JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Oh, Ruth!   I remember how happy I felt when the last day of school arrived and I'd have the summer off!  Great feeling!

Jerry came over today.  We both looked inside the pc.  I printed the user manual and it looks as if the CD-RW is installed correctly.

Also when I looked on the web to see if there was a upgrade download, I did find an upgrade but it was a new CD software.  I have Nero 4.  The new one is Nero 6 and my email tells me it was shipped yesterday.  Maybe that will work.  If not, I know my pc guru will get a call!!!!

Also I mowed the grass this morning.  Then I fed my moles.  The sod farmer sprayed for moles....guess where they went!!!!!  MY YARD!!!  So I had some of those pellets that you feed them.  You make a hole in a 'run' and put a few pellets in the hole.  It is suppose to kill them but sometimes I think they thrive on those pellets.  Then I got my Weed and Feed out and sprayed the yard.  We decided to go to the woods and have smoked sausage cooked on an open fire.  They sure are good...much better than cooked in the kitchen.  We each ate two of them in hot dog buns.  Then when we got back to the house,  I cut Jerry's hair...he gets it buzzed...that's a no brainer hair cut.  I showered and then I cleaned the filters on my air filter and my A/C.

That's my day!!!  Whew!  I am tired!!!

Etta Sue

I got this in an email today.  It was new to me....so maybe it is new to you, too.  Oar should eye say it is gnu too me .... sew maybe it is gnu two ewe, to?

Four All Who Reed and Right
===========================

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes;
but the plural of ox became oxen not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
yet the plural of moose should never be meese.

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice;
yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?

If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet,
and I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?

If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be that, and three would be those,
yet hat in the plural would never be hose, and the plural of cat
is cats, not cose.

We speak of a brother and also of brethren,
but though we say mother, we never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him,
but imagine the feminine, she, shis and shim.

Let's face it,
English is a crazy language.

There is no egg in eggplant,
nor ham in hamburger;
neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England.

We take English for granted.
But if we explore its paradoxes,
we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square
and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea, nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers
don't groce and hammers don't ham?

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends,
but not one amend?

If you have a bunch of odds and ends
and get rid of all but one of them,
what do you call it?

If teachers taught,
why didn't preachers praught?

If a vegetarian eats vegetables,
what does a humanitarian eat?

Sometimes, I think all the folks who grew up speaking English
should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane.

In what other language do people recite at a play
and play at a recital?

Ship by truck and send cargo by ship?

Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same,
while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which
your house can burn up as it burns down; in which you fill in a
form by filling it out and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

It's been a long day, but I got lots done. I'm thankful for you, my friends, and for those who read but do not post here, for those who once were registered and participated and were such a blessing to me.

I'm also thankful for life itself - for the ability to think and to drive and to walk (a short distance) and for sight and for hearing and for music and for Jesus, who gave Himself for us, and for the wonderful plan of salvation, and for my family ...

I could go on and on, but you understand that as I sit here, another wave of gratitude washes over, and I come up spluttering and gasping.

Life is good, thanks to Him Who loves us so.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

Ruth Ann, how very, very true.

Thanks so much for sharing that with us...

Here's a favorite with many in here.  I just feel like singing tonight!  LOL

Fill Me Now
(Click to hear music)

Be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18

Words: Elwood H. Stokes, 1879.
Music: John R. Sweney, 1879

Hover o'er me, Holy Spirit,
Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.

Refrain

Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come, and fill me now.

Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O come and fill me now.

Refrain

I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with power and fill me now.

Refrain

Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou at sweetly filling now.

Refrain

Janet

We had a lovely evening with the kids and grandkids.  We went down early and spent some time with Curtis.  At dinner, Jeff read the verses in Ecclesiastes 3 which talk about a time for everything.  Then he talked to the boys about this being a season in their lives when they have acquired a lot of knowledge, and are on the brink of leaving home and striking out on their own.  He encouraged them to always take everything to the Lord, get His direction, and then move ahead.

We all assured Curtis of our love for him and that we will continue to pray God's protection over him, Mark and Abby.

When I look at those two big guys, it seems such a short time ago they were small, and fighting over my lap.  My, how fast the years fly past.

Mark showed us his Top Pilot Award, he is proud of that, and we are proud of him.  He showed me his log book telling how many take-offs and landings he did, how many hours flight time he logged, etc.  He really loves flying!

Alma, I hope you will soon be posting your photos.  I will post more soon.

Larry, thanks for your email and the suggestion.  I should check that out, as I'm sure you wouldn't steer me wrong!  And I do need a lot of help.  ;)

Marilyn, I cannot carry a purse, it really hurts my shoulder.  Not even a small one!  When I travel, I use a fanny pack, but have to use it in the back, not a "belly bag."  Otherwise it hurts my back.  I want to find a way to carry my camera on my waist as well; just works so much better for me.

I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow and get some prints made from my camera card, because my sister and niece want some.  I'm not good yet at printing my own.  But I will get there!  Darrel has a dr.'s appointment and an alarm trouble call in Liberal, so that gives me a chance to go to Wal-Mart without making an extra trip.

Larry, we are happy that gas here has gone down to $1.85, your price is much better!

Hi, Soni!  And hello to Troy, Zachery, Chandraya and Lila Mae---and to Daddy Mike, too!  :) :D 8)

I need to get myself to bed!  Goodnight!

Thank you Marilyn,
 I didn't expect that.  But since you took the effort to share with the folks I must set the record straight on Chris.
 Sorry, my choice of phrase seemed to have given the wrong impression.  I played on the word Burner, as in CD Burner,  mentioning that Chris got "burned" trying to install the Writer but that was not meant literally.  The only thing that got somewhat burned/flared, after working on the project for days with only a mess as a result, was a normally very patient temperament.
Chris is fine, patient as always and the computer is fine too.
And for those of you who may want to investigate that bit about the Mercy Ship, here is the

Thanks Marilyn, thanks, Pat, for the instructions on how to post the link and thanks to all for your concern and love.

God bless.
