Morning Devotional...

..They shall never perish.          John 10:28

Wonderful words, and they mean exactly what they say!

"Never" is a long time! Yes, there are some people who will never perish, who are safe forever in the hands of the Lord. They have eternal life, because the Lord Himself has given it to them.

Are you one of those people?

The Lord tells how to recognize them; they hear His voice and follow Him. They don't just know things about Him, they belong to Him personally, and He keeps them forever.

If you have never heard His voice and decided to follow Him, let today be the day!
                                                                                       ~Carl Knott~

Jesus, my Lord, will love me forever,
from Him no power of evil can sever;
He gave His life to ransom my soul--
now I belong to Him!

This is such a great example...........of The Living Bible

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college. Across the  street from the campus is a well-dressed, very  conservative church.

They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it. One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick. About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece
suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do. How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach
the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do. And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't
be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget.

"Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read".

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today.

To guide you and protect you as you go along your way......

His love is always with you, His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares, You know He will see us through.

God Bless all of you

Pat, thanks for the devotional and links.  There was one man in our fellowship who was greatly perplexed because  he feared that he might not be one of the lucky ones whome God had chosen.  It was nice to point him to the passage that tells us that whoever comes to me (Christ) I will no wise cast out.  The Love of God is all-embracing and it is wonderful to be able to dwell on that theme on this day in particular.

Judy  I really loved your story.  Is that a true story?  It never ceases to amaze me how we can judge people by the way that they look without even realising that we are doing it.  Jamese's epistle says something about that I think.

I trust that everyone has a great day today and I look forward to enjoying fellowship with you.

Anthony.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning,

While Good Friday is obviously symbolic of the actual day our Saviour died for us, it gives me the opportunity each year to contemplate His overwhelming love for us. I never cease to be amazed that He cared THAT much - to give His very life that we might find salvation.

Y'all have a good day today.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Good morning to all who come in to this community....I pray that your day goes well and that we take this time to remember our Lord and what He has done for us. I myself am very thankful for Him and His self-sacrificing love for me and the whole world.

Welcome Judy....great story that you shared thanks and come in and chat and share more often with us if you will.

Hello Anthony, and Ruth Ann....God bless you both...
bye for now....Paulette

Carol

Welcome Larry!  We hope that you post often.  Will you be in high altitude in Peru?  What an exciting endeavor!  Good Luck.

Judy:  So sorry to read that you and hubbie had so much pain - and at the same time.  Thanks for your story on the "different" man at worship.

Janet:  Sorry that you had a frustrating day of waiting for news about Beth.

Marilyn:  The insurance on both our cars went up almost $200 for the year and same vehicles.  It gets annoying.  I liked your doggie story on when you said "run run".

We are going to Good Friday services tonight.  Yesterday, missed the Maundy Thursday service - there is also Saturday night service and of course the great Easter morning gathering.  Tonight will be filled with special music and is such a treat - so much work for pastor and choir this entire week.

We will have 13 in total for Easter dinner and it looks like cooler weather.  Carol

mercychild

Good morning everyone.  How is your day going so far?  We have a windy, rainy day, but we're supposed to start getting warmer weather tomorrow.

Pat, that was great that you added the poet's corner!  I didn't think you'd take me seriously.  :D.

I can't post very much this morning, we have a full morning of work ahead of us.  I'll probably pop back on later.  Jen.

Anthony

It's good to see so many posting this morning.  God bless you all and I hope you have a good day today.

Ruth Ann, it's so good to hear you testifying to the love that the Lord has shown towards you.  How nice it is to be able to look back on all that the Lord has done for us.  Thanks for your contribution.

Paulette, God bless you sister and I sure do hope you have a great day today.  Are you going to the concert tonight?  Have a great time if it is.

Carol, I do trust that the services at your church will be a blessing.  It is a lot of work for the church leaders, but I am sure that the congregation will know the benefit of their labours.  God bless you sister.

Jen (am I allowed to call you Jen?  You can call me Mr Patrick if you like ;D)  Do you write poetry yourself?  It is nice to write spiritual poems I thinkk - where the words can testify to the goodness of God.  If you do write poems, I hope you will share some of them with us.

Have a great day everyone.  I am just getting ready to go to the gym (my ribs have healed quite well).

See y'all later.

Anthony.

Kathy

Hello to all of you.  :) :) :)  I'm so glad I found you again.  Thank you , Pat for the e-mail and telling me you were up & running your morning devotional again!
I'll need to try and play "catch-up" now.

