HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY EVERYONE!!!

What a wonderful anniversary day it was yesterday and I hope that we can continue today to celebrate the wonderful blessings we've had this past year.

We've shared many things together haven't we?  I was reminded yesterday that we all helped Marilyn stop smoking!  LOL  Well, the Lord was with her and He helped her through the rough times and now we have a smoke-free Marilyn!

Something to talk about...

I wondered if we could continue, today, to talk about what CP has meant to us during this past year.

It was so nice to see Soni speak about each of the following.  Thanks Soni!  It helps.

 • Has it been a blessing to you?
 • Have you learned new things regarding God's Word?
 • Have you enjoyed looking at each others photographs?
 • Do you enjoy singing the hymns?
 • What new things would you like to see added to our website?
 • Was there a humorous event that you remember happening this past year?

Morning Devotional...

As much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel.
Romans 1:15

Be ready always to give an answer to everyone that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
1 Pet.  3:15

In anticipation of the opportunities the Lord may give you today, are your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace (Eph. 6:15)?

There is good news to be told, news of what the Lord has done for you.

The Lord has paid the debt in full for all of man's sin.

Will you share this message with someone today?
--Jeff Brown

O ye saints, arouse, be earnest;
Up and work while yet 'tis day;
Ere the night of death o'ertake you
Strive for souls while still you may.

Well, here I am, finally!  It is 10:15 pm here so I am saying congratulations to CP on the actual anniversary!  Best wishes for another good year as well.

This is the first chance I have had to get here today.  We spent most of the day with Alice (hubby's sister) in the hospital, about 40 miles from here over in Texas.  She has been hospitalized there since April 1st with pneumonia.  We had been seeing improvement until a couple of days ago and now she is failing it looks like.  Bless her heart, she is one person I can truly say has lived her life in light of eternity.  She is ready and wants to go home, but the Lord has not chosen to take her as yet.  We think she may be leaning in that direction though.

I hope all of you enjoyed a grand day of celebrating!  I noticed there are 8 pages - but I just don't have the time to go read so much.  Wish I could.

Better say good night now, and good morning to those of you getting here in the morning.
Love, Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

QuoteWas there a humorous event that you remember happening this past year?

I can't remember any in particular, but I do remember laughing alot at most everyones jokes.

  Karmat and Nards always seem to make me chuckle.

Janet and her cute stories makes me laugh.

Papa John and his funny little old man graphic.

Etta Sue and some of her awesome quotes.

The cat stories were a riot.

I always have fun with Pat. She makes me laugh all the time.  I can be so silly while talking with her and she doesn't mind at all. At least I hope she doesn't mind.

Nita~You have been a great friend to me. You have taught me so much in just the short while we have known each other.  Thank you.

Janet has become my good friend that I hope to see soon someday.  And little Abby, she is so precious.  Seeing her first painting was awesome.

Larry and his fun times that he writes in the forums.

Al, and his wise and funny post were fun to read.

I love all the fun graphics that Jeanne Lee makes for all the Newbies.

I know I am forgetting a ton of people but please know that .  This site wouldn't be this site if it wasn't for you all.

I love this site.  I know I can be real busy when the warmer weather hits, but I hope you all know that I am still thinking of all of you daily.

Let's keep this site running.

Rats! I took to long to post.  I hope you all don't mind me answering the last question and posting it in here.

Fill Me Now
(Click to hear music)

Be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18

Words: Elwood H. Stokes, 1879.
Music: John R. Sweney, 1879

Hover o'er me, Holy Spirit,
Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.

Refrain

Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come, and fill me now.

Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O come and fill me now.

Refrain

I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with power and fill me now.

Refrain

Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou at sweetly filling now.

Well, I come here pretty often ... post every once in a while, but get ignored a lot, so I just read more than anything else.  What I have to say is never very earth shattering anyway, and I don't stand out in a crowd either, so .... onward and upward!  Things get crowded and I get busy and so do y'all ... God understands anyway.

