JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Escape and Return
Matthew 2:13-23  NLT

13After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up and flee to Egypt with the child and his mother," the angel said. "Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to try to kill the child." 14That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother, 15and they stayed there until Herod's death. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: "I called my Son out of Egypt."

16Herod was furious when he learned that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, because the wise men had told him the star first appeared to them about two years earlier. 17Herod's brutal action fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah:

    18
"A cry of anguish is heard in Ramah--
       weeping and mourning unrestrained.
    Rachel weeps for her children,
refusing to be comforted--for they are dead."

19When Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and told him, 20"Get up and take the child and his mother back to the land of Israel, because those who were trying to kill the child are dead." 21So Joseph returned immediately to Israel with Jesus and his mother. 22But when he learned that the new ruler was Herod's son Archelaus, he was afraid. Then, in another dream, he was warned to go to Galilee. 23So they went and lived in a town called Nazareth. This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophets concerning the Messiah: "He will be called a Nazarene."
How has knowing God brought excitement into your life?

Herod was afraid that this newborn King would one day take his throne.  He completely misunderstood the reason for Christ's coming.  Jesus didn't want Herod's throne--he wanted to be king of Herold's life.  Jesus wanted to give Herod eternal life, not take away his present life.

Today people are often afraid that Christ wants to take things away, when in reality he wants to give them real freedom, peace, and joy.  Jesus wants to be King of your life.  Have you let him sit on the throne?

Carol ~ Kitty is my new/old friend.  I had met her before but wouldn't have known her if she knocked on my door.  Her husband is a high school classmate of mine and I was working with him on addresses and phone numbers of classmates and he said to email Kitty with new additions since his computer is sick at the office.  That was about 6 weeks ago and since, Kitty and I have emailed each other every day with personal emails.  I think I know her about as well as I know myself now!!  I will have to ask her if you name is Kitty or if Kitty is a nickname.

Tonight I am going with Kitty and her SIL to a library.  The two authors for 'Unexpected Indiana' will be there for a talk and book signing.  The book is photography of unexpected places in Indiana.  May or may not purchase the book.  May just look at it at the library in Noblesville since I got my card in the mail yesterday.

I am praying that it isn't so hot and muggy today.  When you step outside, it feels like you have stepped into a steamy bathroom after a hot shower!! Yuck!!

:) Greetings in the name of the Lord.  I was doing a google search for Christian photograpers and this site came up first.  The purpose for the google search, me and my fiancee have a wedding date of January 6, 2006 in Miami and have been trying to secure a photographer.  Considering we are two young and struggling Christians the quotes we've received have been in excess of $1,200.  I came aboard hoping to network with any photographers in the Miami area that could shoot our ceremony and reception for a nominal fee as a Christian courtesy.  Nicole and I would love to be able to pay the higher end quotes but unfortunately cannot, so here I am trusting in the Lord that this site could lead to answered prayers.  Maybe even a barter system could be arranged.  I am a paralegal and Nicole is a computer programmer/website designer.  I am in New York and Nicole is in Michigan.  Any referrals or help would greatly be appreciated.  Sincerely your brother in Christ.  Sekou Jabez. :)

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at the cafe.  Hardly anyone there today.  Some days they are very busy and other days very light.  It is a pretty and sunny day but suppose to get pretty hot.  This is my Calvin Cove day but the director called me yesterday afternoon and asked if I would like to have a week off.  It seems they started an art project of some type yesterday and didn't get as far along with it as she had hoped.  I told her it was no problem at all and it just means I can take a longer nap this afternoon.   It also means I don't have to get out in the heat this afternoon.

Yesterday as we were leaving the house to go up to the mall area it started pouring rain.  We kept driving out of it but it kept following us.  We had about 8/10th of an inch here and I expect they had the same amount up there in a short period of time.  By the time we got to the place we were going to eat it had stopped and just turned very muggy.  We were able to get several errands done as Pat had a really good day where her hips didn't pain her with every step as they have for quite awhile.  She is convinced the pain is coming from the fibromyalgia she suffers.

Etta Sue, thanks for the fine devotional this morning.  It is nice that you have made a good new friend.  It sounds like you have a lot in common and it is always nicer to do things with others than jut by yourself.

I have several projects to work on today so guess I had better get started.  I want to welcome our new members and encourage you to post as that is the way we get to know each other.  I hope that everyone will be able to enjoy this day that God has given us.

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a very busy day ahead as well Larry.  So very shortly I must get a move on.  I'm also trying to move stuff up to this room and move my computer down to the bigger room down there and it's difficult doing some of it by yourself but yesterday it was so nice to have my grandson here who helped with a chest of drawers.  He's gone now.

Welcome to our new folks!  (I removed the glow from your post Sekou so that it would be easier to read and moved the post into here where more folks will see it.  I don't know if we have any photographers who do weddings in the Florida area.

Thanks Etta Sue for the devotional thoughts today.

Glad you got the day off, Larry.  May you be fully rested and rejuvenated!  I watched a little of your weather yesterday when I watched the Giants/Braves game on TV.  Your terrible, nasty Braves won it in the 12th inning!  Oh well.

