Please pray for dear friends of ours (and for their families here in the states) who have been falsely imprisoned in Haiti for trying to assist 33 orphans from an existing orphanage that had been destroyed by the earthquake in Haiti into the Dominican Republic--God is in control but we need to be faithful and hold them up continually in prayer and especially tomorrow as they stand before the Haitian judge. (Monday)

These folks are from our sister church here in Idaho.  Our youth pastor and his son from our old church are with them, too.  Their names are Paul and Silas.  Kind of ironic, hu?  Knowing them, they are singing praises in prison, too.  The night they were arrested, they led a man to Christ!  Please remember to pray for them and the others and their families tomorrow.

What are they in prison for?   Yes I will certainly be praying!

My friend posted this on her facebook status: "is praying for her friends in Haiti. This tells the truth in a nutshell. Please remember all of these children were already in the care of an orphanage. Some children are left in the care of the facilities in Haiti by parents who are not able to take care of them in hopes that someone else might be able to feed and take care of their children."

We had one of our missionaries from Haiti at our church yesterday, and he was struggling to tell us about the devastation over there.

Sorry you couldn't see the video, Judy.  The pastor doesn't know a whole lot that has happened since they were arrested because their cell phones were taken away.  They thought they had their paperwork in order, to take these children over the border, but they were told they still needed a certain paper.  They were held up for hours as they awaited the other paper and they aren't able to locate the pastor they had been working with at the orphanage, to help substantiate their purpose for being there.  From what I understand this mission trip was already being planned and then was expedited due to the situation there with the earthquake and all.

Those are the facts, to the best of my knowledge...thanks for praying.  Will update as I get new info.

It seems from the media today that media and government stance about this situation seems to be easing just a bit. Oh, how difficult these things can be.

Our Father, we thank You for all your blessings, and we ask that You pour Your love and joy in these fellow christians imprisoned in Haiti. And, we also ask that our Comforter will be with them.

May the authorities and the media be softened in their stance, and may the true circumstances around this situation be made known, then mercy extended to those who have been giving mercy to those who are so needy.

We love You, and praise You for all You do in us and for us, and ask that You be with all those injured, displaced, and those suffering with grief from the loss of their loved ones.

We believe You are working in and through this situation, and that You will be glorified through it all.

Thank you all for your prayers for these families.  One of the girls, 18yrs. that's down there graduated with my daughter last May.  Please be praying for the children, too.

Things just went terribly wrong with this mission, on the other hand, God has allowed this so I'm confident it is part of His plan.  Apparently, the "rules" about the paperwork that was necessary had changed between the time they group left for Haiti and when they reached the border with the children.  They hadn't heard about the change.

It's so hurtful to hear what the media is saying.  Even our local media and people who call in are saying things like they are dumb to just think they could go down there and take children with no documentation, and that they are kidnappers.  I can't imaging how hard it is on their family members still here in the states.  It's frustrating how the media is so slow to condemn the panty bomber, saying alleged, but isn't giving this group of Christians the benefit of the doubt or letting them be innocent until proven guilty.  I'm praying that the truth will come out and that the truth will set them free!

This promise is both for my friends in jail and the children involved: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:11-12 

Kathleen, we're praying here.  Been so difficult to watch the news broadcasts about this.

The media is out to sell news that is their mandate.  All I look at media for is that "something happened.". They don't care about truth. I know people who go through withdrawal if they don't hear every newscast.

What we hear and what the truth is, can be very confusing.  Just know we are praying!

I agree.  I don't watch or listen to the "lamestream" media, but when I am listening to the conservative radio talk shows, my local news has been updating every half hour as part of their news breaks on the radio.

The distortions in the "lamestream" (love that!) media are worse than I even imagined!  They are saying the missionaries were trying to bring the children to the U.S.  From what you said, they were only taking them into Dominica.  

My husband and I were talking about this last night as we watched the news.  I get most of my news from Fox.  There is a reason why "you know who" hates Fox News!

I'm continuing to pray.  This is a tragic situation that will certainly be solved to God's glory.

Why only 9 and not the full 10!  This is a foreign government ..... different rules.

News tonight on FOX that these missionaries might be released tomorrow?  Kathleen, have you heard anything different?

I've heard the news on Reuter's and Fox that an un-named source has said they will all be released as early as tomorrow, but after last weeks report of them possibly being released, I'm just waiting for confirmation and continuing to pray.  I'm praying it's true this time!  I did also hear that they parents of some of the children testified that they freely gave up their children.  Here's the link to the Reuter's story...http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE61960R20100210?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews&rpc=22&sp=true

Yes, Kathleen....  Continuing to pray.   When this is all over and they are safely home, maybe they'll be interested in seeing this topic on here. 

My friends and 6 others arrived home in the USA!  Praise the Lord!  Please continue to pray for them as they reunite with their families and get settled again and deal with all the media. 

Also, please continue to pray for the other two woman.  Pray that they will be released tomorrow.  They have not been taken care of in that prison and one of the women is having health issues because of it.

Oh, my!  It's so good to read this news.  I had heard on FOX that only 8 were released.  Hopefully, the other two will be soon.

I saw this on the news last night and I was so pleased.  Now for the other two!!!

Went to the WELCOME HOME time at the Boise airport as three of the missionaries returned home; one of whom my daughter graduated with last May.  What a glorious time is was.  Our God is truly an awesome God!  It was so great to see these families reunited and a blessing to be able to help keep the media back so they could have those initial moments at least a little bit private.  Thanks so much for all of your prayers. 

Please continue to pray that the other two will soon be released, as well.

I haven't heard anything about the last of the missionaries.  Have they been released yet?

There's only one left down there in the Haiti prison, she's the one who organized the trip.  They have some new bogus charge against her.  Just pray that the truth will set her free and that it will be soon.  Thanks.