Nita called me today, she is back home but I know she is resting so I haven't bothered her.  She has left a few messages on my answering machine because I have a couple friends (?) who think I'm helpless and need to be taken care of ... maybe they're right.   ::)
I got to attend a wonderful Easter cantata with some friends this evening.  Nita called while I was gone ... the message said "Why don't you answer your phone?"  I called when I got home and Angel (her granddaughter)answered, she said gramma was sleeping but that she had driven over to see if I was alright ... I feel bad about that, cuz I wasn't home.   :-\  Now, it will be tomorrow before she tries to call me again.  I hope I'm home and not spirited away by more well-meaning friends!

Gotta go ... Y'all take care now, y'hear?
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

Now, Jane!  We don't ignore ya!   :D ;D :-[ :-X :'(

Sawwwwy, if we do sometimes but we don't mean to.  :'(

Prayer: The Prayer of Faith

..The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
--James 5:16

A second important requirement if the believing church is to be used
in God's ministry is prayer and the response God makes to our prayers
uttered in true faith.... No matter what our stature or status, we
have the authority in the family of God to pray the prayer of faith.
The prayer of faith engages the heart of God, meeting God's
conditions of spiritual life and victory.

Our consideration of the power and efficacy of prayer enters into
the question of why we are part of a Christian congregation and what
that congregation is striving to be and do. We have to consider
whether we are just going around and around--like a religious merry-
go-round. Are we simply holding on to the painted mane of the
painted horse, repeating a trip of very insignificant circles to a
pleasing musical accompaniment?...

All of the advertising we can do will never equal the interest and
participation in the things of God resulting from the gracious
answers to the prayers of faith generated by the Holy Spirit.
Tragedy in the Church: The Missing Gifts, 7-8.

"Lord, don't ever let me be satisfied 'holding on to the painted
mane of the painted horse.' I want to be part of a dynamic Body of
believers, greatly used of You because we're seeing answers to
genuine 'prayers of faith generated by the Holy Spirit.' Amen."

Well... there was so excitement yesterday on CP.

Happy Anniversary... CP.

We had a great march of witness in our community yesterday with a lot of new faces visiting our Church afterwards.

Tomorrow we are going to witness the sunrise and have a time of prayer, followed up by a short service in the local park.

I spent the afternoon in Lincoln yesterday and took a few photos of the Cathedral and the Castle.  I have placed some photos in the Photo section... Let me know what you think.

Good Morning to one and all. I was reminded this morning by the
LOrd to reflect on the following for today.

Isaiah 53 NKJV

The Sin-Bearing Messiah
1 Who has believed our report?
        And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
  2      For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
        And as a root out of dry ground.
        He has no form or comeliness;
        And when we see Him,
        There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
  3      He is despised and rejected by men,
        A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
        And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
        He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

   4     Surely He has borne our griefs
        And carried our sorrows;
        Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
        Smitten by God, and afflicted.
    5    But He was wounded for our transgressions,
        He was bruised for our iniquities;
        The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
        And by His stripes we are healed.
    6     All we like sheep have gone astray;
        We have turned, every one, to his own way;
        And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

     7   He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
        Yet He opened not His mouth;
        He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
        And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
        So He opened not His mouth.
     8   He was taken from prison and from judgment,
        And who will declare His generation?
        For He was cut off from the land of the living;
        For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
    9    And they[1] made His grave with the wicked--
        But with the rich at His death,
        Because He had done no violence,
        Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

   10     Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him;
        He has put Him to grief.
        When You make His soul an offering for sin,
        He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
        And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
   11     He shall see the labor of His soul,[2] and be satisfied.
        By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
        For He shall bear their iniquities.
   12     Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
        And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
        Because He poured out His soul unto death,
        And He was numbered with the transgressors,
        And He bore the sin of many,
        And made intercession for the transgressors.

Hi everyone.  What a banner day we had here on CP yesterday.  It was especailly nice to see the postings from Mullet (whose postings I have certainly been missing), Jerry and several others who we haven't seen post very often for awhile.

My day has been blessed today by an e-mail I received this morning.  I am sharing this with you not because I want any praise but that you might share in the joy I feel.