Today is such a sad/glad time. My heart  hurts knowing that Jesus had to suffer for all my sin.   What a terrible day for Him to have suffered so.

But, He lives, He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!

God bless all of you during this Easter season!

Papa John

Good morning.

Thanks, Pat, for the devotional.

Judy your story reminds us that God is no respecter of persons.  Every soul is precious.  in His sight.

James 2:1-5
1   My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.
2   Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.
3   If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet,"
4   have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5   Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?  (NIV)

--- Papa John    ;D

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Today is a day of prayer for me. I thank you all for all the kindness and the words that help me through my day. I sometimes feel as I should say a thank you for every time i get a help from each of you. I hope you all know i read your every word and in such a short time I have a love for all of you as my friends.

and a most special prayer of thanks to my friend ms Karmat for your help to me.  :-[ I am so glad you are my friend :'(

Hi everyone on Good Friday.  God gave us rain last night, some fog this morning and now overcast but the sun is suppose to burn through the clouds later today.  What else could we ask for.  In a way this is almost a metaphor for the Easter season.

JudyB, your story spoke volumes.  Sometimes an example is worth more than thousands of words and that story certainly painted a vivid picture in my mind.

Larry Rockwell, it is good to see you are joining us hear.  I am certainly looking forward to learning more about you and your preparation for missionary work.  It is nice to have another Larry posting here.

Speaking of the cost of car insurance, we insure three cars and pay over $1,600 a year.  The rates are very high around the Atlanta area as there are so many cars and the risks are higher.

Judy, hope you are in less pain today.

Janet, glad to see you safely home and understand your frustration in not learning much from the doctor in Beth's behalf.  Perhaps the tests done this week will shed some light on the situation when you go back on the 28th.

Paulette and Jen, hope you enjoy the Steve Green concert.  I believe he gave a concert at our church sometime ago but we didn't attend.  Our youth minister is part time because he represents Christian music groups and artists so we have quite a few concerts at our church.  I remember a  concert we attended put on by the group Glad.  It was a great concert.  A few months ago we had a young woman professional Christian singer give a concert and she made some very difficult demands concerning the length of the grand piano and that it had to be tuned at the day before and again at noon on the day of her concert.  That struck me as being a bit unreasonable.

Kathy, glad you found us again.

Papa John, your sailing trip sounds like a lot of fun but I don't think I would want to get too far from the shore.  What if the wind died down?  ??? ???  Enjoy your last few days in Florida.  Your scripture reference is right on with the story that JudyB posted.

Al, did you write that piece about "Look at the Cross"?

Hi Anthony, Marilyn  and  everyone joining us today.

I plan a very quiet day today as have nothing on the schedule.  Pat isn't feeling too good today and has laid back down for awhile.  She has had a good week so far but I guess is paying for the shopping she has done the last few days.  This is just her fibromyalgia acting up and it will pass.

Pat, I am going to use the Bible verse you have in the devotional this morning after my name.  Thanks for using it today.

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

It was great to see JudyB posting last night.  The more you do it, Judy, the easier it will become.  Glad you like the photo of you that I put in by your name.  Now, we have to work on the "llama" status!   :o

Hi Anthony...  It's wonderful to know that the Lord chose me.  I am ever so thankful for that each day.  I'm glad that I, too, am included in the "whoever".  It's good too, to hear that your ribs are healed now.  Today I feel as if I have some broken ones!  (But they really aren't!)

Good Morning to you Ruth Ann.  Yes, what an overwhelming love for us God had when He gave His only son to die for us!

You didn't tell me where Keith Green is singing, Paulette and Jen.  Have a great day.  It's kind of chilly here in Guelph this morning.  It doesn't know whether to rain or snow!   :o  No, Jen, you have to fill up the Poet's Corner for us!  :o

Enjoy the services at your church, Carol.  I think I'll be at Janice's tonight.  My insurance on my one car seems high to me too but then upon checking what others around here pay, it's really not.

Kathy, it's so good to see you!
I was getting concerned as to where you were!  We have your wonderful testimony on our web page but no Kathy posting in here!  :-[

Papa John, thanks so my for your added words of wisdom this morning.  I so look forward to them each day.

JudyB ~ I have read this story several times in my e-mail and it still causes tears to well up. Thank you for posting it!

mercychild ~ I have a poem that my Daily Encounter was built around today and it is also found in Hymnal's. I will post it. It is by Sir John Bowring, it is "In the cross of Christ I glory,"

Papa John ~ That is so true and I know people who do judge people by their dress or their homes and yards. I try not judge by appearances.

Al Moak ~ So very true words. It is great. Would be great to print out and tack where you can see it all the time.

