Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

I've not been much interested in things lately.  My wife filed for divorce, and I'm devastated.  Anyhow, my prayer request is for you to pray for God's will to be done...  I would do anything to stop this but I Corinthians 7:15 is what I'm being counseled to follow.  Please pray for me to have strength.  I do have a praise in this...  The Lord is carrying me right now, and I know that there is a purpose in this.  I thank the Lord for this time to grow closer to Him...

Thanks

Jim

Oh Jim, this is such a tough time!  I pray that our God would indeed carry you through this and provide you with answers.  I also pray your wife will come to know Jesus Christ.

Marilyn

Jim, I pray that all this will work out for you, bringing you closer to the Lord and that your wife will feel the compassion of the Lord within her heart. Forgiveness being the first and foremost thing on both of your hearts. I pray the God will give you strength and  give you back your joy in Him.
Please know that  we are praying for you.

I am prying for you Jim.

Jim, I'm so terrible saddened by this news.

I'm so happy that you thought to bring your prayer request here and please know that I'll be praying for you.

You have a friend in our Saviour and He's a Friend that is closer than any brother/wife/anyone.  Cling to Him.

Don't be a stranger here.  Let us help you through this terrible time.

Jim

Thank you all.  I feel so much closer to the Lord now, but my interest in other things - computer, photography, eating, breathing, etc. - is pretty low.  I believe the Lord is going to bring us back together, but the wait and despair are sometimes right at the limit of what I can handle.  The Lord always carries me through the roughest times though...  Actually, I think He's carrying me through everything right now.

The weird thing is that my love for her is actually growing...  I never would have expected that.  The Lord is also showing me things in my life that I need to change.  It always takes two to ruin a marriage, but I'm finding that I had a lot more hand in it than I thought.

My prayer is for the Lord to make me into the man He wants me to be.

Oh, dear sweet Jim...  I feel your pain.  I just wish we were closer.  The Lord definitely is working in your life and I pray that the Lord will also work in your dear wife's life as well and that she'll realize that the vows were "...till death us do part..."

I know that at times like this you don't feel like doing anything.  You can't pray as you ought.  But claim that verse in Romans, Jim.

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

I've had to claim that verse so very often in my life.

Do you have a good pastor who you can talk to?  At times when you can't pray, those are the times when it's so good to have a pastor or close Christian brother come and just pray with you.

Jim, we love you and please know that I'm sitting here right now praying for you and your dear wife and that lovely little child of yours that we've seen photos of.  I'm weeping with you as well.

Jim, it sounds like you are growing through this experience and I also hope you and your wife will be able to reconcile the differences.  Pat gave you very good advice.  I have been praying for you and your wife.

Jim:   Such sad news I am always saddened when I hear this sort of thing happening.  Lean on the Lord and He will carry you through.

Jim, I think we all just want to cry with you.  Shared pain is easier, and I'm so glad you were able to tell us here.

Don't ever forget, while you're going through this journey of sadness, that God has already been here in this place, He knew before it ever happened, that He would be here caring for you in the midst of your pain.  And He has a plan for you.
Sometimes, that's enough to remember.  You're His own dear son.  When you fall, fall on Him.   What you cannot feel now, dear brother, Jesus will feel for you.  He is holding you now, as you said.   I know we'll all be holding you in prayer.

You are learning the lessons He has for you, you have a teachable spirit, and you are humbly allowing Him to expose our own faults. Sometimes separations are for individual healing.  I pray that this will be the case, and that your family will be restored to you as you worship God in simple trust.

Hi Jim...

Just thought I'd post to let you know I just prayed for you and your wife.

Don't be a stranger, sweetie.

Jim

Thank you all.  I do have pastors I'm praying & counseling with.  I am grateful that I still have opportunities to serve God, and the truths He is showing me are real.  It has been a time of self reflection.  I have gone from blaming her to realizing that I'm the problem.  I don't know that the Lord will bring her back into my life, but I do know that the Lord has a plan for me.  I know that whatever hardship there is in my life, good will come of it.  Though I don't understand now, someday I will look back on this situation and say Glory to God for the great things He has done...

I think of Jesus riding into Jerusalem just before He was crucified.  He felt rejection then, crying that if they had only known the time of their visitation He would have gathered them under His wings as a hen does with her chicks.  Right now, I'm hiding under His wing.  Thank you all for your prayers.  My focus of prayer is on Lynnette's relationship with the Lord.  I don't want her to come back without a full commitment to Him, because without that, there will be no way it will work.  With a full commitment to the Lord, I would be satisfied.

I am praying for you Jim, I know this is a very hard time in your life.

Standing for your marriage is a life changing experience.

Jim - one thing that I've seen to be helpful in the past is the writing of letters.  It's very difficult, if not impossible, to communicate with your wife directly, but if you write a letter to her, as well expressed as can be, she'll have it all before her at one time and can't merely turn you off at one point or another.  Be sure to include ALL your feelings, your repentance for your shortcomings, and your hope for both your future and hers.  Make sure in it that she understands how much you care about her.

Marilyn

Jim I am still praying for you and for Lynette.
Pastor Al has given you some great advice.
I am stitting here with tears in my eys felling your pain.
I have been there more times than I care to admit,
I was married 5 times, each time looking for the
perfect love that can only be found in Jesus.

Dear Jim - one more thing - don't hold Lynnette's conversion over her as a requirement.  The work of grace is just that - a work of grace.  It's not her work, your work, or anyone else's work, but only that of the Holy Spirit.  I can't tell, and neither can you, how our Lord will work.  It may be that she'll need to go through hard things as He brings her to Himself before she comes back to you.  Or it may be that He would bring her back first and work through your love to reach her.  Leave it to Him, brother.  He definitely knows best.

Pat

Hi Jim...

Been praying for you today.  Wondering how you are doing.  Please don't be a stranger on the site.

Jim - my heart aches for you.  You have been given invaluable advice here.....from professional counsellors such as Pastor Al.

The idea of writing your wife, is an excellent one.  You can express yourself calmly, and without getting "stressed", like you might in person.

Please know, that I love you, in the Lord, and am praying also.
