Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

A while back I posted a request for prayer for our daughter.  She is going to file for divorce this week.

Her husbands porn addiction has not ceased and she is concerned for her children.

I just ask that God give her direction and a peace about this next HUGE step.

This is definitely something that needs to be handled with prayer ... I am praying Ed.  God is still in absolute control ...

Ed - I am so saddened about this. I DO recall ou asking prayer about this situation before.I often wondered how things were going.

I will be in prayer, Ed, that everyone will remain calm, and that its the children who must come first!

God bless you, brother.

UPDATE: Our daughter contacted one lawyer, but wasn't happy. She's now looking for a chistian lawyer.  She is attending a conference this weekend on addictions.

She told her husband of her plans to file for separation and how she wanted to save the marriage.  He shrugged it off and said he would get his own lawyer.

How upsetting that must be for you and for her.  I'm sorry everyone is going through this.  It is amazing to me that in spite of all the evidence, people continue to insist that porn doesn't harm anyone or is simply an art form.

Amen Sara.  Still praying Ed

Daughter went to conference in Chicago last weekend, Every Woman's Battle, dealing with the same problem her husband has..  She went fully expecting to be justified in ending the marriage (if it became necessary)  What she found out is that there are plenty of women whose problem is greater than hers.

While daughter was gone his mother talked to him and told her that she known about the problem for at least 2 years.

He has agreed to attend Every Man's Battle in D.C.  We are hoping that through this conference he will realize what he is doing to his marriage and to his family.

Pray for him that he will keep this appointment and especially May 19-21.

Ed, that is encouraging news as recognition of a problem certainly has to be the first step.

I will continue to pray for this situation, Ed.  This is an addiction that is nearly impossible to "break" on your own.  There is a deep seated unmet need/unhealed hurt for which he is trying to find an answer.  Only the healing touch of Holy Spirit can heal this source of pain.  He will.  I pray your son-in-law will realize this and surrender himself to God's touch in his life.

Hi Eddie:

This is so encouraging, that your daughter and son-in-law have consented to get marriage therapy.  I will be praying for them.

Ed,

I agree with the above quoted statement here.  And I will be praying that the Holy Spirit will intervine in this situation, where the hold on this divorce is long enough, that they decide to allow the power of the Lord to work on their marriage & heal & make everything so new & exciting for them, that they will praise God for their new marriage.  I know it is within the power of the Lord to do this & I've known someone with whom the Lord did this with.

My friend & her husband were headed separate directions in their marriage & neither one of them were saved.  They got saved @ the same time, on the same day, in different environments.  And the Lord has healed their marriage & blessed their marriage abundantly.  They couldn't have children no-matter how hard they tried & I believe when they allowed the Holy Spirit in their lives to make this possible, they got an answer to prayer &  shortly thereafter: the Lord gave them three boy's.

May This situation be left in Gods hands, that we may glorify Him, for he has the power to save this marriage.

May God Bless You,
Cyndi

I'm praying that God will do that wonderful restitution and healing thing that only He can do!!

In a stroke of sheer originality...I'm gonna say "Ditto" to Karmat's post!

Al Moak

I've got more originality than Ritz - I'm NOT going to say ditto.  I'm going to say, "Amen!"

Son-in-Law left this morning to attend the conference that daughter wanted him to go to.  Pray if you think of him this weekend.  He comes back Sunday May 21, hopefully a changed man........

Son-in-law came back from Every Man's Battle Conference on Sunday...wearing dog tags saying he was committed to Christ.  He left his notebook out for daughter to read.

He is supposed to initiate a talk with her about what went on.  Waiting for that to happen.

Pray that he stays committed to whatever he promised and that he not weaken.

Thanks for the positive report, Ed.  Now comes the "test" of his commitment -- where the rubber meets the road, so to speak -- and he will most certainly need prayerful support from all concerned.  It takes an effort to make such changes become a way of life.  God is able ... and willing ... and He never fails.

 only God can change his heart so i commit his heart to God and let God change his heart. I also pray for your daughter to remain believing in Jesus's love that God can do miracle in her marriage. Nothing impossible for her because God can do anything for her.

Ed

It appears that a minor miracle has happened.  In their discussion, he admitted that what was going on was completely his fault.  Before when when confronted, he would say it was her fault.

He has decided on an accountability partner...our other son-in-law who is a deeply committed christian.

PTL

P.S. Are there any such thing as "minor miracles?"  I think not.

That's great to hear, Ed.  Our God is an AWESOME God, indeed.  I will continue to hold this family up in prayer.

It has now been nearly 2 months since our son-in-law came back from "Every Man's Battle."  Everything seems to be "steady as she goes."  Though I have not talked to him about his addiction, I know our daughter is watching him close.

The tale will tell after this week.  Our daughter & her daughter are in Japan.  The granddaughter is an exchange student.  Daughter returns on Thursday.

If I know her she will be checking the video places in the area to see if he rented any films while she was gone.......she will be silently praying that he has remained true to his promise.  Me too.

It's been a while since I posted any update.  Our daughter has decided to file for divorce instead of separation.  Actually the state of Michigan does not have anything like a legal separation.

She caught him in another lie about purchases of porno material.  She bought a book about singer Clay Crosse's porno addiction and deliverance from it..... for her husband to read.  He's reading it.

It seems everytime she gets to the point of filing...she sets a deadline for him to seek help....he surprises her with a step towards healing.

In real life, they are not speaking to each other, they communicate by notes.  She left him a note with the book and asked him to read it.  He left her a note saying he would (and he is)

We pray for to have strength, wisdom for her and protecting the children from harm