Marilyn ~ I believe everyone who posts in CP adds something to the others lives. You have added much to all of our lives.

It has been so good to read everyone's uplifting messages.  It's beautiful weather here in the UK, but it is supposed to go cold again in a few days.

Kathy, it's good to see you posting today.  Your thoughts are so encouraging.  Our Lord went through the depths of agony, but He rose victorious - what a glorious thought.  Do you know the chorus Because He lives, I can face tomorrow  I love the words to that song.

Papa John, a very pertinent scripture quote.  I am afraid that I too am guilty of judging people by their appearance.  The man who led me to the Lord always used to tell me to look for those people in church who are on their own and go up to them and share the  love of God with them.  It is surprising how much the love of the Lord fills your heart when this is done.

Al, that's a very thought-provoking piece of prose.  Thank you for sharing it with us.  Did you write that?

Marilyn, that was a very edifying message.  Thank you for it and we all enjoy meeting up with you and gaining something from your posts.

Meika, how nice to have met you on this forum.  I am glad that Karma has been a good friend to you.  She keeps throwing things at me, but in a friendly way.  Keep on posting, we are all coming to love you very much :)

Larry, what a strange request by the lady singer.  It reminded of one time when a visiting preacher insisted on iced lime juice in the glass while he ministered the word.  I am afraid that the pastor gave him water like everyone else (we were out of lime juice ;))  It's good to see you today brother.

Pat, it is always good to hear from you.  What are you planning for today?  I would love to take you to that Steve Green concert, but I don't think I could get over there in time  ;)  Have a great day whatever you do.  If you have time Pat, could you post the weaver's poem  in the poetry section.  I have it somewhere, but I can't remember what book it is in.

Jerry, it's good to see you today.  I am just off to the poetry section to read the poem you posted up.  Some of these hymns are almost like scripture (almost!) as I am sure that they are inspired by the Holy Spirit.  Thanks for posting it.

Janet, I am so sorry that the trip to Texas (I think it was Texas) was a bit of waste of time.  I do trust that the doctors will be able to help Beth out.  It sounds like you've got another busy day ahead of you.  I have been working on my website today and getting a bit tired of the computer.  It's still good to look in on the forum though.  I hope you have a great day anyway sister.

Phew, I  hope I have mentioned everyone.  God bless to you all and for those who are attending services tonight, may the Lord bless each assembly.

Good Morning All,

I've been checking in but keeping my post to a min.
I'm working on better time management.LOL

I hope all of you are going to have a wonderful weekend as we turn our eyes to the Father!
I have yet to decide what delicious dish I will be taking to my MIL for dinner?

It looks like we will have a slight break in our rain for a day or so, then it's expected to return. I hope to get out while the suns out and get some photos.
Happy Easter Blessings,
Denise

Anthony

Pat, I was being a  bit lazy there.  I should try to find my copy of it, but I really can't think which book I found it in.  What a beautiful poem though.

Denise, well done for looking at the time management thing.  It's a must I think.  The Lord does want us to use each moment of the day very wisely.  How about doing steak and kidney pie and chips for your MIL?  The gravy running over the chips is a great treat (must be followed by treacle sponge and ice-cream :D)

Etta Sue

I have been up since 7AM but just now posting.  Seems like my plans for the day have went awry!  I called Ivalou, then she came over here.  Seems there are some problems in the family.  I may post a prayer request in the Have You Prayed About It? section.

I am amazed at what I learn about the Bible after reading the same scripture several times.  Today, the 'Our Daily Bread' gave me a lesson.  The scripture reading was Luke 23:32-49....about the two thieves at Jesus' crucifixion.  I am not very good at putting things in my own words so I will type out what ODB said in reply to the verses...

There were three crosses on Calvary's hill.  On one was man dying in sin--he did not accept Jesus.  On another was a man dying to sin--he trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord (Luke 23:40-43).  And on the middle cross was One dying for sin.
He could die for others because He was God's Son and had no sin of His own.  The center cross made all the difference for those two men hanging beside Jesus--the difference between an eternal hell and an eternal heaven.

The whole world is represented by those two thieves and their response to the Lord Jesus.  I see in the three crucified individuals a picture of the sinner, the saint, and the Savior.

A man was asked to receive Christ but put it off saying, "Oh, don't bother me now.  There is always the eleventh hour.  Remember the dying thief."  He was shocked when the persistent Christian said pointedly, "Which thief?  Remember, there were two!"  The man responded, "That's right.  I had forgotten that.  I meant the saved one!"  That very night he decided to trust Jesus for his salvation.