We have a fairly young man, age 50, who has come to our Friday mens coffee at the Senior Center.  He has an inoperable non-malignant tumor around his brain stem and was forced to retire this last January and can no longer drive.  Over a period of time he will lose his motor skills and memory.

The last two Fridays I noticed he wasn't there and I inquired from his neighbor as to the reason and he said that he sort of thought the man believed he was too young for our group.  So I wrote to him and encouraged him to come and told him that I had started with the group when I wasn't much older than he is and had never once been made to feel unwelcome in anyway.

I told him I would be happy to pick him up and take him home and then I told him I could easily pick him up each weekday morning as I come back from the "Y" and he could have coffee with us at the Cafe on the days we don't go to the senior center and then I would drop him back by his house.

He responded this morning that he would love to get out each morning and would accept my offer.  Starting Monday I hope he will be able to join us each day.  I feel so blessed that he accepted my offer and I will be able to do something that will hopefully brighten his day as his wife works each day and he is alone.

  Have been listening to the hymns and so enjoying them.  Chris, the last hymn you posted is very familar to me and one that I really like and now I am listening to "My Tribute" which such a haunting melody.

I see I have been very wordy so will leave things at this for now.

Well, here I am folks!

Been busy running errands and now I'm getting ready to go up to Janice's and I won't be home till later this evening so the Moderators on CP are now in charge!  HAHAHA!

What a lovely day we had yesterday!  Last year on our second day, we had over 90 posts so see what you can do today!

Invite a friend to come to Christian Photographers!

Have you all been to the Creations with a Brush (a title we're going to chage now) to see our newer member, Hayley's fantastic sketches with graphite pencil?  They are truly awesome.

Let her know you like them.

And go and see Marilyn's quilt!  Wish I lived closer to Marilyn.  I'd bid on it!  LOL

Ruthie, your post are so inspiring to me.  You have answered questions I and others have asked wisely and it is easy for me to understand.  Thank you. We need more folks like you helping us new Christians out.  ;D

Jane, I always enjoy your night posts.  You are such a quiet person but your post are still read by me.  I sometimes reply and sometimes just ponder on what you said. Thanks for being here.

Ria(my favorite hollender), you have the most colorful posts. I really enjoy the poems you post.  Everyone one of them are awesome.  I also have enjoyed seeing your card pictures that you posted laster year.  I will someday do something like that.  (when the kids get older)  ;D

I have tried to listen to different radio stations and can't figure out how to.  It keeps telling me there is an error.

Oh well.  Thanks Pat.

Earlier when I posted Isaiah 53 I was still reflecting on the enorminity of what my Savior has done for me.  I can see the pictures going through  my mind of the movie, enhancing the graphic detail of how Jesus suffered for me.

I as sit down to write this I have tears in my eyes for His suffering and for the suffering that MY sins gave to Him, who loved me so much that He laid down his life for me willingly.

I meant to say something to Jane, I think of you everyday and remember to pray  for Bryan and allthe others who are serving in the military wherever they are.

I so enjoyed our time we spent together visiting, I am still praying for that time off. Now the lady I was concerned about and asked you to pray about, is moving on May 1st to a Senior apartment center. So I will be having to get her all packed up and ready to go. Perhaps I can do some on other days.

Larry thank you for sharing that with us today. How very kind of you. We must look after our brothers and sisters,  and show Jesus to everyone by our actions of kindness and love.

The little blind lady that I care for, (95 yrs old) has lived where she has for over 35 years and not one neighbor has visited her  in more that 15 years. She did for all of them when she was able. Some of the neighbors have been there longer than she has. I was thinking of her when I asked  all those questions about the widows the other day.

This is getting very long  soooo....I will be back later.

AMAZING GRACE
(Click title to hear music)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

It is good you all are doing for your neighbors. I have found that that reaps more blessings than troubles. Our neighbors are special to us here.  Sadly all three of us are getting into thoughts of moving but that can be a good thing too.   I have enjoyed all the scripture and hymns.  Speaking of hymns I wondered what hymns the disciples and Jesus might have sang at the last supper.  I have missed that sentence in all the years I have read. But it says they sang a hymn.   Had to be to the Father.  Amazing.   Hope you all have a wonderful Easter day. Alice

I have spent the day reading through CP old messages, read testimonies and have looked at many of the photos on this website.  Thanks everyone for sharing your special moments, your lives and your families.

