John 14:15-17.  "If you love Me, keep My commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - the Spirit of truth Whom the world cannot receive, becsause it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

Paul talks about the same thing.  He said, "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free - and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." (1 Cor. 12:13)   As per Jesus' promise, the Holy Spirit has indeed come, and He now dwells in a very special way within every believer without exception.  We live spiritually ("drink into one Spirit") by His work within.  There are not some Christians without His indwelling and some with - "all have been made to drink into one Spirit."  This wonderful promise of our Lord is for every member of His Church - every Christian until He comes again.

It's not for us to understand his indwelling - it's for us to believe and drink.  It's for us to give thanks and seek more of His blessed work within.

The Comforter Has Come

"I will ask the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter." John 14:16

Words: Frank Bottome, 1890, in Precious Times of Refreshing and Revival.
Music: William J. Kirkpatrick (1838-1921)

O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;
Let ev'ry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav'n, the Father's promise giv'n;
O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found—
The Comforter has come!

The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last,
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o'er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To ev'ry captive soul a full deliverance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

O boundless love divine! How shall this tongue of mine
To wond'ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
The Comforter has come!

Refrain

I see Al is posting a New Every Morning so thought I would post this in here.  Pretty long drawn out story..don't read if you don't like dance stuff.

Chandraya and I took off Friday to compete in a dance competition over the weekend.  We had a bit of trouble with the truck as we drove to our destination...the stearing belt broke and I couldn't turn the wheel so I had to pull the truck over.  Thank God I seen my friends right before I left or I would have been stuck out in the middle of nowhere with her.  My dance teacher gave me a ride in her vehicle while my other friend packed my suitcases in her truck.  Friends are awesome! ( Mike fixed it for only $42.00 :D )

Anyway, we get there and Chandraya danced first thing Saturday morning.  She got on stage and did the best she could do.  Every move was perfect and right on the beat.  She smiled ;D the whole time too(this is hard for young ones).  She lost her balance on one part but caught herself and kept going as nothing happened. She walked off stage and competed in her other 4 group dances.

Come awards time for the solo dancers...she sat on stage with the crowd of kids excited and ready to hear what they recieved for an award.  They called out "Naked Mole Rap, Diamond"  She jumped up and was so jazzed that she had won a (1st high score)diamond.  She practice so hard and it paid off.  But it didn't end there....as they were giving out special awards (showmanship, technical skill and Best choreographed dance)..they called out "Naked Molel Rap  recieves the Technical award".  She jumped up and was excited even though she had no idea  ::) what she won. hehehe...   At the end they give out 4 awards for the best dance performed.  They called one of her friends Anthony for 4th place and some other dance from another company for 3rd and 2nd...(Chandraya's dance teacher was sitting next to and looked at me and crossed her fingers.)

The speaker called out "and 1st and over all for the petite solo division(ages 4-8)...." the crowd got silent and they played the song "Naked Mole Rap"  She stood up and started jumping around and ran to the front of the stage and grabbed her BIG trophy(almost as big as her!) :o  I was in tears :'( watching her reaction and knowing that she deserved it.  She worked so hard these past couple months.  Sometimes getting frustrated but never giving up.

She and the other Twinklers took (1st high score)Diamond in her Jazz group "Funky Town",  (1st)Ruby in their Ballet and (2nd)Emerald for their tap.  She also did a special class with some older dancers and took diamond for that.

Mike and I took diamond again for our group tap number and I took diamond for my jazz number.  ;D 8) It was a good weekend.

Practice makes perfect!  Chandraya proved that!  Way to go, MOO!!! Mommy loves you!

The Fight of Faith

"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses" (I Timothy 6:12).

Faith, which is genuine saving faith in Christ, is not characterized simply by a single act of belief, but by a life lived in faith. Scripture uses many vivid figures to describe it.

First of all, it is the door by which men and women enter the family of the redeemed. When Paul first preached the gospel to the Gentiles, he reported how God "had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles" (Acts 14:27). Then, it becomes a "household of faith" (Galatians 6:10) to all who have entered the door. Thus we live day by day in a house called faith! "The just shall live by faith" (Galatians 3:11).

