Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Psalm 93

This is another psalm of pure praise without complaint or petition.  It's praise in its simplest form - simply telling the Lord how great and good He is.

Picture the psalmist standing on the seashore, observing the crashing of mighty waves and hearing the sandy hiss of their return to the sea again.  Over and over again it happens without ceasing, and it moves him to think of the Covenant Lord God of Israel, the Lord Who is eternally high and lifted up above all the clashing noise and tumult of the rebellious hordes living upon His earth.  He was there before them, and He shall continue unchanged after they perish.

He says, "The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves - the Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea!"  The truth is that you could take all the mighty waves, one after another; add them together to make the most thunderous roll and the mightiest conceivable crash, and then you could multiply them unimaginably – but still the Lord's might and strength are INFINITELY greater!

So then, as the psalmist moves away from the shore, as the noise fades into the distance, what is his conclusion?  He says, "Your testimonies are very sure; holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever!"  He's just saying that the greatness of our God is what assures the absolute certainty of His Word, and His holiness – His separateness from all creation, His unapproachable majesty – assures that nothing will finally deviate from that Word.

"Holiness," in fact, just means separation – when we say He's a holy God, we mean that He's entirely separate from all the noise and tumult of this world.  He is so majestic as to be unaffected by it all.  And His Word therefore stands - unaffected and sure.  You can count on it no matter what happens here below.  And of course that means that you can count on the permanence of His care for each of His people too!  Even with all the turmoil of your life – He's still there, unchanged and unchanging!

Is He your God?  Does He fulfill His promises to you?  The words of Peter were so appropriate for us when he said, "Lord, to whom shall we go – Thou hast the words of eternal life!" (Jn. 6:68)

Ruthie

Hi Al.
I have just discovered your message on Psalm 93 and have enjoyed it very much.  I am going to read and meditate on what you have said.  The Psalms are so comforting and so often I can relate to David who wrote most of them.  Thank you.     Ruthie  :)
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

I love your descriptions of the waves Pastor Al.

How wonderful that Our God is unaffected by the storms of life....He can stand back ...He has everything in perspective.

Now I know why I woke early and came down here for a quiet time..................................I am going to have another look at this Psalm, with a cup of tea......quite away from the "storms"of the last couple of weeks.

You bring these Psalms to life for me Al.  Bless you!

Thank you, dear Jenny, and may our Father bless them to your soul and your life.