Etta Sue

Nothing much to talk about today.  I have done some laundry and when I went to get the paper, they left a paper for Ivalou also.  So I took it to her.  We had coffee and she said she needed to go to the grocery.  So we went together.  Of course, we ate lunch out and then grocery shopping.

I saw my pc guru and told him about my microphone.  He said it sounded like I had it muted.  I checked when I got home and it wasn't muted.  Then I checked to make sure I had it plugged in the right spot.  I did.  Then I noticed that this mic had been fixed from Inky's chewing.  I took the tape off of it and checked out the connection and found that there is an insulated wire INSIDE the big insulated wire.  So I stripped both ends, twisted and taped the little wire and then twisted and taped the rest of the wire.  VOILA!!!!  I can record!!!!  It isn't as loud as I wish it was but I can record.  Now I can turn on Yahoo IM and 'talk' to Jerry's DIL in Italy!!!

Oops!  I said I didn't have much to say..... ::) ::) ::)

I am praying that every one has a Happy Easter tomorrow.

Etta Sue, our cat chewed up several things including putting teeth marks in the lower slats of our mini blinds at each of the windows.  You don't see it if you don't look but if we ever needed to sell the house we would have some repairing to do.

He particularly likes to chew on plastic but isn't as bad as he used to be.  One time I had a set of earphones that had little buds at the end that fit in my ear.  I went to use them one day and he had chewed one of them off.  Needless to say I wasn't happy.

I still try not to leave anything like that exposed.  When he wants my attention he starts to chew on the telephone cord on the fax machine behind my desk chair.  He knows I just hate that and will pay attention to him.

Marilyn, it is astonishing that no one has checked on your friend in 15 years.  Could it be that her memory has faded a bit?  If not, that is certainly sad.

I had requested the Book on CD for the new "Left Behind" series book called "Glorious Appearing" and have listened to the first disc.  I will listen more as I have the baseball game on TV this evening.  I have really enjoyed this series of books and hadn't realized there was going to be another in the series.

Papa John

Alice Wyatt, it is good to see you drop in.  I hope you have a nice day tomorrow.

I have stayed in mostly today.  Early our daughter, Beth and her husband, James, went on a long bicycle ride.  They got here yesterday and will be with us until next Friday, the day before we leave to go home.

It has been another beautiful day here.  Tomorrow we will go to church and afterwards Beth and James are going to Tampa for a ball game.  We are eating out, probably at the Chinese restaurant.

Marilyn, it is ashamed that people, even neighbors, will neglect elderly helpless people.  Fortunately she is getting some help in that you through the agency you work for are giving her some service she needs.

Mark 16:1-20

1   When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body.
2   Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
3   and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?"
4   But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
5   As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6   "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
7   But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'"
8   Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
9   When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
10   She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
11   When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12   Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
13   These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14   Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15   He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
16   Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17   And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18   they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
19   After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
20   Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Papa John, I got shivers all over as I was reading the portion of the Word you included here today.  Hallelujah!  What a Saviour!

Jane, I would not intentionally ignore anyone, but I know I have been guilty of doing that to many.  It is just that I don't always have something to say to each person, or else not enough time.  If I have hurt you, I sincerely apologize.  I hope you will keep us updated on your dear Bryan, as we pray for our troops.

Soni.......... :-* Thanks!  I love you, too!

Gareth, I am SO glad you included the following verse, beginning with BUT...........in your space.  Far too many people quote "eye hath not seen and ear hath not heard what God hath prepared for them who love Him."  and they stop there.........BUT (the next verse tells us) He hath revealed them to us by His Spirit!  That is exciting to me!

Marilyn, I know there must be so many lonely elderly people living alone with no loved ones close by to visit or to help them.  And what you do is a ministry of helps to them.  God bless you.

