Morning Devotional...

Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

"Whatever we do, even if we are reading the Word or praying, we should stop for a few minutes--as often as possible--to praise God from the depths of our hearts, to enjoy Him there in secret.

Since you believe that God is always with you, no matter what you may be doing, why shouldn't you stop for a while to adore Him, to praise Him, to petition Him, to offer Him your heart, and to thank Him?"

So wrote Brother Lawrence. To which we can say, "Amen!"

Today let us stop often to commune with the living God, our Redeemer.
--Donald L. Norbie

Praise Him for His noble deeds;
praise Him for His matchless power:
Him from whom all good proceeds,
let all heaven and earth adore.
C. W.

Glory to His Name
(Click to hear music)

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His Name.
Psalm 29:2

Words: Elisha A. Hoffman, in Joy to the World, by Tullius O'Kane, C. C. McCabe, and John Sweney (Cincinnati, Ohio: Hitchcock & Walden, 1878).

Music: John H. Stockton

Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain
Glory to His Name, glory to His Name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His Name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior's feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His Name!

Rachelle

Hi Pat and Sonja-and Everyone else-I bet you have been wondering where I have been lol-I went to Kansas!I have a dear friend that has been going through alot health wise, She is very young 27 with 5 young boys-Her Health isn't good-she was just diagnosed with full blown MS..and that she will be in a wheel chair in a year-however we know the healing power of our Lord and we are standing on healing for her. Anyway-I had talked to my husband about going but he said no-so I left it at that-then a few days later he woke me up and said he felt the Lord speak to him through the night telling us to go-we received our income tax check and 5 days later left for Kansas-it took us 23 hours to get there. It was wonderful getting to meet my friend that I have known for 4 years..I got lots of wonderful pictures with my new camera-I am amazed of the zoom it has..its wonderful-I even took photo's today coming home on the road and they turned out great-I zoomed in on mountains that had snow..and was able to get a close up.Please pray for my friend and a healing touch of the Lord. Whitney our 7 year old daughter ended up getting a bad cold-please pray for her.Her ears were really hurting her coming through the mountains. Ive missed all of you and pray that everyone is well-I haven't had a chance to catch up on any post as I just got home around an hour ago.
Hugs

Ohhhhh, Rachelle!  You've been missed!   But we're so happy to see you back home.  What part of Kansas were you in?  I'm so looking forward to seeing your photos and also please know that I'll be praying for your friend.

I'll chat more later with you but right now, I just couldn't sleep so thought I'd come and spend some time in the Prayer and Praise area and then found your email and your post!

I have a few minutes before I have to run to town to pick up Jeff's and Mark's suits from the cleaners.  They do not have a dry cleaner in Hugoton, so I brought their suits home with me last Sunday.  Soon after I get home, Darrel, Beth and I will leave for Dodge City.

Ria, that is so sad about your neighbor taking his own life.  How hopeless and despairing is the life of one who doesn't know the Lord!  There are so many things we try to do in our own strength, but we can only be successful when we walk in His strength.  I pray his wife will turn to the Lord during this terrible time for her.

Also, Ria, I love the little poems and quotations you include each day--they are little nuggets of pure gold.  Thank you!  I'm so glad your eyes are doing better, and now you can again work on the lovely cards you enjoy making.  I just saw on TV some lovely cards made using those throw-away CDs that we get in the mail.  Maybe I will try that.

Soni, I like spinach, too.  Are you eating fresh or cooked?  My husband will eat it raw, but he won't touch cooked spinach.  In fact, when we married, he told me that if I ever want him to leave, I don't have to say a word.  Just serve him cooked spinach and liver at the same meal, and he will get the message!   ;D ;D ;D  (I do NOT like liver, either!)