Marilyn

Good Morning: Thank you Etta Sue for the devotional today. I have printed out your recipe for the Zucchini bread and place to make some  either tomorrow  or Saturday. I have to get the vanilla and coconut today.

I have a busy day today so this will be short. I am woking all three jobs today and will not get back home until around 5 pm.

Have a great day everyone.

Hello to everyone,

It's been a busy week.  We got back from New Brunswick on Sunday, and I learned something while we were away....Babies don't take vacations!  Mercy was awake quite a bit through the night while we were gone, and she was a wee bit carsick on the way home.  So I'm still tired out!  She hasn't been sleeping well at night, and we had just had a month where she slept through every night, so now I have to readjust to not enough sleep.  It's tiring, especially since I'm constantly sick.  Oh, I hear Mercy crying, I'd better go.  Hopefully I'll be able to pop on later.  God bless.

Jen.

Janet

WELCOME, SEKOU!!!  I know we do have some photographers who shoot weddings, but am not aware of any in Florida.  I hope you do find someone to help you out!

Oops, Nita!  You are right, that message was intended for Ruth Ann!  :-[  But you are certainly welcome to the hugs, and here are some more for you. ((((hugs))))  (First mistake I ever made!  :P  NOT.)

Etta Sue, good devotional again today.  You do a good job, and we appreciate you.

Larry, glad you get a day off.  I took a day off yesterday (or afternoon, anyway) and read a whole book.  And still made it to church last night. Sometimes I just HAVE to read a good book!

Pat, I have a new email address, will attempt to add it to my profile.  Maybe that will solve some of the problems I have been having.

My ladies are coming to paint, and I have some cleaning to do before they get here, so will close and get with it.

Good Afternoon all!

Well, we finished school for the day and I've been cleaning (vacuuming) the pool.  That is a very hot job.  Seems my hubby invited friends over saturday for swimming and supper.

Etta Sue:  I really enjoyed the devotional for today.  Thank you
Today people are often afraid that Christ wants to take things away, when in reality he wants to give them real freedom, peace, and joy.  Jesus wants to be King of your life.  Have you let him sit on the throne?

When I was trying to get my husband to go to church with me, all he could think of was everything he would have to give up, not knowing of the wonderful things Jesus gives us in return.  Now he knows better! :D

Larry : so glad you are having a "rest" day!

Our "homeschooling" has been going so well this year compared to the last few.  I'm learning as much as I'm teaching.  I try to pray every day for the kids to be like sponges and absorb all they are taught, but to be able to recall it when needed.  That seems to be what is happening.  PTL!

This site is such a blessing to me, you all are such wonderful people. I cant' seem to respond to everyone, but just know I read the posts and think and pray for you all!

Hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Sekou ~ I sure wish I were a professional photographer.  Miami in January sounds so much better than Indiana in January.   8)

Larry ~ How was your nap?  I tried to nap but was awaken by a storm and then went back to sleep and was awaken by another storm called Inky!  :D  When she thinks you should be up and about, you soon are up and about.   :o

Pat ~ I don't envy you at all in moving things up and down stairs.  Do be careful.  We need you on this site.   :-*

Al ~ I take it you are not a Braves fan.  Course, around here it is basketball.  You see bumper stickers like...'I'm an IU fan or for anyone who plays PU.  Indiana University and Purdue University.  You see them vice versa also.   :o

Marilyn ~ I had forgotten I put that Zucchini Bread recipe in here.   ???  I plan to make a couple of loaves tomorrow to take back to the woods for our FROGGS Get Together.  My maiden name is Stevenson and FROGGS means Friends and Relatives Of Grandma and Grandpa Stevenson.  Our 1st Annual get together will be this Saturday.  Let me know how you liked that recipe.

Jen ~ It used to upset me when my Mom would say....'A couple of years from now you won't remember how frazzled you are now'.  But sure enough...she was right.  A couple of years from now you won't remember these sleepless nights.  Not sure about your pregnancy sickness though.  Those memories tend to remain.   :)

Janet ~ I used to take a day and read a whole book but I haven't done that for years.  I go to sleep and the book is forgotten.   :-\  Hope you had a great day of painting with the ladies.

Samantha ~ I can't imagine home schooling my children but I know there are a lot of parents that do home schooling and are doing a great job.  ;D I commend you for it.

Tonight, Kitty, her sister-in-law and I are going to Anderson Library to listen to two authors talk about their photography book called 'Unexpected Indiana'.  This should be very interesting.

Nita

I hate to tell you this, but some of you are suffering from pixelation.  Maybe you don't even know it.  In fact, maybe I'm the only one who knows it cuz I have it too.  Etta Sue, I noticed you right after me. :|

Does anyone else see us pixelated?  Is it just my computer?  It just started today.  Maybe we should take a nap or something. haha
Don't tell me it's my computer. ok?  I can't afford another one.  I just checked my settings and they haven't changed.