I went to the home where my Mom lives last night and attended the Easter Pageant.  It was quite good.  A friend was telling me to day about attending a "Living Last Supper" last night.  It sounded very interesting, and is something I hadn't heard of before today.

I have been away from home since 7:30 this morning at my painting meeting, and need to get some things done now.  I hope we make the 90 post Pat wants to see, but I know we all do have many things requiring our time.

I was happy to see Jerry posting yesterday, and also Trisha.  Neither of them pops in often.

Larry, what a treasure you are, and I know your friend is touched by your caring and help.  God bless you, dear brother.  And I know you will be rewarded, and also that being rewarded is the last thing on your mind when doing a good thing for your friend.

Hey, Zachery---is that YOUR website, or someone else's that you are enjoying?

I will talk to all of you later.

Easter Funnies
One Easter Sunday morning as the minister was preaching the children's sermon, he reached into his bag of props and pulled out an egg. He pointed at the egg and asked the children, "What's in Here?" "I know" a little boy exclaimed....."Pantyhose!"

THE TITHING
A little boy in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed around the offering plates.

When they came near his pew, the boy said loudly, "Don't pay for me Daddy. I'm under five!"

THE BLESSING
The Sunday School teacher asked, "Now, Johnny, tell me, did you say prayers before eating the Easter meal?"

"No sir," he replied, "We don't have to. My mom is a good cook!"

Happy Anniversary CP!

Pat, thank you for all the hard work you have put into the site.

I haven't been posting much this past while but I have been coming in daily and reading and taking a blessing from all that is here.

I have enjoyed the music that you posted yesterday Pat, and have the radio station on now.  It is so relaxing.  I have now bookmarked it.

I was out today from 9 am.  I spent a most relaxing afternoon sitting outside and doing some cross-stitching with a coffee while my partner chatted with some friends at a coffee shop.  3 hours later we returned home.

Have a blessed Easter Everyone!

Sue

Etta Sue, I can feel your joy at having your microphone working!  I well remember my frustration in January trying to get mine set up with my Webcam!

No, no, no ... You have NOT "hurt" me!  None of you have!  I completely understand about not being able to recognize each person who posts here.  In fact, that is what I was trying to say: I am always here, just not posting, because (1) I have nothing important to say and (2) I don't have time to try to respond to everyone even though I have lots to say to each one (I nod and smile and shed tears--whatever is appropriate--to every word, though).  :)  And, (3) by the time I get here and read what you've been talking about, it's way too late to make a comment anyway!   :-[

I will try to keep y'all updated on Bryan in the prayer requests.

Some friends came by this morning to take me along with them as they made the rounds of the Thrift Stores, Dollar Tree, and Grocery Outlet.  (The same ones who took me to the musical/drama presentation at their church last night.)  I really appreciate the opportunity to get out, and to get some shopping done since I can't drive myself just yet.  As Marilyn already said: it has been really warm here on the coast today -- HOT for Coos Bay, in fact! -- that's a good thing because I won't be needing anyone to bring wood in for my stove!   :D

Others are coming next week to help with stuff around the house.  They say I have to learn to accept help and stop being so independent!   :-\  I've heard "Don't rob us of a blessing" several times, so I guess I'd best settle down and learn to be waited on for a while.

Another board member is coming by in the morning to take me to church.  I have the bulletins ready but couldn't get them to the church today.  Rose always goes really early because she has to get the music ready, so that will be just fine for me.  :)  Everything is working out just right!

I took a shower and shampooed yesterday so I could see how long it takes ... I need to time things a bit slower and I want to be ready when Rose gets here.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jane I enjoy reading your posts as well

Ria: A lovely reading

Zac: Do not forget to return OK

Sue: Frustrated with your webcam, you were close to exploding

Pat: Keep up the good work.

Marilyn:  Praise the Lord the Tobacco is gone.

Hi, friends, I'm listing to the christian radio station, also. WONDERFUL! Right now a song I have played many times for offertory is being played - To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Has Done and arranged as a medley with Great Is His Faithfulness.

By the way, we've been discussing the song by Andre Crouch. I hope it will be sung at my funeral. No, not for me but for God to be glorified.