Look in faith now to the One in heaven who one hung in the middle cross.  You too will hear His word of forgiveness and hope.
       --Henry Bosch

When Jesus Christ my Savior suffered loss,
He game Himself because He saw my need;
It was my sin that nailed Him to the cross--
I cannot blame another for the deed.  --Hess

I knew there were two thieves with Christ.  Now I know why.

Good Evening to all,

Been away again but this time I was ill.

Caught a head cold that lingered on and hit my ears which started the vertigo and could not keep head up long enough to type much less read the postings.

Now I am stuck with a horrible cough so I will be reading more than posting.

So many to read and I just want to Praise the Lord for the Love HE shows to us all today.

This is a sad day for me to know that I cause some of his pain on the cross.  but bittersweet knowing that HE did we will have eternal security.

Love your poem, Al, so very fitting.

Hi to all new comers.

Going to try and read some more and if I don't get a chance to type again , a Blessed Holiday to all.

Love in Christ,

Welcome Larry!!!  Good to have you on the team

Papa John

Well, it is nice to see so many here today.

We have had another nice day as we finish our holiday.  Went swimming this morning.  We went out and did a little shopping this afternoon.  Tonight we went to a Sea Food restaurant on the bay.  One of those ultra light planes landed on the water right outside our window.  There were a number of interesting boats in the bay.

Tomorrow is our last regular day here.  Sunday we will go to our Easter service and later in the day we will pack up and and leave for home Monday morning.  All good things have to come to an end.

Papa John ~ Did you get any pictures of that plane landing in the water?  I know you are sad to leave Florida but, like you say, all good things have to come to an end.

I finished my PSP lessons today.  This was one of my lessons to make this little animation....

It's afternoon here, but I made it.

As always, Pat, the devotionals seem to go right along with where the Lord has taken me in my day.

When will we know where Global Moderator Larry will be stationed? :)    I'm looking forward to being there.

Today has been a day of expectancy for me.  I know that tomorrow I have a very special appointment.   I feel that God wants me to spend the whole day with Him, and so I'm looking forward to it with great excitement.  I know that He is always with us......but this is special.....a day set aside for just the two of Us......(I'm sitting here grinning from ear to ear) He's blessed me with the time to do that.   Just imagine....we serve a Lord who desires to spend time alone with us. :D  I don't know what I'll do yet...maybe drive out to the beach with my Bible, maybe take my camera with me.....or just stay home.  It doesn't matter to me.  I just want to feel God's Presence manifested as He chooses.  I just want Him. Heh.....I have an idea.  I'll let God be in charge, and not make any plans at all!  You know what?  This feels like a date.  :)

It's been sunny most of the day here in Coos Bay.  Jane came over for coffee this morning, and I thought about sitting outside, but it isn't that warm yet.  Won't be long.

It's so good to read all the posts, and devotionals shared.  It's just really nice to hear your hearts of love for the Lord.  That's what blesses me.  I get encouraged every time I come here.

Joyce, I pray you'll be feeling well soon.  Hurry now...ok? :)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Thanks for the nice comments and welcoming.  It is an honor to take a small role here and I hope what we will be doing will brings blessings through the effort.  I am excited about the opportunity and think many of you will find it of benefit.  Anthony, I can assure you it won't have anything to do with exercise, at least not physical exercise.   ;D

It is good to see so many posting today and such positive messages.

Larry

Marilyn

Hey Etta Sue that's pretty neat. How'd you do dat?

Nita I like your date, sure sounds like a winner to me.

Since I was home yesterday I got to watch the 700 Club and participate in communion, that was super special for me. I do enjoy the 700 club, been watching it for years now whenever I get the chance. I love seeing the news from a Christian perspective.

Well I think I will get off the computer for awwhile and find something constructive to do while I watchTV. Like crocheting  dog blankets or something like that.

Hey there!  I know, I know, where have I been all day?  Well, Nita just told you I spent the morning at her house ... then I spent the afternoon at my house ... then I spent the evening here, too ... oh, it's still evening in Coos Bay, so now I'm checking into CP.  I come here often, but seldom post.  I discovered I don't have to post to be notified of replies.   :D

I just think I might take a drive out to the beach tomorrow, too, NITA ... Maybe...maybe not.  We'll see.  ;)  I remember when that was the standard answer whenever we asked our mother for anything..."We'll see"!   hmmmm   I also remember it becoming a very good answer for me to give my girls.  Sure can get you out of a lot of commitments that you don't want to make!  I found, however, that when my mother said it, it usually meant "forget about it"!   :-\

I will now take myself on a tour of CP and see what everyone's been up to in the other forums.  Take care, and I shall return!