I'm sitting here drinking lots of water.  I had one of those ugly UTI's last night again. Seems I have them a lot in the last few months.  I always drink lots of water, but always up it even more.  So far the water has done the trick.  Now, isn't that information you needed. lol

I don't really have anything to say, so guess I'd better stop typing.  God bless everyone.  nita

Samantha

Nita, I noticed that the picture of Etta Sue didn't look quite right a while ago, but I thought maybe it was just me.  So its not your computer. ???

Pat

HAHAHA!  Nita, you sound ill!  Suffering from pixelation?

Well, there were a couple of profile photos so huge that I changed the setting to be only 120 pixels wide but not the height.

So, maybe that's done it.

Most sites are smaller but I like to see the profile photos.  So I put 120

Ya'll are definitely pixel material right now!

Sekou -- I would love to shot your wedding for you, but unfortunately, I'm in Western NC and that is a good 14-16 hour drive for me.  Best to you in your search, though, and best wishes for your marriage.

I have decided to homeschool preschool Travis.  I've got Reading, Math, Science, and SS covered for preschool, but I was wondering if any of ya'll had any recommendations for a Bible memory verse program.  He has an incredible memory, and I would like to capitalize on that as early as possible.

Guess I should go fix sumtin for supper, so I'll check youns later!!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I have had a very nice day.  This morning I went to the cell phone store and got my wife a new "pay-as-you-go" cell phone.  It is a lot smaller than the one she has been using and we are switching companies.  It will be much lighter for her to carry.  I spent and hour or so putting in the address book for her after I had charged it up.  Also today I decided to switch back to use Thunderbird as my e-mail program.  I have been using Pegasus for sometime and while it is a good program it is a bit difficult to use.  I had used Thunderbird (a Mozilla program) before and really liked it.

Nita, I also noticed that the photos were pixeled.

Etta Sue, my nap was good but not too long today.

Samantha, glad to see your home schooling is going well this year.

Janet, I always read every night when I go to bed but often not for long.  I am currently reading a good book by Hannah Alexander, a husband and wife writing team) who write inspirational fiction.  They base their stories in the Ozarks of Missouri around Table Rock Lake.

Marilyn, I hope the bread turns out well.  I really like zuchini bread.

Al, your Giants get another chance at the Braves tonight.  This is the last game of the series and will start in about 5 minutes.  I may not watch all the game tonight as want to check out a new Irish musical called "On Eagles Wings".  This play was going to have it worlds premier here in our county but the company from Ireland ran into financial problems and took the show back to Ireland.  The music director from one of our local churches and a number of other people went to Ireland to sing in the 300 voice choir.  It should be worth watching.  Of course, I will keep an eye on the score of the game as well.

Pat, please be careful in carrying furniture.  The next time some of your family is there surely they will help you so that you don't have to do the lifting.

Sekou, first of all welcome to CP.  I think we were posting at the same time this morning and I just now saw your posting.  I hope you find an affordable photographer and congratulations on your pending wedding.

Karmat, I didn't realize that they were doing home schooling for preschool children.  Hope you find what you are seeking.

Marilyn

I have finally made it back home, in between Fay's and going back to Arcata to take versal to the doctor I installed a couple of new programs on my computer. Gilbert had already installed Adobe Illustrator, so I installed Adobe Pagemaker and was trying to install Fractual Design but Kept getting an error message just about when installation was finished so I gave up on that one. Gilbert came over to use my printer to print his catalogue. He left me his disk with the programs on it for me to play with. ow it is time to fix myself some supper and watch the news.

Papa John

Well, I have just read today's posts.  It is good to hear from everyone.

We have had another very hot day up to 97 degrees.  It is just too hot to be outside.  Fortunately we have a nice cool house.

Cornelia and I have already done our evening Bible reading.  We read through the 24th chapter of Jeremiah tonight.  This is the third year in a row for us to read the Bible through out loud, a method I recommend.  We have enjoyed it so much.

It is almost dark and we are going outside now and try to take a walk in the neighborhood.  She will walk and I will ride my scooter.

I hope you all have a good evening.

Papa John, when Abby is here, she loves for me to read the Bible aloud to her.  I use the Living Bible for that, as it is easier for her to understand.  She prefers the Bible to any of her bookcase full of books I have here for her.  :)

It has been thundering, and I am hoping for RAIN!!!!  We need it really badly.

Nita---do you ever drink cranberry juice for those UTIs?  I have found it does wonders when I get that pesky condition.  I usually drink Cranapple, because straight cranberry is a bit too "puckery!"  :o

Yes, Nita and Etta sue both look pretty pixellated!  Maybe I do, too, haven't checked.  I hate this photo, anyway, think it is time for a change.

Only six days until Beth leaves!  She had her friend Cory over today helping her clean house, and I was so glad.  I just cannot do the work required to keep two houses up, plus taking care of Beth.  Cory has been such a good friend to Beth, God bless her.

I don't have anything much to say, so won't say any more today!  Bye!

The cat's out!   The dog has been fed and watered.  I've turned the light off on the fish aquarium!  Time to go to bed for those of us in the Eastern Timezone.

I hope that many of you though from other parts of the world will continue to post and discuss in our new New Every Morning for August 12  HERE
