes they just need a friend.
Someone who will even just listen,
you never know, you may see tears of thanks glisten.

Jeannine Faith

Hope you like it. To many reasons to put as to how this came about. I am enjoying writing, another way to share my love for my Saviour and hope others will too. All the glory goes to Him who loves us.

Still Trusting,
<><Jeannine

Another very touching and heart-felt poem, Jeannine ... My words are so inadequate to express what this does for me.  Thanks.    <3

a very convicting verse.

Hi Jane ~ thanks, I finally let God do the writing and not me.

Smokey ~ i guess it is because i am caregiver to 3 generations and it gets overwhelming at times. people only offer to help when they know there is nothing they can really do, and this from "Christian" friends.

Thanks for the encouragement! God Bless!

Jeannine this is so sadly true.   :(  I understand, perfectly, what you feel and I pray added strength will be granted for each moment of each day.  I know all the platitudes that you've probably already heard many times so.....  ::)   TRY to find the opportunity to just fall into the loving arms of our dear Father and let Him hold you close and comfort your heart ... and give you REST!

Keep writing ... it not only blesses us but is very theraputic for you as well.      <3

Thank you Jane and Marilyn! with everything that has been going on started writing and they became more like prayers and then to these. God surely does lead because for years I could not write like this if I wanted to, no matter how hard I tried to just write. God Bless!

Jeannine...I am so glad you are at last expressing yourself in your beautiful poetry. It is the way I can communicate the best as well. Will never be a preacher or be very talkative but I thank God I can express myself in verse. I am so glad also Jeannine that you are a friend and a true one at that. It is so nice we have combined our talents in our new website and I know there is so much more we can do. I must publicly thank you for the way you have created our website....you have more knowledge of html than I do and it is wonderful the way you have put the slideshows together. Our site is looking so good because of you. I am honoured to be your friend. Take care and God bless....Colin

Awww, :-[ just doing what I think pleases God. And I want to thank you also Colin for being a true friend, especially in time of need and for giving me something to look forward to that is not a part of my "usual" routine with being a caregiver. Thank you my dear friend and brother! <3 God Bless!!!
