This morning at Lipscomb during our second presentation Cornelia suddenly felt ill and said call 911 then sat down and and then collapsed. We got her from the chair to the floor. The anbulance got there right away. They took her directly to the Cath Lab. She had a massive heart attack. They removed a blood clot and put in two stents. She will be in Intensive Care tonight and if things go well maybe in three or four days will be able to come home. The doctor explained to me that there was a lot of heart damage but she could get well but would have to really take it easy. I know you will pray for her. Thank you for your prayers.
Ill try to drop back in tomorrow for a report.
Papa John

Papa John, I am also praying for Cornelia and you and for all of your loving family as I know you all are very concerned for her. It does sound like you got an encouraging report from the doctor.
I just thought I'd stop by to see if there is any news on dear Cornelia.
I'm still praying.
I posted this on NEM and thought I should put it here too.
We have been at the hospital all day. She seemed to be making progress until this afternoon when he had some kind of arrhythmia. The Cardiologist was called in and after awhile they got it under control. Anyway she remains in Critical Care Unit tonight.
I want to thank you all for your prayers. It was so nice to read all your posts and to know I have Christian friends from all over praying for Cornelia. I am at home now and plan to go to early service at church in the morning before going to the hospital. I know you will continue to pray. God is good whatever happens. We have had 56 wonderful years together and God willing we will have some more yet. I will plan to report back again tomorrow night.
Marilyn, thank you for trying to call. I just haven't been here all day.
I love you all.
Papa John

Papa John, I too am praying. Such a trying time for you.
I just received a Skype call from Papa John. Cornelia had another Heart attack last night. She is back in the hospital and was unconscious until today. Last night the Doctors thought it was almost hopeless for her to recover. However today she seemed a little stronger, regained consciousness, opened her eyes and smiled. I spoke first with his daughter and then when he had composed himself a little more Papajohn himself spoke with me.
Marilyn, thanks for posting your information. Poor Papa John. We'll keep praying.
PapaJohn, My heart and prayesr go out to you. I can fully understand your pain, anguish and tears. 9 years ago today I lost my first husband to a heart attack.
Dear Papa John ... I am so sorry to learn of Cornelia's recent setback... :( I am continuing in prayer for you both.
Father, thank You for being our heavenly Father. There's no other like You. Your love is adequate in EVERY situation, even this one faced by our Papa John. Oh make it manifest, Father. Grant to Cornelia Your peace and even joy. Grant to Papa John Your peace and a full awareness of Your Presence with Him. Oh Father, he has blessed us, and now I pray You will bless him at this critical time through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father we ask for your special touch on Cornelia tonight surround her with your Holy Spirit and give her your comfort and peace. Give wisdom and skill for all the doctors and tech people that are looking after her. Keep her safe and we pray for protection around her so that no harm will come to her. Give John comfort and peace in his heart to know that you are in control at all times.
In Jesus Name Amen
Papa John, we love you and are praying for both of you. God be with you.
Dear Papa John, I am praying for you and your wife, that Jesus will grant a speedy recovery and healing.
Thank you Jesus for hearing my pray. Amen!!!
In your difficult days may He grant you peace that passes all understanding.
"Lord we lift up Cornelia and Papa John at this time. We trust here with your hands Father. We ask for healing and courage to get through these hard times. Jesus please let them know that we care and that our prayers right now are for them for we ask in the name of Jesus."
Dave
Amen to Pastor Al's prayer.
Know I am continuing in prayer for you both.
Amen to all the prayers in here this evening.
Papa John, if you look in here, please know that my heart is aching for you tonight.
My prayer is that you will be aware of the warmth and love of our Heavenly Father as you snuggle down in the hollow of His wonderful hands. What a lovely place to be--kept by Him.
We love you so much and we are remembering you constantly.
PapaJohn, please know that you and Cornelia are in my thoughts and prayers, and we are all right with you at this time.
We do hope that your wife is able to make a full recovery. Our hearts are with you both at these troubled times. May the love of god be with you and your wife. This is a lesson for us all, our partners are'nt able to always be by our side. les
My prayers and thoughts are with you Papa John and Cornelia. I pray Cornelia recovers. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has begotten us agein to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Our Heavenly Fatherthe words of this hymn spring to mind ;
When peace like a river attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll.
Whatever my lot Thou hast taught me to know
It is well, It is well with my soul.
