Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

They are doing the tests tomorrow in Amarillo.  Prayers for a safe trip and good test results will be most welcomed.  Thanks, friends.

Janet

After an almost sleepless night, getting up at 5 AM and a trip to Amarillo and back (about 430 miles) I am really weary.

We did not receive good news from the doctor today about Beth.  My heart is very heavy.  It is hard to see the keyboard or screen through my tears.  After about 2 1/2 hours of painful tests, he told us she has extensive nerve damage, muscle atrophy, and lack of electrical impulse conductivity in both legs and both feet.

After Beth left the room I asked about her prognosis and he said it is progressive and that Beth soon will be unable to walk at all any more.  And that there is not anything they can do to help her.  I am heartbroken.  I haven't told Beth this news yet; I don't know whether or not I should.  What do you think?  She is keeping a good attitude and trying to do all she can for herself; I don't want to do anything to discourage her.  I just keep going around and around in my mind about it.  Any advice?

Janet I suspect she already knows.  You will merely be confirming what her body is telling her.

My dear dear friend let your Lord carry you during this time.

JANET~Please be assured that He has already been there for you--both!  He loves you far more than you can ever imagine.  Let Him carry your burdens now, my friend.  Take care ... and know that I am praying--always.

Janet:  My prayers are for you and Beth while going through this test of faith.  Peace be with you.  Carol

 :-[ Ms Janet,

I am not so wise as so many others here in so many things. But I do know well the pain of heart.

Many times I do not get asleep because as today, I have a very bad mares of the pain of past times. Even as I did have this pain, there is no pain more bad than to watch the ones I love in pain.

With this I pray you will know Ms Beth will be ok with what will be. I do think she must know what is truth. And I pray for both of you in this time of troubles.  :-[

Maria

Janet i pray that GOD you and peace in your heaerts
and power will give.
I know Janet what it is pain in your heart.
God Bless YOU  BOOTH JANET

I'll be praying with you, Janet, as you work through this with Beth. Most certainly, we don't want our children to suffer and we grieve with them as we do our best to help them.

While I don't share the same disease, the outcome will be the same - a wheelchair. So, I empathize both with you in your distress, and with the physical and mental suffering that Beth is undergoing.

Oh how deep are our sorrows in this world!  Perhaps in speaking to Beth you can begin something like, "Beth, you probably already know what the doctor and I have to tell you.  You know how my heart aches, but I have to tell you that the news is not good."  I don't know, of course, why God has chosen Beth in particular to undergo this deep trouble, but He is honoring her with a frontline position against the enemies of pain and death in this world.  He wants her to go through this in order to show everyone how wonderfully He can sustain us in and through trouble.  He wants to be very, very close to her through the coming months or years of difficulty - to make it clear that He can and will hold His people through anything and keep them from falling - even then.  He loves Beth - very much - and in ways we cannot fathom He will hold her close to Himself in the days to come.
And of course all that He will do in and through her can and will be done also in and through you, Janet.  He can and will be very, very close to you also as you draw near to Him for help.
My prayer is simply that our Father will overwhelmingly enable you for this time.

Dear Janet: This mother's heart goes out to you. I know it will be  hard to give Beth this news about her prognosis but rest assured that God is with you and the Holy Spirit will give you the words to say. Sometime I think we mothers take this kind of news much worse than the child it pertains to. She has more than likely given this much thought and already knows the future outcome in all this. I am praying for you both dear sister. Love You.

I went to sleep with this on my mind as I was saying my prayers.  I agree.  I think Beth knows already....you and the doctor would only be confirming her thoughts.  She has probably read about how her future will be through her cyber NF friends.  God sometimes feels distant to us.  But He is with us at all times.  You may not feel his presence but He is there.

I agree with all the thoughts and prayers above...God loves you both.  I love you both.

Dear Janet,
My own thoughts and prayers are added to those of my brothers and sisters., for Beth and her whole loving family., especially for you dear. Cast your burden on the Lord and He shall sustain you sister.

Janet

Thank you all SOOO much for you faithfulness in praying.  I know your prayers gave me strength yesterday, and a return to my normal cheerful outlook today.  Yes, of course I am still very concerned, but I no longer have that awful black heaviness of spirit I had at first.  I will just dig into the Word, and pray, and I do believe she will be healed!

The loving people at Celebration Baptist this morning told Beth they want to come clean her house and to build a ramp and a handrail so she can get into her house more safely.  They are truly the Lord's hands outstretched to Beth.  I am so grateful to them for their loving response.

Bless you all!  We love you!

I'm so very thankful for the way God's people seem to come through fr us. This week I was just reviewing the life of a friend who passed away. Without him (and his wife) I don't know what I would have done during Sherman's last illness.

The ramp will be SO helpful, and the assistance in her home will also be a great lift for Beth.

My prayers for her continue.

Janet: After morning service today Pastor Judy and I prayed the prayer of faith for Beth's healing. Then at 4 o'clock prayer meeting the prayer team again stood in agreement with you for her healing where two are three come together He is in our midst. We are all in one accord on this dear Janet. The prayer team will continue to bring Beth to the throne of grace in their private prayers.

What a lovely thing the church is doing for our Beth, Janet.  That ramp will be so good.

Janet, praise God for His Church.  We are continuing to pray.  Something I have been wondering about.  Does Beth have a motorized wheel chair?  If not what could be covered by community support and Insurance?  Would there be a remainder for her to pay?  Is this a direction we should be praying toward to help her out?  I also wonder if this would make her more mobile?

Let us know.  Love and {{{{HUGS}}}}

Janet

Judy, I'm sure it will come to that, unless the Lord intervenes.  She is still able to get about by using a cane or walker, and grabbing onto things.  Not at all steady!

I have no idea of what would be covered by Medicaid (when she finally gets on Social Security Disability) so we will have to cross those bridges when we come to them.  I'm not sure she could use one inside her mobile home, as those hallways are pretty narrow.

Thanks for your concern, and I promise to keep you updated.

Janet, some of those motorized chairs, "Hoveround" for instance, look in the TV ads as though they'd manouver quite well in narrow hallways.  At any rate, we'll all be praying for healing long before any such decision is necessary.
