QuoteMarilyn - these kids are three (out of 4) of the Gross kids, a family in our church. I've sort of adopted these kids as extra grandkids and their mom as extra daughter. They're wonderful! That's Sam, Johanna, & Sarah, going from left to right. Any chance you could post these for me?

This one didn't turn out so good and I fixed it as much as I could. (m)

The elk are in rather large numbers about 30-35 miles north of us here on the Redwood Coast. That's where Orick is - it's a very small town just north of what you see here.
Chris and Leslie Gross are our closest friends in the church here. He's a member of staff as I also am (you might call them elders or something like that). H's the church treasurer, and I help him with the count every Sunday AM. His wife, Leslie, is a wonderful mother. Her dad lives some little distance away, so can't get up here too often. He and I get along beautifully, though, when he's here. So we've kind of adopted Leslie as our daughter too. Those kids are FUN! And they come to me for a hug every time they see us!
Al according to the sign on the Freeway, Orick is 20 miles north of us here in McKville,
The kids look like they like to pile up on you when you sit down. Be careful don't get hurt.
Church families are the best. Since I don't have any grandchildren of my own, I take any child that will have me as their grandmother. I love it when Ivalou's grandkids slip and call me Grandma!
I'm with you, Etta Sue. These kids actually said on one occasion that I was like their real grandpa. I can't say I just hated to hear that! They do "pile up on me" alright. I've had to have them take off their shoes sometimes before they do it. Otherwise my shins are at risk!
Marilyn - I know the sign says 20, but I've actually measured on several occasions, and it's closer to 30. Anyway, the elk are all the way from just north of Trinidad to Orick. You have to be careful of going too fast, because you'll run right smack into them.
Nothing in the world compares to the joy of having little ones run to you and hug your neck! Glad you have these blessings in your life, Al.
Lovely photos, Al. You're going to have to open a gallery in the CP Photo Gallery and learn to post your own! LOL
Nice pictures, Al. Kids and animals....my personal favorites.
Al, you look just like you'd be their grampa. Those little darlings looked perfectly comfortable piling on you. :) Nita
