Morning Devotional...

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

Earthquakes, floods, famines, wars and rumours of war are unfolding all around the world.

And so shall it be, as predicted in God's Word.

When men's hearts are failing them for fear, we can securely rest in our Savior's legacy of peace. The affectionate words spoken by the Good Shepherd so long ago, are yet today a comfort to His own.

Fear not little flock (Lk. 12:32).
—E. MacLelland

I will not fear
though calm give place to storm,
and peace to war,
for when my Savior putteth forth His sheep,
He goes before.

KARMA~Thanks for the heads up ... PAT that is such an awesome photo!  I really admire all the work y'all do with photography.  [/b]
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee and trying to catch up on the discussion boards.  The housekeeper is back today to do the regular cleaning.  When she was hear Monday she was doing some special spring cleaning.

Pat, that is an awesome photo and I can see why it was selected.

Alma, so sorry to hear of the sad situation with the children with CF and also of your own battles with depression.  Hope things are looking up for you.  Glad your mother was able to return home.  Does she live close to you?

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

I have a light schedule today.  I plan on going to the "Y" late this afternoon.  Since it usually leaves me exhausted I decided I didn't want the whole day spoiled so will go later.

Not much new here.  We don't have our regular choir practice tonight as this is spring break week for the schools and all the Wednesday evening activities were canclled for this week.  The traffic has been wonderful as so many people seem to be away.

Hi to Jane and Karmat and all who visit with us here today.

With Christ

"For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power" (Colossians 2:9-10).

The book of Colossians begins with a stirring exaltation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Creator (1:16) and sustainer of all things (v.17). He is the head of the church, and preeminent in all things (v.18). He is fully God (v.19) and yet redeemer (v.20). On the other hand, believers, before they were reconciled, are described as "alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works" (v.21).

It comes as somewhat of a surprise, then, in chapters two and three, to see that we are inexorably linked with Christ. Our lives and destinies are His-our identification with Him is total.
We are not just reconciled, we are with Him in all things.

Notice, first, that we are "buried with Him in baptism" (2:12). Furthermore, we are "quickened together [i.e., made alive] with Him," no longer "dead in [our] sins" (v.13), and "risen with Him" (v.12). Just as surely as God "raised Him from the dead," we are born again; given new life.

Obviously, since we are "risen with Christ, [we should] seek those things which are above" (3:1). Our priorities should be His godly priorities (v.2), for "Christ sitteth on the right hand of God" (v.1), and we are there.

Next, we are told that our "life is hid with Christ in God" (v.3). To be hidden in Christ is to be totally immersed, covered, our sins concealed, our identity masked within His; indeed, remade into His. God accepts Christ and us, as well, as we are hidden in Him. The next verse amplifies this identification with the term "Christ . . . our life" (v.4).

This identification will not be in vain, for when He "shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory" (v.4). As our text teaches, we are "complete in Him," for He is fully God, and we are with Him in all things. JDM

Good Morning Everyone...

I'm feeling great today!  Thank you Lord!  I had a wonderful sleep too.

Judy and Norm are taking me out to supper tonight and I'm really looking forward to that.

Thanks Karma!  :-[  What a surprise that was!

It's great to see all of you and today, I'm going to try to get caught up around here hopefully.  At least I'm going to try.

Off to get a cup of coffee.  I feel like singing.  What shall we sing?  I know.  I'm going to get one and put it in here that we all love so much.

As the Deer Panteth for the Water[/size]
(Click to hear music)

Written by Martin Nystrom

Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

Wonderful news, Pat!  So glad you're feeling good today!  I'm still waiting for that day for me!  But when it comes maybe I'll put a song in here too!

Etta Sue

I think there are 18 changes to the billboard above.

I posted yesterday....I know I did...but I didn't get a Notification and then when I looked, it wasn't there.  I know I posted!!!!

So sorry to hear of Gene Lee's passing.  I miss Jeanne's posts.  So colorful.  Come back, girl.  We miss you.

Congratuations, Pat, on the Picture of the Day.  Love that photo.

Well, I sat down this morning to read my Bible and thought.....Oh, no!  I forgot to post the NEM.  Then thought...I sure hope someone did it for me.  Then thought....No, today is Wednesday.  I post the NEM tonight!!!!  WEll, sure hope I don't forget tonight.  I have my devotion book in front of the pc....that is my reminder.

Also I am going to see Jerry and either stay late or go to my son's house and then to Small Groups Bible Study.  We are all suppose to go to the hospital to see Jerry.  I told the nurse that the other day and she thought that would be great.  I said that I knew we all couldn't be in the room at the same time but she said....why not?  There isn't someone else in the room with him.  As long as.... So we will probably all go in to see him.  When I told Jerry we were coming, he opened his eyes real wide and made the shape of an O with his mouth.  I think he is excited to see all of them.

Be back later to post the NEM for Thursday.

Congratulations Pat on Photo of the day. That Poppy bursting forth from the pod is beautiful. So glad you are feeling so good. Thank you for "As the Deer", you know that is my favorite song.

Well I am off to Tai Chi in just a little bit and am ready to go so I thought I should come back here and post before I go for the day.  Tonight is Bible study so I will try to get back in here before I go there to read all the posts and to play the games with Jane.

Hey speaking of the games, it would be nice to see some of you  come in to join us, Pat, Karma, K4J and Nita have been there. How about the rest of y-all?

Pat:  Congratulations on your beautiful picture.  I think it should be called Birth of a Bud.  So good to read that you had a normal night of sleep and you are feeling good.

Al:  We will all sing along with you when you have less pain as well.