Faith is also work. "Remembering without ceasing your work of faith" (I Thessalonians 1:3) is vital, because "faith without works is dead" (James 2:20). "By grace are ye saved through faith. . . . Not of works." Nevertheless, we are "created in Christ Jesus unto good works" (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Furthermore, there is a fight of faith! "Fight the good fight of faith," commands our text for today. The Christian is constantly under attack by the devil, and it is only through faith that we can stand. In the wonderful words of Ephesians 6:16, our faith becomes an invincible shield, "able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" one. But we must take it and actively use it. When we do that, "this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (I John 5:4).

Let us therefore, like Abraham, be "strong in faith, giving glory to God" (Romans 4:20). Our faith is well placed, for it centers on Christ, the mighty Creator, living Savior, and coming King. There is a door of faith, then a household of faith, followed by the work of faith, and the fight of faith with the shield of faith, and all of this is in the wonderful "word of faith, which we preach" (Romans 10:8). Good Morning or Good Evening wherever you may live.

Karmat:  Thanks for the Wake-Up call!  I am now sipping coffee and that helps even though it is de-caf.  Such a habit!  Are you getting enough sleep?

Kathy:  Ouch - a broken ankle.  That sounds hurtful.  I sprained my ankle in Sept. and it took a full month to really be back to somewhat normal.  Take care.

Larry:  Did I ever tell you that a good friend had a heart transplant about five years ago?  She would tell anyone to "go for it" if at all possible.  Much she has endured but surgery is even now different and better than it was five or so years ago.

Soni:  As John Denver would say to you and Chandraya "Far Out"!  Great going & yes, so nice you weren't stranded for hours.

Al:  Thank you for the very good message

QuoteJohn 14:15-17.  "If you love Me, keep My commandments.

One son called & he is shoveling very deep and heavy snow at work - I told him to watch his back as it is over two feet deep in his area.  Schools are closed and I wonder when the airport will open.  They say that thousands spent last night and most of yesterday stranded just at the airport.

P.S.  Marilyn:  I will pray for your pain to go away.

I am back home!  Did you miss me?  ;)  Oh, well, I missed you, anyway.

We had a very nice weekend with our kids and grandkids.  We left Hugoton about 6 on Friday, drove to Manhattan, took Mark to Curtis' apartment,  and then the rest of us had a room at a motel.

They were having their Open House at the university, with so many activities going on all at once.  We walked through and did some of them, then over to the field where the ROTC parade was to be.  Curtis is Flight Commander of Bravo Flight, so was out front directing them.  It was windy, but otherwise a beautiful day.  We did a LOT of walking!  After lunch, we drove to Salina for their open house.  The Salina Campus is also K State, and has all their aviation programs, which Mark is planning to take.  Then back to Manhattan and we ate at the Gold Fork for Mark's 19th birthday, then went to the movie SAHARA.  It was a good movie, and solid action.

On Sunday we attended church, ate lunch, did a little shopping and headed for home, with stops in Salina again to go to Sams Club and in Dodge City to visit Jeffs grandmother who has cancer and is not doing well.  We got home about 10 last night, and now you have the full report, probably WAY more than you ever wanted to know!

CHANDRAYA!! Good for you, little one!  You did great!  Doesn't it feel good to know that your hard work will pay off?  I'm so proud of you!  And also of Soni, and Mike and Soni!  Your family are all so athletic.  How is Troy doing in swimming now?  Thanks for sharing your weekend.

It is raining here today.  Should be so good for the wheat and also the pastureland and the other crops.  We never complain about rain!

KATHY, I am SO sorry to hear about your broken leg!  Ouchie!  You are a ray of sunshine here, and I really miss you when you are away.  (((((hugs)))))

This is getting WAY too long, sorry!

Hi everyone.  It is almost noon time but wanted to post this morning.  I did remember today to click on the Google ads at the top of the page as know this helps Pat pay for this site.  We have an appointment at 3 pm today with the vet to take our cat, Mr. Tiggers, for his shots and checkup.  Wow, it is getting expensive to have pets.