What a joy it is , to know that Cornelia is in YOUR safe hands whether in life or death. You are the giver of life to all and You are the bearer of our burdens throughout its harshest times. Father , you revealed Jesus to this family many years ago and they have held that testimony up for all to see.
As they have been a strength and blessing to the wider family so we in turn ask that you be their Peace , Comfort and Presence at this time of illness. For Papa John and family members who love and carry the greater concern, grant them strength of spirt and surround them also with your love. We ask this in the name that is above every name.....the name of Jesus. Amen.
Papa John my heart crys out to you in this difficult time. I know your faith will keep you both but that does not make it any easier. My prayers are with you and your whole family. Thanks Pat for bringing me in. AW
Papa John,
I'll be praying for this situation, during these trying moments.
May God Bless You & Use you to be a Blessing to someone else.
In the service Of Yje King,
Cyndi
Dear Brother Papa,
Praise God that you know who to turn to for help...Yes you lift up your eyes to the lord, and he hears you. We all stand with you, and agree on earth as touching this.
Lord you said lay hands on the sick and they'll recover. As our brother lays hands on, and prays for his beloved Cornelia, he's being faithful to your word, and we can know we have the petitions we ask of you.
Father, we ask a very simple prayer: HELP!!!! Our Father you know all the details, the hidden complications, the very roots of our health problems as well as everything else. Lord, get to this problem, and curse it at it's root. Make Cornelia walk in health even as her soul prospers.
Minister to her husband, our brother, in a way that only you can lord. Use us, and other parts of the body to speak words of encouragement, wisdom, peace and health.
I commit them to you lord, in the powerful name of our risen lord, our victorious lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.
Papa John, Pat and I are continuing our prayers for you both.
There is "family" praying in Japan!
kevin
My prayers are for your wife Cornelia, and you Papa John and your family. My heart goes out to you and your wife. God bless you both.
Papa John, I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue to give you, Cornelia, and all of your family strength, comfort and peace as His will continues to be done.
May you and all at your end experience our Heavenly Father's touch as His children gather to pray with & for you, including a family in tropical Malaysia.
God is Good & Great.
With Love, Blessings & Prayers,
Ron & Jen Kon-Wright
Dear Papa John, I am praying for Cornelia.
Love Ruthie
My heart is saddened by the news of this second heart attack. May God enfold you in his loving arms and give you strength and comfort. God loves you. We love you. God Bless You and Your Family.
Dearest PapaJohn> I have been praying throughout the night as I awoke. There was also a letter in my email from Norm Tock and one from Jenny expressing their heartfelt blessings for you and Cornelia. Amen to all the prayers that have been posted here, I could not have said it any better than those who have already posted.
I have a message, Papa John from Lee Kirkwood to you:
Dear Pat.
Please be kind enough to forward my heart felt prayers and love for both my sister and brother in Christ. We take eternal and lasting comfort that His loving kindness will always be with them in their lives and for all time to come. What wonderful "hope" we have in His atoning blood for us. My prayers are for both John and Cornelia, and may they take comfort in knowing He will never leave them in this most challenging of trials.
In His love.
Lee Kirkwood
Rev.1:3
Oh Pat how wonderful to hear from Lee. I have lost his email address with all my changing of my own address.
Just in from Norm Tock
I JUST hung up from talking Papa John and I am ready to post this in SN.
I just got off the phone with Papa John. The fist thing he said was "I have good news." Cornelia had the respirator taken off and is breathing on her own again. If anyone has had one of those things on you know how uncomfortable they are.
Is this a case of powerful prayers or just Dot's Miracle. I don't think we will ever know however we may turn it over to Fox News where they can talk about it and then rehash it year after year.
As he was done talking he said to tell all of you "She is still in critical care - She has a nurse with her one on one. Right now things look pretty good.
Papa John and Cornelia, we continue to lift you, in prayer, to our Father in heaven. You are so loved. Nita
Papa John, it is encouraging to hear the news from Norm Tock to Marilyn about Cornelia's improvement. I know it must be a blessing to you and your family there with you. God bless you as you continue your vigil by your beloved Cornelia's side. God is faithful to his Word, and all will be well no matter the outcome; yet we always hope for the best, which is "to God be the Glory."
Papa John,
I just now recieved the message about your wife. I wanted to let you know that you, your wife and your family are in my prayers..
Just looked into see this request.