Ruthie, the antique frame and print are looking good.  I cleaned the frame (it had many years of dirt on it and in all the crevices) then I re-glued the corners, using my frame vice.  Then I stained the places where the "gingerbread" had fallen off, using a strange color called asphaltum.  It is looking good.  The print was also very dirty.  It has obviously been laying around exposed to the dust and stuff for a long time.  That is one delicate operation, to clean an old, crumbly, fragile paper print!  It does have some missing places, but the colors look much brighter now.  After the frame dries thoroughly, I will re-assemble it.  The calendar the print is from is a 1924!  (OLder than me! ;D)  I found the name of the artist, the name of the print, the date and the publisher, which delighted my customer.  She remembers it hanging in her mom's and before that, her grandma's house, and it means a lot to her.  (Sorry I got so long winded.  As Etta Sue says, TMI) :-X

Rachelle, I am so glad you got to go be a support for your friend during her time of need.  That was so sweet and sensitive of your husband to take you.  I'm sure it is something she will never forget.  She is in the KC area, right?  I seem to remember your telling me you had a friend there.  Good to have you back with us!

Hi, Pat!  We are about due for another nice chat!  Love you!

Gotta run...........later!

Good morning everyone.. I hope your day is filled with joy!

this is the first time I've read "new every morning" and I'm glad I did :D
When I think upon my God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes dance and leap from my pen- Franz Josef Haydn.

Good morning, Hayley!  Glad you stopped in.  We do alot of goofing around in the area, but we also have some pretty good discussions.  Hope you stop by a few times out of the day to see what we are up to.  Somedays it can be pretty quiet and other days we are just as gabby as can be.  ;D

Rachelle, that is so sad about your friend. I will keep your family and her family in my prayers.

Thank you, Pat!  Did you notice in that graphic the different dof in each shot?

I like cooked spinach or cold spinach.  I like spinach with vinigar and salt or just plain. I love spinach salad or just eat the spinach right out of the garden. mmmmm....tastey!

Mike's dad is coming up for a visit tonight or tomorrow morning. He is such a neat man.  I enjoy his little stories.  He reminds me of Al in a way. hehehe...

I better get off here and get my day started.

Well, I had "one of those nights"!  I was up and down so often.  You can see that I was even posting photos for our newest member, Noel, in the middle of the night!  ::)  They truly are beautiful!  I hope you all go and have a look at our WATER Challenge and enjoy Noel's photography!

Ria, what terrible news for this poor lady in Holland to find her husband had taken his own life.  I'll be praying for this lady.  Such depths a person has to sink to to have to do this horrible act.  I'll be praying for his wife.

Janet, we'll miss you today.  Enjoy yourself though.

Great to see you here, Hayley!  We try to tell people to come to New Every Morning and get to know the crew here but many have never been here.  It's a good place to hang out!

Well, I am going out to start raking the lawn.  After the winter, it's such a huge mess.

Talk to you all later.  Don't forget to see Noel's photos of the Phillipines where he lives in the Water Challenge.

Jesus Paid It All
(Click to hear music)

Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.
Song of Solomon 1:3

Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18

Words: Elvina M. Hall, 1865
Music: John T. Grape

I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb.

Refrain

And now complete in Him
My robe His righteousness,
Close sheltered 'neath His side,
I am divinely blest.

Refrain

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone.

Refrain

When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
"Jesus died to my soul to save,"
Shall rend the vaulted skies.

Refrain

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down
All down at Jesus' feet.

I had a bit of an upset stomach this morning after I ate my breakfast. Don't know why, I am ok now thank the Lord.

I have enjoyed looking at Noels photos and the one etta Sue posted too.

Pat did you see the graphics I posted last night before you closed the door? I can't wait to learn more about PSP and what can be made with it.

Tomorrow I will have more time to play with it. I wouldlike to learn how to do layers and make those postcard with more than one photo one there. Like the graphic Soni made of the Hyacinths.  Soni How did you do that?

Ready for work now, The President and The Prime Minister are having a news conference right now on the TV. Going tolisten to them.

Yes, Marilyn, I did see.  Sorry for not commenting.  You're doing well.  The best thing for you to do is register in one of the free PSP classes and get to know all of the features of the program and then you'll be able to branch out and do some of your own graphics with photos, etc.

I've been listening to the IRAQ news and my heart aches for the families whose loved ones won't be coming home at this time.  Let's continue to pray for the troops.

Also, let's all remember that "Our God Reigns" and He's in complete control!

Our God Reigns
(Click to hear music)

How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Isaiah 52:7

Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
Luke 24:39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have."
Luke 24:5-6

Words and Music: Leonard E. Smith, Jr.