Sonja, was so happy for you, Mike  and your daughter on the great weekend.  It sounds like it will be a very memorable one.  Did you get any photos or were you too busy with the contests?  It sounds like Mike had better get busy and build a trophy case.

Kathy, so sorry to read that you had broken your ankle.  My wife did that several years ago so have an idea of what you have been going through.  Hope it isn't too painful.

Janet, sounds like you had a marvelous and very busy weekend.  Know your grandson appreciated your being there for him.

Marilyn, sorry to hear that you are in pain again today.  Hope it doesn't last very long.

Carol, I have been reading about the snowstorm that has hit your part of the country.  It is spring here in the South.

Karmat, I liked your photo as it was very creative.  Congratulations on your placement.

Al, thanks for the devotional today.

Yep, I missed you, Janet.  I didn't know you were going away!  LOL  Love your new photo.  Do you?

Pat, you would have known I was going away if you had read my post on Friday!  Beth swears I didn't tell her, either, but I am sure I did. :-\  And thanks for putting in a new photo of me.  I never really like any photos of me, but........I guess if my face pleased God to make it, I have no right to complain.  So it's okay.

Nita, thanks for the information!  I didn't get an email but did get your IM here.  I must click and see if my email on here is right or not, I thought it was.

I'd better get busy around here.  Oh!  Now the bar doesn't pop up here, but in Photos it does! Very strange.........

Friday was a not so nice day for me, Janet and so I didn't read anything till about midnight or after.  Andrew came and drove me to his home for supper and I didn't get home till then.  So that's when I figured out you were away.

I'm so glad that you liked your photo.  It's certainly a lovely one.  I did two and I'll let you see the other one and you can decide which you like best.

Good Afternoon:  Wonderful devotionals

This morning I went to an eye specialist as I have been having a problem, my eye it can feel dry and also by times I think there might be something in it as well, but the good news so far is that there is nothing there the retina is fine, a swab was taken so possibly I have some kind of infection, to that I will know the answer in two weeks but in the mean time until my eyes return to normal vision is very touchy. Even the computer screen looks to be dancing.

