JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

It seems all I do is ask for prayer.  For that I am sorry to be such a pest.

My two children are deathly afraid of bee's, wasp's etc.  With it being spring time again, it has started up in a big way.  When you think of it, could you pray for them to have assurance that the bugs won't hurt them?  It's got to the point that they won't go out to play until late in the evening after the bugs have gone home.  And getting in and out of the car is like torture, dodging wasp's and yellow jackets.  Sometimes Alaska looks tempting!

Thanks,
Samantha

The kids are 8 and almost 10, you would think they would have gotten over it by now.

As far as we know neither one is allergic to stings, because they have never been stung before!

Babycakes, I will be praying for your children.  Fear is a big emotion in children and I pray that the bees, wasps will not be in their space.  I have a grandson who is allergic and is terrified of them.  However, he does play a lot outside.    The springtime is full of these insects.

Well, I no more got the request posted till we had a round with the insects.  Getting in the car to go to church a red wasp got in and the kids got out. We were 5 minutes late because of it.  Andy, my youngest would not get back in the car after I got the wasp out and I had to literally throw him back in.  Actually I didn't get the wasp out, and when we were getting back in after church, they saw it.  I had put the flyswat in the car though so that helped. (That and my husband, the insect killer!)

We can be a funny sight in the driveway getting ready to go somewhere!

After the pollen has stopped falling on everything it does get a little better, but please remember them that they won't be so scared, and that I'll have more patience with them concerning their fears.

Thanks,
Samantha

Babycakes - Try making a little game out of it with Andy.  Get him his OWN flyswatter.  Tell him he is in charge of swapping flys, ants on the sidewalks, etc.  Perhaps if he is able to swat a wasp himself, he will see that it can be fun.

Naturally you have to supervise closely, so that if the wasp or bee becomes aggresive, you can "finish the job"! :D

Just remember all the critters running wild up there in Alaska and bee's won't seem so bad.

As a solution to the bees and wasps...find the nest and after dusk spray it....not before as the bee's/wasp's will be coming and going.  At night they are are all in the nest....sleeping...or however it is they rest after flapping their wings all day.

If you should get stung do not pull out the stinger.   Squeezing it will only cause more venom to be released.   Rather scrape it off with a stiff card or your fingernail.

A bee stings once and dies.  A wasp can sting multiple times.

Father:  I ask you to remove this spirit of fear from the children.  I ask you to help Samantha & Terry find the nest and be able to remove them without harm. I ask this in Jesus' name.

Thank you Judy, Kathy and Ed for your prayers for the kids.

Andy goes to the car with the flyswat (and everywhere else we go)  We went to the beauty shop and I had to drag him out with him holding the flyswat because of the big bees flying around the door.  We were a sight!  There was a lady sitting in her car and I can just imagine what she thought! ;D

Funny thing is: last year my daughter was the one terrified, and Andy was more laid back about it.  Now she is still afraid, but not shaking in your boots afraid like he is.  She just wants to make it til her birthday without getting stung.  Then it will be 10 yrs she has lived without getting a bee sting.  To her, that's a major accomplishment!

If she makes it to Monday she will be alright.

Thanks again,

Samantha