How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him,
Who brings good news, good news;
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness.
Our God Reigns!  Our God Reigns!

Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!

He had no stately form, He had no majesty
That we should be drawn to Him.
He was despised and we took no account of Him.
Yet now He reigns, with the Most High.

Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!

It was our sin and guilt that bruised and wounded Him.
It was our sin that brought Him down.
When we like sheep had gone astray our Shepherd came,
And on His shoulders He bore our shame.

Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!

Meek as a lamb, that's led out to the slaughterhouse,
Dumb as a sheep, before it's shearer;
His life ran down upon the ground like pouring rain,
That we might be born-again!

Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!

Out from the tomb He came with grace and majesty;
He is alive, He is alive!
God loves us so, see here His hands, His feet, His side;
And yes, we know, He is alive!

Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!
Our God reigns!   Our God reigns!

Hi all, spent yesterday and today in London.  I had several interviews, but took the opportunity to snap away.  I thought you might like to see one of the perks of being a Queen, this is her humble home.  ;D

(you should all be able to see this)

If you would like to see some more of London, tell me and I will place them in the photography section.

Marilyn

Yes Gareth I would love to see more of London. Take me on a tour please.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I have been on the go all day long and am really tired tonight.

On Fridays I try to get to the "Y" by 6:30 am as our Friday men's group meets at 7:30.  Following that meeting I went to see my cardiologist for a routine appointment.  His office is an hour away.

He changed some of my medicines and dosages so had to go to the Kaiser Permanente pharmacy at the mall.  Dropped off the prescriptions and went to get a bite to eat then back to the pharmacy to pick up the medicine.

Then I went to the Senior Center as this was our PC User's Group meeting.  The speaker was the manager of one of the camera stores in our area and a professional photographer.  He talked about digital photography, different cameras and related matters.  His program was very well received.

Then had to stop at the grocery for a few items (Sonja, you are right we got more than 2 items at Wal-Mart yesterday  :-[ ).  By the time I got home I was about ready to drop and won't be doing much more this evening.

Ria, sure sorry to hear of the sad death of your neighbor.  He was obviously determined to commit suicide if he had previously tried to do it.  So sad for his family.

Rachelle, how kind of you to go and help your friend.  Glad to see you back and hope your daughter's cold is a lot better today.

Janet, I agree with Darrell regarding cooked spinich and liver.  I liked raw spinich in salads but not cooked.

Marilyn, your PSP 8 graphics are very nice.  I need to sign up for the lessons but just don't know when I would get around to working the lessons.

NOELV, welcome to CP.

Pat, hope you sleep better tonight.  I am very fortunate in that I very seldom have any problem sleeping.

Hawley, nice to see you posting and I hope you will join us here each day or as often as you can.  We have a very nice group of folks posting here.

Etta Sue, you gave me another chuckle today when you talked about your "deceased canine nephew".   :D :D  I haven't looked at the pictures from the backyard yet but will a little later this evening.

Gareth, beautiful picture but pretty sure I couldn't keep up a place like that on my humble retirement income. :o

Carol

Ria:  My sympathy on the loss of your neighbor.  A very sad story.

Rachelle:  My prayers for your friend - you are a good friend indeed to visit her at this stressful time.  Perhaps new medicines can help with her condition.

Pat:  thank you again for your terrific music!  Sorry that you are having trouble sleeping again.  I take two Tylenol nightime pills and that helps me so very much and now have put a foam top on the mattress - boy, to sleep like a baby again would be nice.

Do you want a good laugh?  Well, we were painting our bedroom yesterday and somehow managed to spill almost a full gallon of paint in the kitchen - all over the cabinets, everywhere.  Don had to throw away his old shoes and I scrubbed for a couple of hours on all of that and even used a spatula to try to save some of the paint..  It was so sad that it was funny - I think every speck is cleaned up now.  Always something.....but now we have another story to tell everyone.  Carol

Gareth Parkes

I have placed several new London items in the Photography section folk; The Painted Hall, Cutty Sark and London.

Sorry if anyone struggles to see the photos; with everyones help I think I am getting it sorted.