Thoughts...For those against Jews......
Don't ever visit the Statue of Liberty...the words on the base, "Give me your tired, your poor..." was written by a Jew named Emma Lazarus.
Whatever you do, don't ever allow anyone in your family to take the polio vaccine...it was developed by a Jew named Jonas Salk.
Don't watch baseball; one of baseball's greatest pitchers, Sandy Koufax was a Jew. Sorry, you can count basketball out, too. One of the greatest coaches of all time, Arnold "Red" Auerbach, was the head coach of the legendary Boston Celtics where he won a record consecutive World Championships.
By the way, one of the greatest sportscasters of all time, Howard Cosell, was a Jew too.
I hope you don't like magicians. The greatest one of all time, Harry Houdini, was a Jew.
Don't ever watch TV. The entertainment pioneer who helped make TV the institution it is today was Milton "Mr. Television" Berle, who was a Jew.
Don't ever insist that your daughters receive the same pay as men do. The women's rights movement was led by a Jew named Gloria Steinem.
Don't ever watch a Miss America Pageant; Bess Myerson, a Jew, won that coveted title in 1945.
Don't ever look at fine art; you might accidentally see the work of the (Jewish), world-famous artist, Marc Chagall. Check the windows in the UN building.
Don't read a textbook about physics...the 20th century figure which most shaped our understanding of the universe was a Jew named Albert Einstein. Don't ever belong to any union associated with the AFL-CIO...the person who CO-founded and was the first President of the American Federation of Labor as a Jew named Samuel Gompers.
Don't ever seek professional assistance from a psychologist or psychiatrist..the man who founded that branch of knowledge was a Jew named Sigmund Freud.
Don't ever see movies like ET, the Indiana Jones series, or JursassicPark. The man who directed those movies was a Jew named Steven Spielberg.
Don't ever insist that you a have a right to privacy from government intrusion...the man who first advanced that theory at the Supreme Court was a Jew named Louis Brandeis.
Don't even attend any musical written by Rogers and Hammerstein. Hammerstein was a Jew. In fact, better not go to Broadway at all: You might accidentally see a play by Neil Simon, Arthur Miller, or David Mamet.. all Jews.
Maybe you should leave the USA altogether because a very good friend of George Washington was a man by the name of Chaim Solomon, of Rhode Island. Mr. Solomon in no small way helped to finance the American Revolution...and you guessed it; Chaim Solomon was Jewish!
Don't ever read the psalms from the Bible...many were written by a Jewish King named David.
Don't sing "God Bless America"...it was written by a man named Irving Berlin. By the way, George Gershwin, Isaac Stern, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Rubenstein, Yitzchak Pearlman, Yasha Heifetz, Sir
George Solti, Fritz Reiner, Yehudi Menuin, Andre Previn, Benny Goodman, Herb Alpert, Stan Getz, Daniel Barenboim, Bert Bachrach, Barbara Striesand, The Marx Brothers, and the Three Stooges were all Jews, too.
You should be aware that Louis Armstrong and Sammy Davis, Jr. were not born Jews... but the they did decide to convert to Judaism.
Don't watch or play tennis. Pete Sampras, the World's greatest tennis player, is a Greek Jew. Boris Becker, 3-time Wimbledon champ (1985-86,89) is a Jew, too.
I hope you hate to laugh: Adam Sandler, Billy Crystal, Jerry Seinfeld, Jerry Lewis, Rodney Dangerfield, Jackie Mason, Carl Reiner, Jerry Stiller, George Burns, Freddie Prinze, Alan King, Jon Lovitz, Howie Mandel, Richard Lewis, Jack Benny, and Don Rickles are all Jewish.
These are just a handful...there are many more lesser known Jews who have contributed to the benefit of mankind. BUT Lastly; if you still hate Jews, please consider this:
You probably should not ever be a part of any Christian church... Rumor has it that Jesus Christ was a Jewish Rabbi. In fact, "The Last Supper" was very likely a celebration of the Jewish Passover Seder ritual meal.
Can you imagine how far advanced the world might have been if the Nazi's hadn't murdered 6 million in WW2?
From American Congress for Truth

Time to smile.....................

Running late for a job interview at a large men's fashion company, I grabbed a white dress shirt that I didn't have time to iron. The interview went well -- until the end. "Just a word of advice," said my interviewer. "You might want to iron your shirt before your next job interview." I held up the back of my shirt collar, revealing the tag. On it was the name of that very clothing company and the words "wrinkle-free." I got the job.

Hi Everyone...

It's been a lovely day here in Guelph.  I even went out and picked up some twigs and old junk left there by the winter storms.  It looks a bit better out the back but I only did a wee bit of a huge job.

Hope you are all keeping well tonight.

I feel like singing so maybe I'll look for one that we can all sing together. ;)

I'D RATHER HAVE JESUS
(Click to hear music)

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land;
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand:

refrain:
Than to be the king of a vast domain or be held in sin's dread sway!
I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than world-wide fame;
I'd rather be true to His holy name:

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs -
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead:

Hello everyone.

Not much to say, but I've finally caught up on everyone's coming and goings again, and done a fair bit of "google ad clicking" at the same time.  Time to call it a night.

Beautiful flowers! :)  Not only that, but I think I'd like to learn how to celebrate passover now!

Hope everyone has a great evening...

Thanks for the devotionals and the interesting post about famous Jewish people and all they have accomplished.  How quickly people turn from fact to fiction.....

Amanda has new baby bunnies and only two out of four survived.  The one is very tiny and trying hard to hold on to life.  Amanda brings the mother inside, turns it on its back (flips) and it lies there while Wendy holds the babies so they can nurse.  This way it is possible to make sure they are getting enough milk as they are very fragile.  Not something that is normally done....I hope they live.  We are having a cold spell this week and the babies are inside in their nest.  Ah me :-\  Actually, it is interesting to see something so tiny, yet filled with life.  Isn't God amazing!!!

Congratulations to all the winners.  Hard work is certainly producing positive results.  Combine that with faith in Jesus and success is bound to follow.