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jeanne Lee

Whew, I sure had a lot to catch up on tonight.  :-\

Since yesterday evening, almost hour by hour, the Lord has been reminding me what He must have been going through at a particular time.  Last night He brought me thoughts of His loneliness at the desertion of His disciples, the interogations by the priests and Pontius Pilate.  The humiliation of hearing the crowd demanding His death and the release of Barrabas.  The lashing and the crown of thorns being forced onto His head, in the sadistic hands of Roman barbarians.

Earlier today came thoughts of the procession through Jerusalem carrying the heavy cross with its weight on the lash wounds, with most of the crowd jeering at his plight.

Then the driving of nails into His body, and hanging in agony with all of His weight on those nails, but bearing the greater weight and agony of the sins of all mankind and the total separation from the Father.

Death removing the physical pain, but the continuing excruciating pain of separation from God for another two and a half days.

And just think...  if I had been the only person on earth at the time, He still would have borne everything just for me!  He is just exactly that personal a Savior today!!!

I just read this on a message board at Weightwatchers.com, adn thought I would share it with you.

The thread was titled "In Case You Didn't Know What Good Friday Is . . ."
by worldpeacenik (user name on ww.com)

Good Friday is the day that Jesus Christ was crucified. He overcame death and rose from the grave on the third day ... Easter Sunday. Our culture has twisted spiritual holidays so that we can get something material out of them. Christ's birthday ... Santa Claus; Easter ... the bunny and basket. Oh, it's okay to have Santa and Bunny, but not okay to have it replace the true meanings of Christmas and Easter.

Good Friday may have originally been "God's Friday", just as "God be with ye" eventually changed to "Good-bye". However, we may call it Good Friday because all the tragedy that truly took place on this date brought about the greatest good possible.

If we call it "Mourning Friday" we are facing reality head on, taking up the Cross and becoming fully conscious that the Christian walk is seldom a walk in the park. But if we call it "Good Friday", we are confessing the Christian hope and faith that no tragedy - not even death - can separate us from God or even slightly overwhelm God's providence, love and grace. Either way we choose to label today seems okay to me.

I thank Him and I remember Him this day.

Marilyn

Karma: I posted the link for the Midi for enemy's camp for you. I love all the wonderdful thoughts about Good Friday that have been posted here. Jeanne, every night I have been meditating on what Jesus might have been going through on that particular day in hHis life. It began with His triumphal entry into Jerusalem onthe donkey colt on Palm Sunday.

We have christians who teach there kids that there is a Santa and an Easter bunny, but Chandraya doesn't know who the Easter bunny is. She heard a story about him at the library and thought he stole eggs from other bunnys.  Not sure how she got that.  We do color eggs but not on this weekend.  We will do that in the next month.  I have always enjoyed that and think it is a fun activity to do with your kids.  We do the hiding though and not the "Easter bunny".  And Santa is, well, He just gets to much attention.  I try to stay away from material things during christmas.

Either way just remember what the true meaning is and teach it to your kids that way.

Hello everyone.  Oh, I am so far behind I fear I will never catch up reading all your posts this week.  Just thought I would send in a hello tonight at least.

I have been busy sewing, remaking a dress pattern for my daughter and then making the dress and light jacket.  Church meetings, Doctor appts, dentist, etc.

We had 3 granddaughters visiting last weekend, and 2 husbands.  Sure was fun having them here.  Another granddaughter will be visiting from Chicago this weekend.    She flew in to Albuquerque tonight, and is there with friends picking out wedding attire tomorrow.  Patty is to be maid of honor.

I hope all of you are doing well, I will try to read your posts tomorrow or soon as I can.  It is 11:55 PM and I must get to bed.   G'Night all,  Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Â  Ps 118:24

I sure hope that everything is ok with Pat.  God bless you sister if you are looking in.

Karma I couldn't believe that piece you found at weightwatchers.  How wonderful to see something like that on their website.  (You've no excuse not to lose any weight now ;D)

I can't stay on too long today as I have much to do.  God bless you all and thanks for your fellowship.

Hello everyone.

Anthony-yes, I TRY to write poetry myself.  Try being the operative word!

Pat-It was Steve Green, not Keith Green.  It went so well though.  I really like his music.

Al-that was a lovely piece!  I appreciate it so much.  Thank you for sharing that.

Well, I can't stay on long, we are having our dinner tonight, so there is going to be a bit of work to be done before that.  Good to see you all, hope you have a wonderful Easter with your families.  God bless you all.  Jen.