Blessings

Ruthie

Hi Everyone....I am watching a hockey game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators.    This in the 5th game in the Playoffs, so it is very important.  So far after the 2nd inning there are NO GOALS.   I'm not really a hockey fan, but all my family are watching the game and there are blue and white Maple Leaf flags on all the cars in Toronto.   It is being played at the huge Air Canada Centre that seats 18,000 people.   So I will talk to you after the game.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I would like to see more pictures Garth-that would be great. I need to try and upload some photo's on here-can someone tell me how?

Hi Everyone...

Guess you've gone back to the TV, Ruthie!  I've been trying to page you on Yahoo!  I'm watching too!  But it's 1-0 now for TORONTO!

WHOOOOOIEEEEEE!!!
Only about 3 minutes left in the game--anything can happen!

Rachelle, I'd like you to go to Photo-Sense and register there.  It's free.  Neil who owns the site is Tragicharpy on Christian Photographers and he doesn't mind if some of our folk who don't have a webpage use his site and then you'll be able to link back to CP.  We'll help you through this.  All you have to do is make sure that your photos aren't all that huge on your hard drive and you just transfer them to your own gallery there and then post on here.

Soni or I or Nards or Karma or Marilyn would be very happy to help you.  Until you get set up there I'll be happy to post for you. Just send the photos as an attachment in an email to me.

It's 2-0 now for TORONTO~!!!
They've even got bagpipes playing!

HAHAHAHA!  See?  Ruthie, you didn't have to go upstairs!  I could have given you a minute by minute run down!  Only 1 minute and 40 seconds left in the game!

I don't blame you for loving the results, Marilyn.  You're doing great.  It's a wonderful program, isn't it?

Now I'm off to put the coffee pot together for tomorrow and go to bed with my new library book.  Sweet dreams, everyone.

My arm/shoulder is feeling much better now.  I am able to do without the sling much of the time.  I think I just need it for a reminder not to over reach or lift anything too heavy with that arm.   :P  I went to sing at the Nursing Home today, and even managed to carry some of the equipment .... but with my left hand! hahaha

I brought wood in for a fire (also carrying most of the weight with my left arm) and I may even try to drive to the store tomorrow ... If I can do that without a problem then I will be able to get to church Sunday on my own too.

I will be careful, though, okay?   :P :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

When I got back to the computer I realized that Pat had given a play by play account of the game.  Now Toronto and Ottawa will be playing in Ottawa.

WHO KNOWS TORONTO COULD POSSIBLY BE PLAYING AGAINST ONE OF THE STATES TEAMS AND WIN THE STANLEY CUP!

The horns are blowing and the blue and white flags are flying all over the place.

Dear Rachelle...I will certainly pray for your friend and your little Whitney for her cold and her ears.

Hi Ria...I am sorry to hear about your neighbour's death.  Let's pray that his wife will accept the Lord.

About your husband's snoring  -  I remember a friend invented a device that was to stop snoring.   It was some hard balls strapped onto a person's back and when the person rolled onto his back in his sleep the balls would stick into him and he would immediately roll onto his side and then STOP SNORING!  I thought it was a good invention.

Janet, cleaning the frame and the picture sounds like a delicate operation.  I know it is worth it to restore the old pictures.  It will mean a lot to your client to have that done.

WELCOME HAYLEY TO CP.   YOU WILL LOVE IT HERE![/b]
Thank you Pat for that wonderful music "OUR GOD REIGNS"  and I'm so glad He does.

Thank you Gareth for that lovely picture of Buckingham Palace.  I have seen it but not with the water and park in front.

Carol what an awful thing to have a gallon of paint spill.  I think I would be crying, not laughing.  Glad you finally got it all up.

Wow...Wonderful pictures on Sunrises and Sunsets.  Please look.

Good Night Everyone.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

I have made a mistake and put Heather's birthday card in todays thread and her birthday is tomorrow. I will have to move it over there in the morning.

Pat Sunrises and Sunsets, Etta Sue has a lot of those ;D
I guess it is time to get some new ones huh? ???

I only see the sunrise through the trees Idon't think I am going out driving at that hours looking for a good shot of the sunrise. :-\

Sunsets are also hard to get from where I am located. I will come up with something though.

Nite Nite y-all