Be assured across the miles I am joining with the rest of the people here and praying for Cornelia. Praying the Lord will strengthen you at this time Papa John.
Prayer will make a difference!
Papa John, the news relayed through Norm Tuck and Marilyn is encouraging. I know it makes your heart a little lighter. I am still praying, with the rest of the family, for God's BEST for you and Cornelia ... and that you will know the blessed peace that only He can give in such a time as this.
I had no idea that Marilyn had edited her post to add good news so I'm reposting it here in case there are others who may have missed it like I did:

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How can I ever thank you enough? I have read every post here. And as I read them tonight I thank God for such friends, all my brothers and sisters. God bless you all. As I lay down to sleep tonight it will be with another prayer of thanksgiving. First I thank God for blessing us and I thank God for my church family where I worshipped this morning. Beth took me for the early service and from there we went back to the hospital. And I thank God for YOU who have been so faithful in prayer for Cornelia. Tonight when I went in her new room in Special Care, a sstep down from Critical Care the nurse asked her, "Do you know who this is? She reached out her hand and said, "He's mine." I can thank God and praise Him for all he has done.
Papa John
Ohhh, Papa John. Now you have me crying. I remember one night when I nearly lost Jack and we were in a critical care room and they asked Jack if he knew me. He said, "Yes, she's mine and I love her!" and that was enough for me.
How precious are these little times of realization that the Lord gives us. I cherish them as I also cherish you.
I can't type more as my eyes are clouded over with my tears of thankfulness and joy that she's doing a little better and the memories that you have brought to me tonight of a wonderful time that I now remember with Jack.
May you feel the Lord's presence tonight as you go to sleep.
Pappa John I wil be praying for you and your wife I just got home from being away for the weekend so keep your strength in Him as he will always look after you. Gord.
I only saw the request today and I want you to know that I am praying for your wife and you too. I'm very happy to see in your reply that she is doing a little better. Same as Pat my eyes filled with tears when I read what she said to the nurse and I pray that she will be okay.
My the Lord bless you both and keep you safe.
Papa John, I have tears of joy. God Bless You and Cornelia. I am praying for both of you.
Papa John, such good news. I pray that Cornelia's condition continues to improve and that her surgery goes well.
Thank God for this improvement and I am praying for a speedy recovery for your wife.
Papa John, certainly a special moment and very touching. So glad to hear that Cornelia has been able to be moved out of critical care. They have wonderful monitoring devices now to keep track of our hearts. We are fortunate to be living in these times. Take care of yourself my friend. We continue to pray for you both.
Papa John,
I was glad when I read that Cornelia had been moved from critical care and I do trust that she will continue to improve. The Lord continue to bless you and your family.
Your friend in Christ.
Anthony.
I join the others in thanking God for Hid goodness to you, Papa John, and your dear wife Cornelia. May He grant you many more happy years together.
And......ANTHONY!! good to see you here. Please come back to NEM and post. I miss you, brother.
That is certainly good news Papa John.
<3 :'( <3 :) :clap:
Pappa John
I have just heard the news about Cornelia and myself and Sheila pray that she makes a speedy recovery. Sheila's sister has just also gone through the same ordeal praise be to God she is leaving hospital today. Yes we are fortunate to be living in the times where help is at hand in the field of medical care.
Also in the times that you know others are praying to help you through this ordeal.
I pray that all news will be good news.
Alan and Sheila
Papa John, I believe that I'm the last one to post. I only read about this just now as I opened my mail for the 1st time in quite a while. Your marriage past the half-century mark is such a blessing and encouragement to all and when she recognized you....Oh! what a miracle. I will be praying for both of you as you continue going through this valley. Isn't it wonderful to be a Christian and know that our LORD is there with you both. God bless you two.
Thanks to Pat or whoever sent out the request.
Father, thank You for giving Papa John and Cornelia these times and that relationship! It makes plain to both of them how gracious You have been to give them each other. And, Father, I ask that You continue to grant improvement, and, more than that, a full and blessed sense of Your love and Presence through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Oh, dear Papa John,
I have been away from CP with my whole "slew" of problems but when I read about your dear sweetie, my heart just ached.
Know that you and your wife/and family are in my prayers.
Please keep us posted.
Love in Christ,
Joyce
Dear Papa John & Camilla, I am continuing to pray for God to strengthen you. May you sense the presence of Jesus every hour.
