Hi To my fellow brothers and sisters.

This is a complicated situation. I come from a family of dysfunction. I myself am a survivor of incest and other abuses which include torture. My parents are mentally ill and are also alcoholics.

I have forgiven them and love them. In fact if it wasnt for being abused and being treated the way I did I wouldn't have come to know Jesus.

My father has told me that he has basically disowned me and that e no longer considers me a member of he family. He did this becuase I have accused them of doing what they did to me. It amazes me that I was the recepient of the abuse and they want to disown me.

My brother and I do not have a strong relationship, actually its next to nothing. He happens to side with them. He wont talk to me fully unless I take back what I said about them

I love all three of them. I don't like the way things are. I want them all to come to the LORD but it will take a miracle for it to happen.

Please pray for them and for me and my family were going through tough times. Thank You.

Man, what trials! We are about to have family worship, so I'll make sure we pray for you and your family.

I just read through some of your posts that you have shared with us here, please feel free to send me a private message if you need a brother to talk to when the trials get overwhelming.

Hi Rich

I read your post and I must say It has really saddened my heart, but I can see good that has already come from It. The fact that this has caused you to turn to the Lord is good. You see God can and will use whatever he chooses to accomplish his will. You have really upset Satan by turning to the Lord but don't let that discourage you. Satan will leave his own alone and go after God's people because they are a threat to him. That in itself is a good sign that you are on the right track. Rich you keep living for the Lord, you keep praying for your family and you keep looking for that miracle.

Father in heaven I pray for your grace to be with Rich, I pray you will equip him with what he needs to be a good witness to his family and I pray for the miracle that he is asking for. I pray that your grace will be so strong that all else will be removed from the thoughts of Rich and he will be focused entirely on the salvation of his family. I pray that you will work In the lives of his family and make them receptive to you and the witnessing of Rich. I know Lord that it all has to come from you and that you are a rewarder of those that diligently seek you Hbr 11:6. Seek Him Rich with all your heart, soul and being Psa 119:2. Father we ask these things in Your Sons Holy Name. Amen

Rich, I am so glad that the Lord worked this way in your life - you coming to know HIM through the things that have happened in your life. Keep praying for your brother and parents. Stand up for yourself. God can work a miracle in their lives - just as He has done in your own life. Hold on to God and pray every day for them. I am glad that you can forgive them - so many can't. God is glad that you have forgiven them. Don't give up on them or GOD.

"Lord, guide Rich and be with him through this that he is now facing. Be with him and open his eyes to YOU. Thank you God for helping Rich find peace (Your peace) in his heart to be able to forgive his parents for what they did to him. Put your loving arms around him and hold him tight. Put your arms around his brother and his parent, Lord they need you. We all need you. You are an awesome almighty and powerful God - thank you for sending your son to die for me - us. We are not worthy, but you still love us unconditionally. Help us to see others as you see them. Open our hearts Lord.

My dear brother Rich:  I agree - what a bunch of trials!  But I also agree with the others - it's done you the greatest good in the universe!  I agree with you that it will take a miracle for your family to come to the Lord, but, Rich, it takes a miracle for ANY of us to come to Him!  It's always a miracle of God's grace through the moving of His Holy Spirit within that moves people to repent and believe and to then rest upon Jesus.  I pray for that miracle for your family just now.

I'd also suggest something else.  First, ask your Lord to reveal to you any areas of your life that offended not only your family, but God as well.  Then, carefully and taking all the time needed, list those things down.  Confess them to your Father in Heaven, being always aware that they are laid upon Jesus upon the Cross.  Then pray for even more grace - grace to confess where needed to family members as well.  Then write a letter to the ones you've wronged, confessing specific sin.  Also add, in the letter, that you forgive them, leaving the things wherein they hurt you all to God alone to deal with, and tell them you do and will love them.  Pray again.  For them and for yourself.  You'll experience a cleansing that'll give you strength for a godlier life. 

I pray, just now, for our Father's grace to be in your life as you consider these things.  I pray He'll grant them to you through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear Rich, your mind is probably full of hurt, and bad memories, and rightly so, man's inhumanity to man is really terrible to behold, but God will gradually heal your mind if you follow Paul's advice below


[ Meditate on These Things ] "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."

I pray the Holy Spirit will fill you to the utmost with the wonderful love and forgiveness that Jesus had.."Father forgive them..."

I am so sorry about what happened to you, but I am very happy that you came to Jesus through it. 
Father in Heaven,
Please heal and bring together this broken family, and let Rich be a powerful witness to them.  Bring them to you, Lord through Rich and this circumstance.  You are a healer of bodies and broken hearts and spirits.  Put your healing touch upon Rich.  I thank you and praise you, Lord.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