Y'all have a wonderful evening.

Hello to all of you!  I'm really tired!  We went to a "fly-in" at the Gatlinburg, TN airport today of World War IIish airplanes.  Karma has already slipped off to bed !!!! and Travis is snoozing soundly, too, so I guess I better join the fun.

Tremendous disappointment to find early this morning that the DSL connection that we had so longed for, finally been told we were eligible for, and tried to connect is just not going to work.  Something about being more than 18000 feet from some electronic device or other.  Oh, well.  It would be SO helpful to have a connection that is faster than dialup, but I guess that's what I get for living where I do.  Maybe someday, I don't know.  We were so excited :( :(

Then I wasted a roll of film at the airport because the film door on my poor old beat up Vivitar didn't properly latch, and that took a lot of wind out of my sails.  So, I've resolved to sell the lenses I have for it, pick up my poor little old 1.2 MP digital, and just ignore the fact that I can't do most of the things I really like to do with it.

Then I read through CP and realize I'm not near the contributor that most of you are.  Seems like I never have time to participate more than saying "hello", and I guess that looks kinda goofy compared to the encouragement and enlightenment that so many of you offer.

But, I REALLY appreciate you guys.  I don't know how to go through and list all of you by name and say what I like, but I consider all of you to be some of my best friends in the world, much like a really close Sunday School class.  I know we don't all agree, but I honestly feel like there is some of the same unity that brought the Apostles to the Upper Room.  Those guys didn't know all the doctrinal issues, that wasn't the most important thing.  What was?  POWER!  I could have every doctrine there is in absolute, penultimate agreement with the word of God and still be absolutely void of power.  What is power?  The Holy Spirit, living IN me and THROUGH me!  I'm not talking about how I express my love for Jesus, I'm talking about the POWER that comes through being TOTALLY subject to the will of God.

That's what I think CP is and can be.  We don't all see the issues the same way, but we want this site to be an outreach for God, however He sees fit to use it.  Whether it's to TEACH somebody something that they don't understand, or allow an inquisitive mind to question the "why" of Christianity, or just to have simply SILLY fellowship that makes us love each other, God is using this site.

While I know some prefer the NEM be a "serious" Bible study area, that's not my personal preference.  It MAY be God's direction, but I'm not going to impose anything one way or another.  There are days when the Holy Spirit KNOWS we need something silly, so He leads it that way.  Then, other days, we need to be serious for some reason, and He leads that way.  Amazing, huh!

Just my thoughts about what CP is.

Just another thought... I know Jesus rose from the grave, but I sometimes feel guilty of worshipping the empty tomb more than I worship the Risen Savior...  something to think about.
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

One of these days I'll learn not to ever skip a day coming here.   :-\    After a full week of work, which I'm really not used to any more, I was so tired last night that I just went to bed early without even turning on the computer.  So of course I missed out on our first anniversary.   :'(   But I read every post and enjoyed all the reminiscing!   ;D

Pat and I go back to the early days of SeniorNet - 1996?  Could it be 8 years?  Doesn't seem possible - maybe I've got that date wrong.  ::)  So when the original Christian Photographers opened up she invited me to join - which I did.  Then she let me know about this site and here I've been ever since.

Thursday Gene had his appointment with the cardiologist and is doing fine - back to 6 month visits instead of 3 months.  This coming Wednesday we're supposed to go to the VA clinic for his regular checkup.

We have tulip shoots up about 2 inches!

Pat will be happy that we all behaved in here today.  ;D

Not as many post as she would like though.  :(

We have been goofing around all day.  Kind of doing pretty much nothing to important.  We are getting ready to go to bed and wanted to say goodnight to everyone.

Nearer My God To Thee
(Click to hear music)
by Sarah F.Adams,1805-1848

1. Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E'en tho' it be a cross
That raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer to Thee!

2. If, like the wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!

3. There let the way appear,
Steps unto heav'n;
All that Thou sendest me,
In mercy giv'n;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer to Thee!

4. Then with my waking tho'ts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer, my God, to Thee!
Nearer to Thee!

5. Or if, on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