Janet

Good morning!  Pat is at her daughter Janice's, Anthony.  I'm sure she is having a great time with her grandkids there, and will be back later today.

Janice, it's surely good to have you back!  Sounds as if you are having a really busy time right now.  Enjoy those grandkids!  Aren't they great?

I am going to an auction in a little while.  I'm looking for an old wooden chair to paint in a seminar in August.  And I like going to auctions, anyway!

It is good, Sonja, that you are keeping the special times of Jesus' life special and separate from the trappings of the world; so much better for your kids.  I think you're a great Mom!  Hugs to you, Mike and the kids!  How is Zachery's stomach today?

I'm excited about our "Coming Attraction" here in CP!

Hello, Anthony!  How are you doing?  Are you still attending college on Saturdays?

I must be getting around, auction starts soon, and I want to "scope things out!"  ;)

Talk to you all later!

Marilyn

I would like to share my devotional with you this morning.

2 Timothy 4:8 "There is laid up for me a crown."

What a way to go!!

Margie Morton, a woman of exceptional faith, battled cancer for years.  Towards the end, her doctor wanted to send her to yet another hospital with no real prospect  of recovering.  Having lived a full life, Margie decided to stay home and spend her remaining days with her family.  When it was time, she asked her husband to take her  to the hospital.  Upon arrival, her family gathered around and prayed with her.  before the left the said "We'll be back tomorrow Mom." She wispered, "You won't find much."
After they'd gone she showered, fixed her hair and put on a brand new nightgown.  as she was getting back into bed a nurse remarked, "You look like you're dressed for a coronation!." Margie replied, "I am, I'm going to meet my King." Within minutes she went to be with Jesus.  What a way to go!
That's the kind of faith that enabled Paul to write, "The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith...There is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord...will award...not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing" (2 Tim:4:6-8 NAS)
After Sir Walter Raleigh was beheaded they found these lines written in his Bible: "But from this earth, this grave, this dust; My God shall raise me up, I trust." Raleigh maintained his faith to the end. That's victory! That's death without a sting! That's the reality of Easter.

It's good to meet up with everyone today.

Mercychild, it's great that you are having a go  at writing poetry.  It's good to devote our talents to the Lord.  I used to write some songs and play them on the guitar.  I tried to remember one that I particularly liked that had an easter message, but I couldn't remember it all.  Never mind.  I  hope you write some of your poems in the new area of the forum.

Janet, thanks for telling me about Pat.  I was wondering what had happened.  I like going to auctions to.  I could do with a strong table for me to put something on.  Perhaps I will look for an auction around here.  Have a great day.  BTW, I am still plodding on with the photography course.  We are having 2 weeks break for Easter and then we are back.  I am enjoying learning.

Marilyn, thanks for putting the devotional up.  It was a bonus to be able to read it.

Jerry and Etta Sue, have  a great day and I hope the rehearsals go well.

I was planning on going out for the day, but couldn't make it in the end.  I've just been working quietly on the computer.

See you all later on.

Anthony.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone, it is good to see the devotionals being shared by Marilyn, Karmat and the thoughts shared by Jeanne as they really cause one to think.  I am sure Pat will be happy to see them as well when she returns home.

I have been busy working on the "Coming Attraction" and believe it will be ready before too long.

Our choir is singing at both services tomorrow.  In the Easter music that was sung last Sunday by our choir the final piece really fit the Resurrection and so our choir director made the decision to wait and do that piece on Easter Sunday.

I hope everyone has a nice day.  See you all later.

Larry

Pat

Well, an earlier home "Good Morning" to you all!!

I had a lovely afternoon and evening with the kids and the grandkids and then Janice was called into work today and Phil was already working so since the two girls had loads of laundry to do and I was kind of chilly, I left for home early as I still have some Avon to get to people and a lot of cleaning to do.

I'm just in the door.  Of course, the first thing I did was put a pot of coffee on and so I'll go and pour one and come back and read all of the posts in here.

Anthony, I just happen to have some "bickies" hidden away for special folk so you and I will have one with our coffee!

I don't eat too  many bickies right now since they are high in carbs and I'm trying so hard to get this weight down!

mercychild

Good to see you on Pat, I'm glad you enjoyed your time with your family.  Are you going back out tonight?  Any plans?  I'll have to be calling you later too.  It's just a lot has been going on here, and I had a lot of preparatory work to do BEFORE I could plant my garden.  I'm hoping I can get it all done today and get the plants planted, but we shall see.  Living in a large family means living with large demands, I guess.  But right now Allison, Andrea and Hannah are out.  Ben and Hannah were out with me digging up the dirt, and of course both of them came away with handfuls of worms!  Yuck!  That was one thing I could never stand, at least not without gloves.

