I expect most of you remember that Amanda is attending university art courses this year, with hopes of getting a degree to teach art.

Her work and marks are great, except for a problem with Art History.  The next three weeks are going to determine if she can continue, or will have to repeat the whole thing next year.  Seems the teacher is very hard to please where essays are concerned.  It is a rather weird system and would appear to be more about money than the talent of the students.  They drop like flies over this one subject. 

Since a great deal of money is involved and no idea what will happen if she is not successful with this subject, I am going to ask for prayer on her behalf.  Do not think my little efforts will be enough on my own.  That is the price one pays for a family that does not follow Christ.  So would greatly appreciate any prayers you can send on her behalf.

Dear Lord you hear the cries of this praying Grandmother. I ask that you lean your ear toward here and listen to her pleas. I ask you Lord God to give Amanda great favor with her teacher and that her grades will reflect that favor. Please soften the heart of the instructor in regard to the essays You  know that Amanda's finances  are very tight, Lord ad that she is counting on passing this course with an excellent grade. So  I ask that you send your angels to surround her and bless her with wisdom and knowledge. I pray Jesus Name Amen.

College may be a trying for a young Christian in more than one way.  Unless it is a Christian College, many compromises are expected by the faculty while they indoctrinate our youth.

Is this part of the problem?

Is this teacher being intentionally difficult with your daughter because of her testimony?

Our praying will be intense. (Rom 8:26 - 28)

Thanks for the encouragement and your prayers.  I understand it will be a bit before she knows the results on her essay.  To not succeed will mean having to wait until next fall to continue in school.  Despite her success in the other areas.  Strange system.  Not certain what the problem is with the teacher.  Amanda is always nicely dressed, no nose rings, tatoos, etc.  Seems that has an adverse effect on some people.  The other teachers all seem to like her and she was very well liked in regular school.  As they say, it only takes one tainted apple to spoil the barrel!!  Can only hope that she has written something that will succeed!

Father, You know what is best for Amanda and what is best for Your kingdom and glory.  I pray You will overcome any and all opposition - as necessary - to bless Amanda and glorify Yourself.  Oh do this, Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have a 20-year-old in college.  I will pray for Amanda, as I lift up our Casey.

I am standing in the gap Father for Amanda, as I know how hard this is on a young person, as Audra has just gotten her cosmotology license and gone to work,  it has taken 2 years for her and taken alot more prayer.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers.  We learned today that Amanda has done well, B+'s, B's and one lowly C+..  One Prof. stated that her animations are the best he has ever seen from a student.  So God is good and is helping her to use the wonderful gift he gave her....

A few months ago she was asked to do a colored drawing of an African Lady to be used for a Cancer charity raffle.  So a large, lovely work was done, matted and framed and given as her gift to help.  Today the lady in charge phoned my daughter and said it had been won by an elderly man who is dying of cancer.  Seems he never before ever won anything and was totally delighted to have such a fine picture.  Also turned out that he has a daughter who is black.  They live in the area and he wants to phone Amanda and thank her, tho' barely able to talk due to the cancer.  So God is using our Amanda!

Wonderful news re: Amanda, Liz!  God will get all the glory as Amanda continues to develop and use this gift He has blessed her with.

Liz, I don't know how I missed this, but I'm sure Amanda can still use prayers, right?  How wonderful that God is using her and her talent in such unexpected ways.  Give her a hug for me, will you?  And then tell her to give you one for me, too!
