Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oh Janet.... we certainly will continue to pray for Beth - and add your Darrel to our prayer list too.

This is such an added burden that you didn't need.  God bless you sweetie.

I with the others.  I pray the doctors will have unusual insight and wisdom as they examine Beth, and that she'll get all these things truly sorted out and corrected.  Also Darrel.

Judy McKenna

Janet - keep us posted on Darrel's progress too - okay?

still remembering Beth every Thursday morning.  I also have a wonderful prayer partner. I have asked her to pray as well.

Hope you don't mind this..

Darrel has BPH (Or is it BHP?) Anyway, benign enlarged prostrate is what it is.  They have a brand new procedure called Green Light Lazer that they will use to open up the area around the  urether and correct the problems being caused by this.  I think they scheduled it for July 8.

I will update you on Beth when we get word from her doctors after they see her new MRI and complete the blood tests.  I think they took six tubes of blood from her today. :( Ouch!

Thanks for praying.

I will pray that the procedure for Darryl works.  It is probably not as complicated as it sounds, but I do believe that all surgery can be dangerous.

That was a lot of blood to take from one body.  Hopefully it will provide necessary answers.

These ups and downs surely must be taking its toll on everyone, Beth and John included. My prayers are with all of you.

Father, we're just remaining before Your Throne for Beth.  We pray Your best for her, and we pray that Your healing hand will be upon her to restore life and vitality to her now through Jesus our Lord.

Nita

Father.......please.  Let your Mercy be a covering over Beth and Janet. :'(

Al Moak

Amen to what Nita has spoken, Lord.

Janet

I thought it might be helpful as you pray for Beth to know some specific needs.  She needs to regain her strength, both in her upper body and her legs.  She needs a clear idea of what to do to accomplish this; therapy, plus grit to keep working on it on her own time.  Also, the steroids do not seem to be affecting her at all this time; so if there is any other medical therapy available, I am praying the doctors will have the knowledge of it.

Of immediate import, is that Dr. Cone will call her early this coming week to let us know what he found in her latest MRI.  She really can't make any concrete plans until we know this.

And of course, pray that she will turn to God for sustenance and His ever-present help.  Her faith seems to be lagging, and I can understand that; it's been a really long haul.  But we simply CANNOT give up and faint.  We MUST keep pressing in!

Thank you all so much.  :-*

Janet, I'm writing down your specific prayer needs listed so that I can agree with you before our Father.

Suzanne

Janet,
I am praying for Beth and you and your husband as well.

Marilyn

Janet I am praying for your family also and Beth's specific needs.

Oh Father I pray that you will strengthen Beth's legs and upper body, Lord she needs  your strength now as she no longer has her own, hold her up Lord, so that she will know that it is all your doing and not of her own. Father I pray that you will  instill  the doctors and therapists with new knowledge and wisdom , new treatments that will help Beth. I pray Lord that Beth will have good results from her most recent MRI and that she will hear those results first thing tomorrow morning.

Lord please give Beth wisdom  in her decision to travel to New York to see John. If this is not part of your plan for her at this time I pray that she will make the right decision  and be within your will Father. Lord I pray that Beth's dependance on you will not falter that she will come to you  in constant faith and prayer. In the name of Jesus Amen.

Thank you so much, friends.  A couple more things I need to add:  Beth's bowels and bladder are not functioning properly at this time, so prayers for those needs will be so helpful, too.  She didn't go to church because of this problem today---she was afraid things would start to move, and she couldn't get to the restroom in time.  She said it has been a WEEK since she had a bowel movement---I told her not to let it go so long from now on!

Oh Father, You see the needs far better than we do.  I pray Your mercy for both Janet and Beth and Your wisdom and sufficient insight for the doctors to deal in the best possible way with Beth.  We look to You, Father, for there is no other source of help.  Help, Lord.

Janet

Thank you all for the prayers.  I believe we are seeing the results of those.  Today, Beth seemed stronger, was able to move about better on her walker.  She even went with  me to lunch to celebrate one of our church friends' 50th birthday.  But she is too worn out to go to church tonight.  I just pray the improvement lasts, and continues.

Thanks so much for the update, Janet.  My friend and I prayed for her AND YOU today when we met for coffee.

Thanks Al, Pat and Ruth.  Beth was not feeling well at all today.  We are just taking things one day at a time, but then, I guess that's all we can ever do, isn't it?

I am also remembering all of you in my prayers.
Stay strong, Janet!

Janet, as you know I've had a great big flood--not a lot of water, just 5 gallons--but what damage.  Anyway, while cleaning it up and working away at this mess, I've had lots of time to pray and Beth has been heavy on my mind.  Tomorrow, I'm meeting with a Christian friend and we'll be praying for her together.  We did last week as well.

Thank you, friends.  Our trip to Amarillo yesterday was really stressful, for me, anyway.  Diane drove her car, which is a Yukon Denali, and it is quite a lot higher than my little Cruiser.  So it was really hard to get Beth into the car each time we had to make a stop.  It is so strange........her knees bend fine to sit down, but when trying to get her into a car, they are so stiff it is all I can do to bend them!

Anyway, Dr. Usala said she looked MUCH better, and seemed a bit stronger than 4 weeks ago when he put her back on the steroids.  She is happy that they haven't caused her to gain weight like the other kind she was on, in fact has lost a few more pounds.  She is quite thin now.  He said the tumor on her pitituary gland is quite small, and doesn't recommend any action on that at this time.  He does want her to go to a podiatrist to get fitted for some decent shoes, as she was wearing sandals that are a falling hazard.  Her feet are very wide, plus they are swollen.  We went to a sports/shoe store, and they had NO shoes in the store wide enough for her---men's or women's.  So she got some of those "crocs" which are at least more stable than sandals!  Then when we do get to the podiatrist, I hope she can get something a lot better for her.

Diane took me to Dr. Cone's office (her neurosurgeon) because when his nurse called, Beth didn't ask enough questions to satisfy me as to her condition.  The nurse told me that Dr. Cone said things are basically the same, except Beth now has a herniated disc in her neck.  I asked what we can expect, and she said that he said Beth will probably soon begin having severe headaches on a daily basis.

So in light of all these things, I am glad she is going to New York, except for my concern about how they will manage to get her on and off the planess, make the changes between planes, etc.  But I have to trust the airline personnel will take care of her.  I told her to stay as long as she wants, because I doubt she will be able to make that trip again.  (Her response? "I don't see why not!"  :-\ :'(

She and John have big plans:  a carriage ride through Central Park in NYC; a helicopter flight over NYC; a trip to Niagara Falls.  Well, I hope they can manage to do those things, as it will likely be a once-in-a-lifetime memory making trip for Beth.

Anyway, sorry to be so wordy, and thanks again for keeping us in your prayers.

Thanks, Janet, for sharing your concerns.  I know this has to weigh heavily on your heart but there comes a time when we just have to let go and let God.  Beth will learn, on her own, just what life is all about.  I pray John will be able to assist her in and out of transportation, etc.  Our Father has everything in control but we, too often, continue to be concerned for our loved ones.  Time and experience will "educate" Beth.  I am continuing to keep ALL of you bathed in prayer.  While Beth is gone will be a good time for you to take care of YOURSELF and get some much needed rest.