Anthony-did you ever save any of your work?  If you did, you should see if you can dig some of it up too.  My younger sister writes songs with her guitar too.  She's really talented.  Good to see both of you online.  Talk to you later.  Jen.

Well I've finished my laundry and housecleaning, gone to get food and gassed my car. I am watching an interesting program on TV about the Traditions of the American Indian Dance. I went to a Pow Wow once years ago. I am having one of "those" days where I am really missing being with my family. But it won't be long now and we will be neighbors. Some days I just feel more alone than others. It is so quiet here except for the TV. So I think I will find something else to do. See you all later.

Marilyn, we can feel on our own sometimes can't we.  I sometimes suffer from this myself and am glad that Pat invited me back onto the forums.  Christian fellowship is particularly helpful.  I do hope that your day goes well and that your move goes smoothly.

Papa John, it looks like the vacation will be another of your memories shortly.  I hope you took lots of photographs that will help in remembering the great time that you had.  Have a great day.

Sonja, I hope your photo taking goes well.  If the sun isn't too intense it might make for a better photo.  I am sure that you will  do well again.  BTW, how did you manage to take a photograph of yourself.  You look quite a way away from the camera to have used the self-timer.

Mercychild, it sounds like you are having a busy day today.  Don't forget to let the others lend a helping hand.  Have a great day.

I am nearly at the end of my day and am happy that I got a lot of work done on the computer.  Once I finished my present task, I hope to not spend quite so much time on here (that won't affect my time on CP of course, I love coming here).  Perhaps I need to do some gardening now that the fine weather is on its way.

God bless everyone and see you all in the morning.

Anthony.

BTW Pat thanks for putting links at the top of the page.  That is very helpful.

Pat

Well, Anthony, you have no idea (or maybe you do) how I was shaking having to make adjustements to that horrible template!!!  HAHAHAHA!

I'm still shaking!

Wow, it's been a busy day here!  I finally got my garden set up, so now I can plant the bulbs next weekend.  I'm so glad I got it all accomplished!

Anthony-I did get some help, my older brother had to help me because we had to bolt some of the ties together, and stake them into the ground to raise the garden bed.

Pat-how are those Avon orders coming, making a dent in them at all yet?  ;).

welcome to Pat Hanna!!!!!!

We went to see Steve Green in concert last night, it was so well done.  He doesn't put on a stage performance, like so many people do.  He got all the kids to come up at one point too.  We also got to take home a plant that was on stage, a nice bushy fern.  It was such a nice evening.

Well, gotta go get ready, I'm still kinda dirty from working in the garden.  God bless.  Jen.

Good evening!  Jerry and I went to rehearsal.  I sure hope it is cooler in there tomorrow morning.  My face got beet red and it was so hot.  But I think Jerry and I learned a lot today.  The Easter services will be in our newest room...basketball court size and called the Christian Life Center or CLC.  Sometimes ....gym!  The sunrise service will be in the santuary and I am to run the lights in there but they weren't working today.

So it will be an early evening tonight since I will have to get up by 5am.  Hope the alarm works in the morning.

We drove around Greenfield before coming home.  A lot of building going on.  On TV the other day said the county I live in now is the fastest growing county in the state and the county I DID live in is the third fastest growing county in the state.  Seems people are leaving Indianapolis and moving to the country!!  It was nice driving around leisurely and enjoying the sites.

WHEW! - my goodness.... what a chatty bunch you are!  This serves me right....take a day off from CP and then its nearly impossible to get caught up!

Its nice to see we have another "Judy" on the forum.  Judy., is your real name:"Judith"....thats mine....Judith Ann.  My parents always called me "Judith" when I was in trouble!  My friends call me "Jude"!  LOL

Marilyn:  I understand how you can feel lonely at times.  Have you ever felt lonely in a crowd?  I have., and its a feeling I can get quite often, if I don't give it over to the Lord.

Since I have had arthritis, and not able to participate in a lot of things that my friends do., I am often left out., and thats when the lonliness sets in.  This is when I have to really rely on the Lord.  My husband is a good help, and a good person to talk to when I get times like that.

Am I making sense?  Probably not!

Larry... I am anxious to see what you will be doing here in CP.... and a special hello to your wife Pat.

Papa John:  Have a safe drive back to Tenn. from Florida.  It is Tennessee is it not?