Etta Sue:  I hope all goes well and your study group can visit Jerry!  You sound like me - I have to actually look at the computer to see what day of the week it is sometimes - scarey.  I have forgotten meetings, especially nighttime meetings & feel just awful when that happens, so, reminders all over the house & on fridge door.

I went to Coffee counter for the first time & will paste a joke here:

Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of old ladies running around with tattoos  That is so funny and so sad as well.  I always wonder what happens if they have surgery in those spots.

Some great news, along with a warning................

  Dear Janet,

I am heartened to tell you that the people of Kansas yesterday voted overwhelmingly to protect marriage in their state.  Winning 70 percent of the vote, Kansans made their voice -- the voice of democracy -- heard loud and clear.

But it is important to keep in mind that today's vote was just the beginning.  We are now at the outset of a great national struggle over the legal status of marriage and the family in America.

I'm often reminded of the quip made by Matt Foreman of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force to the national media after his utter failure before voters last November:  "Ultimately this issue, like so many others in history, will be resolved in the U.S. Supreme Court, where they will not give a d*** about what the state constitutions say."

Again congratulations to Pat:

I stopped at our Tim Horton's this morning to have coffee with my fellow School Bus friends and perhaps Pat you might remember but it was 35 years ago about now that I started driving School Bus so many years and memories as well.   :)  :)

Prayer: Just Wait on God

But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence
before Him.
--Habakkuk 2:20

I think we are the busiest bunch of eager beavers ever seen in the
religious world. The idea seems to be that if we are not running in
a circle, breathing down the back of our own neck, we are not
pleasing God!

When Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature" (Mark 16:15 KJV), Peter probably leaped to his
feet and, no doubt, scooped up his hat on the way out. He was
going to go right then!

But the Lord said, "Peter, come back, and 'stay in the city until
you have been clothed with power from on high' (Luke 24:49)."

I heard a Christian leader warn recently that we are suffering
from a rash of amateurism in Christian circles. Christianity has
leveled down and down and down. We are as light as butterflies--
though we flit, flit, flit around in the sunshine and imagine that
we are eagles flapping our broad wings.

Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call
a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God
to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did
before Pentecost.  The Counselor, 95.

"Lord, this morning I'll stop for a while at least to 'just wait
on God.' I know You're wanting to work, and I for one am willing
to wait this morning to hear Your voice and discover what You
want to do for me today. Amen."

Thanks folks...

Been a busy day.  The pastor of the little church I've been attending telephoned me and it's so sad to hear that his wife's breast cancer seems to have come back.  She was pretty well in remission for several years so it's sad news.

Now, I'm getting ready to go out for supper with Judy and Norm.  Looking forward to getting out.

Janet

I just read all of the posts.  I didn't have time to read them when I posted te report on how our election came out yesterday, as we were just ready to leave for Garden City.  Did anyone even READ my report??  :-\

Pat, I am so glad to know you feel good today, and you do sound like your old self.  Praise God!  Wasn't it fun to chat with our sweet Mieka this morning?  For those who don't know, Mieka was in Shanghai visiting the grave of Mr. Choy, the kind man who rescued and raised her.  She sounded good, and asked that we pass on her love and a big hi to everyone here.

Our Red Hatters had a fun day today.  We had lunch at a bed and breakfast housed in an (almost) 100 year old house.  It has been beautifully restored, is furnished completely in antique furniture.  I took photos, will share those later.  The lunch was lovely, too.

It is church night, so I will be leaving again soon.  Etta Sue, I do hope you find Jerry feeling better and better.  Bet he will enjoy seeing the people in your study group, too.

We are going to The Little Apple (Manhattan, KS) this weekend to see Curtis directing the ROTC as they march.  It's always so great to see him and collect some of his sweet hugs.  ;D  Abby has already informed me that I HAVE to sit with her in the car!  ;D  Do you reckon I can stand that? ;)

I am going to check out the photos.

Jeanne Lee, I am sorry about your lose. :(  ((hug))

Carol, Larry and Suzanne and whoever else commented on the dance winnings, thanks!  ;D

Larry, we are heading to another competition this weekend and each one is seperate.

Carol, nope we don't have much wind here like some other parts of the state.  We do have our moments though.  ::)

I have been sooooo busy with this dance thing.  This weekend should be fun..just lots of practice getting ready for another competition.  I just found out that Chandraya was 3 points from winning a diamond.  ;D Which is really good for her age group.

I was talking with some of the dance teachers and they said that there are kids in bigger cities that do nothing but dance and are tutured on the side.  So...8 hours of dancing and 4 hours of school. ??? Can you imagine that?  I think that is a little extreme especially for kids Chandraya's age.  Even if she did get a high score and went to nationals, she would never win.  Sad, but I plan on letter her keep her life. hehehe..if you know what I mean.

ok..off I go.

Love you all
Soni

Janet - I am indeed happy to hear that Kansas passed its marriage bill.  What exactly does it protect?

Ruth Ann Bice

I, too, have read all the posts today. And, I thought I had posted early this morning, but suppose something either happened to my brain or to the post!

At any rate, I attended a wonderful service at our church this evening. How blessed to feel able to go to an evening worship!

Y'all have a great evening with our Lord.

Congratulations Pat.... just beautiful., and that hymn you posted is my favourite.  I guess "chorus" is more like it...not hymn.  The words are so meaningful.

I phoned Jeanne Lee tonight to express my sympathy to her on the passing of her beloved husbamd, Gene.  Jeanne certainly loved her husband.  We had a lovely telephone visit.  I never did get to meet Gene in person, but I will someday!!

Al, the amendment simply stated that marriage is between a man and a woman, and no other arrangement is lawful nor will they have the protections and benefits of marriage.  It passed 70% in favor, and the fights are already beginning..........
