Title: Al Moak~Please Pray for Him
Post by: Pat on November 03, 2011, 01:01:28 AM

We've learned from a phone call that our dear brother, Alan Moak, has been in the hospital for a week now.  He is very weak and when he is released from the hospital, he will be sent to a Nursing Home for rehabilitation.

We love our dear brother in the Lord and we ask that all of our members please pray for him that the Great Physician will heal him quickly and bring him back to health and strength.

Pat  :)

Just checking in and saw this announcement.  I am concerned about Al and will, most certainly pray more concertedly for his healing and complete recovery.  I am also concerned for Marbeth.   God keep them both in the very hollow of Your hand.   <3

My this is a shock but knew he hasn't been feeling well.  I will certainly keep Al in my thoughts and prayers and just as Jane indicated I will also remember Marbeth in my prayers.

I noticed Al hadn't been posting, but thought he was probably just busy.  I'm so sorry to read that he is sick, and have stopped and prayed for him and Marbeth before posting this.  May God raise him up quickly in fully restored health.

I am continually amazed at how dear to us our fellow posters on CP become, and how quickly!  Al actually called me a while back, and what a nice surprise that was!

When I was speaking to Marbeth last night she had a concern.   When he goes into a nursing home she hopes it is near to where they live otherwise she will have difficulty visiting him.  Lets pray also for this need.

Praying here for Al and Marbeth and will continue to pray for them.

There are no nursing homes very close to Marbeth and Al's home. Not in Mckinleyville or Arcata,  the nearest nursing homes are in Eureka about 17 miles from where they live. I  will call Marbeth  to see how he is doing. There is no charge for me to call them but I know their church family will see that Marbeth gets there. I will send a message to one of the members that is on Facebook just in case I can't reach Marbeth, Don Chin can bring me up to day on Al..

Post by: Marilyn on November 04, 2011, 01:21:45 PM
I just spoke to and prayed with Bro. Al, He said to tell you all thank you for the prayers and my god Bless you for your loving care toward him. He is in Room 124 at Mad River Hospital in Arcata Ca. the phone number there is 707-822-3621 if anyone  would like to call him.

He said his white cell count is too high, they haven't found out why yet but are giving him antibiotics, The Wound care Nurse had been there this morning to wrap his legs. He sounded a little bit down, it could be the medication. Marbeth was there with him.

Dear Al, I got an email message to say that you have not been well.  I am glad that you know that God is faithful in the good times as well as during our difficult times.  Nevertheless everyone wants to assure you that you are being prayed for.  I trust that you will know the presence of God during these hard days, and this is what I will be praying for - "... if God be for us, who can be against us."

God bless you Al (and your family too).

Anthony.

Haven't posted lately, been really busy.

Al you have not been forgotten, we are praying for you here in NC. I don't get so busy that I don't pray.

I see it's been a week since there was a update on Al, just wondering if he is at the same phone # as posted by Marilyn and how he is doing?

Lord, in thy precious Name, we ask that you continue to be near both Al and Marbeth. Draw them up close to Your breast, please, and give them comfort and peace, and should it be in Your will, may they be reunited, stronger and healthier than they've been for years, we pray. We remember in Your holy Word that You tell us, "I am the Lord who healeth thee." We're claiming this promise in the name of Jesus who died for each of us, Amen

I Spoke to Marbeth last night.  Al has been moved to St.Josephes Hospital in Eureka.  From what she said that is further away from where they live, but the Doctor who is dealing with a different problem wouldn't go to the hospital that he was in.

St Josephs Hospital, Room 1327  Perhaps Marilyn can get the phone number for us.

These are the things that need prayer,

1.  His Kidneys that they become infection free. This was the source of high white cell count and the back pain he was enduring, also as the infection has reduced, so has the swelling in his legs..

2.  Pray that his strength increase so that he can get around on his own, and is able to go home.

3.  He will need to go to a nursing home, that his stay there is short.

4.  He is diabetic, pray that they don't have too hard a time keeping him on diet.  It is hard to change habits as we get older...especially label reading!.

5.  Last but most important please keep praying.  Prayer does work.

Eureka, CA 95501

Phone:  707-445-8121

HOORAY!!

After Jane set me on the right track, our Lord helped me to not only locate the hospital, but also to speak directly with Al. He said he took a little walk down the hallway today, and Marbeth answered the phone, so it was great to know they could be together today.

Yes, let's do pray for them both, and possibly we could shower them with cards of encouragement, too, while he's there.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Let's keep up our support - a sort-of "call Al calendar would be great." I could call on either Wednesdays or Thursdays.

A dear friend of mine was in the hospital for an entire year, and someone organized a "visit her once a month" group and even had some people who volunteered as substitutes. It really helped tremendously.

By the way, that friend was visited every single day, but each person only visited once a month. I didn't phrase that very well.

Checking in this pretty but cold Sunday morning.  It was 27 degrees F. when we left for the early service and I was wishing we could go to the mid service at least but this is the one that is much more peaceful.

Prayers for Al.

Pat:  I just love the color of your new flower.  It goes so nicely with my paint!!!  Hugs to you & Paul.  Did you get the van good to go?  Car problems are such a nuisance.  Happy American Thanksgiving to you - nice that you celebrate twice.

Al is in Eureka Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, in Eureka, California,  but there are no phones in the rooms and they don't take a phone to the patients .... There is a number where you can talk with his nurse, however ... 707-445-3261

The plan is that he will be released to return home soon.  Keep praying.

When I spoke to Don this  morning he had not been to see Al for a week to  a week and a half but said he was improving. Every time I call Marbeth I get the machine too, I've left messages but she isn't returning the calls. When you talk to the nurse at Rehab, they probably won't give any info to anyone other than his family. That has been the case in the past when I've had clients there.

I was speaking to Marbeth last night.  Don has a Doctor he likes coming to see him I believe today.  The infection seems to be gone, the diabetes is under control it is just one last issue medically to be cleared up, and Al back on his feet.

He is becoming quite discouraged.

He wants Marbeth with him every day and she is feeling it.

He is hoping this Doctor can clear up this last issue.

Those are the issues to be prayed for.

I just got notice of a post here, so came to see.  Judy, thanks for giving us the way to pray.  It is so very hard for loved ones of those going through what Al is.  The strain is almost overwhelming.  They sure need the sweet and refreshing Presence of the Lord to rain down on them.

Father, bring healing and refreshing to both of your children, Al and Marbeth.  Let them feel your Presence, as only You can.  Where there is discouragement, Lord, please touch with encouragement.  Let  Al feel your Love in a brand new way.  We know you are the answer to every need, and humbly we come to offer our prayers for our brother and sister.  Father, I ask for hope for Al.  Give him hope, and a remembrance that he is truly yours and nothing is out of your control.  Father, he just needs to feel your arms around him now.  Please let him have that, please just touch his heart with that Love that closes us in with You.  Only You can do that, Jesus.  We look to You.   We ask....because we too are yours.  amen

Thanks so very much for all your caring and praying!  I'd like to request special prayer for the 12th, when I'll be taken over to St. Joseph's hospital for a special procedure on my prostrate.  I'll be under anethesia, but no actual incisions will be made.  They'll do everything through the skin!  I don't know how, but only that that's the way it'll be.  I'll be overnight at that hospital, then back to Eureka Care after that.  I look to our Lord for His mercy through Jesus our Lord.