Last night we attended our Easter Cantata at our church.  It was such a blessing....I wish all of you could see it., but I'm sure your own churches will have a special service for each of you!

Easter blessings to all.,

Love,

Judy McK.

Etta Sue,

You are getting pretty fancy in here.  You may have to teach us dummies how to do that.

Judy Mc,

Yes it is back to Tennessee, the dimple of the universe.  We will be glad to get home but we kind of hate to leave here.  I'll miss my daily swim.

Anthony,

Yes, it is almost over now.  We go to church here tomorrow but next Sunday we will be with our home congregation.  We have made a lot of pictures.  I may share a few more tonight if I can get some together.

Janet

I received this via email today from Carol Benedict who used to post as Chemo Angel Carol.  She asked that I share it here.  I have encouraged her to come in and post too, so I really hope she will.

Hello!
I have had a time with this Celiac Disease, just trying to eat nothing that
has Gluten in it. It takes a long time to buy grocers now, ha! I did eat
something with Gluten in it & paid for that. Was sick for a good while. At
least the biopsy came out no cancer, but I do have the disease. My whole
family practically has it.
I've been busy with my Sunday School class. We did a small play last Sunday
about Palm Sunday & this week we will finish it for the Easter service.
After that, the children are all coming over to Moon Meadow to find the
Easter eggs that we have hidden. Inside the plastic eggs is what they won. I
have never wanted to do too much for Easter with eggs, cause I didn't want
the children to focus on just that, but the true meaning of Easter. This
church does however, hide eggs, so we are doing that with the Easter baskets
with things about Easter from the Christian book store. I think this will
work really well. I'm excited about having the children over.
Pray for my son & his wife. Problems there & my daughter in-law is talking
about moving here with the children. I would love them to be here, but has
to be the Lord's will that they come.
In spite of all this & the war to be concerned about, I do count on the Lord
to get us all through this. I know that we can't go down the wrong path if
we let Him lead us. He is such a great & loving God!
God bless all of you!
Carol from "Moon Meadow"

We don't focus on Santa or the Easter Bunny either, though Travis does have a basket, adn we will have an egg hunt tomorrow at mom's.  One year, the special egg was the empty one, and the kids had to figure out why.  That got it pretty quickly.  Tonight, Bernard and I let Travis "practice" hunting eggs and putting them in a basket.  To a 15 month old, though, they are just weird looking balls, so at one point, we had 48 plastic eggs all over the living room.  He would say, "Ball." Pick one up, then throw it as far as possible.   ::)

Lots of posts; I won't even begin to address everyone except to say "HI"  I hope everyone has the best, most blessed Easter ever tomorrow.  (Secret whisper -- It is Bernard's birthday as well :-X)

Easter is a special time of year for our family.  We do not do the Easter egg or rabbit thing that simply isn't what it is all about.  We get involved with church activities, choirs and presentations.  They are very knowledgeable about the true meaning of "Holy Days".  At Christmas we do not do the Santa thing, we give a choice of gift and generally they have an idea what they are getting.  They think santa is fun to laugh and pretend about, but they know that is all "Let's pretend" and the birth of our Saviour is the Real thing.  All kids need the stability of TRUTH and in knowing the reality of Jesus they have that stability.

Here is something that will inspire you.
57 cents

To the world you might be one person, But to one person you might be the World!!

A sobbing little girl stood near a small church from which she had been turned away because it "was too crowded." "I can't go to Sunday School," she sobbed to the pastor as he walked by.

Seeing her shabby, unkempt appearance, the pastor guessed the reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a place for her in the Sunday school class. The child was so happy that they found room for her, that she went to bed that night thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus.

Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor tenement buildings and the parents called for the kindhearted pastor, who had befriended their daughter, to handle the final arrangements.

As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some trash dump. Inside was found 57 cents and a note scribbled in childish handwriting which read, "This is to help build the little church bigger so more children can go to Sunday School. For two years she had saved for this offering of love.

When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion.  He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building.

But the story does not end there!

A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read by a Realtor who offered them a parcel of land worth many thousands. When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered it for 57cents.

Church members made large donations. Checks came from far and wide.
Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00--a huge sum for that time (near the! turn of the century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividend.

When you are in the city of Philadelphia, look up Temple Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300 and Temple University, where hundreds of students are trained.

Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday School building which houses hundreds of Sunday Schoolers, so that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside during Sunday school time.  In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so sacrificially saved,  made such remarkable history. Alongside of it is a portrait of her kind pastor, Dr. Russel H. Conwell, author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds"

Thanks Judy!

Now it's time to lock the door.
