This weekend, Casey and Ashley flew down to Austin to see friends.   They had tipped off Meagan about it, but kept us in the dark.    This weekend was Mrs. Barbarian's birthday, and when I took her to her favorite restaurant, they were waiting for us.   (Meagan told me, just before we left)   Happy tears and long hugs.    



We hadn't met Ashley, and she turned out to be a wonderful person, cheerful and interesting and somewhat like Mrs. Barbarian in some ways.  

(Edit: the picture was taken elsewhere; I didn't take Mrs. B. to McDonald's for her birthday.   That would not have been a good decision...   :clobber:)

Word is that guys tend to look for the qualities of their Mother...  Seems this is right.  This is a lovely picture!
