Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
1 John 2:1; 20

God provides an advocate for sin and an unction [anointing] for knowledge.

God justifies us in Christ, and Christ intercedes for us daily before the throne of grace. There is no limit to God's forgiveness of sins (what a comfort!), for our Intercessor lays all on His account.

Neither is there any lack in the comfort His Spirit offers as we come to know our God through His Word.
—Tom Steere

Draw Me Nearer
(Click to hear music)

Author: Fanny J. Crosby, 1820-1915
Musician: William H. Doane, 1832-1915

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Refrain
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Refrain

O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

Refrain

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Refrain

A very god morning to all who will come here Friday morning!

another sleepless night for me....thank goodness for C.P. these early hours. Its almost 3:AM as I write this.

((((hugs)))) to you Marilyn!

Etta Sue:  same hugs go out to you and Jerry.  If he is ornery - perhaps thats a good sign that he is getting better....huh?

How far away is Jerry's hospital from your home, Etta Sue?

L....to all who come in today.

Hope I will get a chance to sleep in a bit this morning!

Good morning everyone and may God shower us with his blessings. I understand that the Thunderbirds and the Golden Knights will be at Shaw Air Force Base tomorrow. I think I may try to get a few shots. Blessings to everyone.

To the Looking Glass

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed" (James 1:23-25).

The Word of God is not a magic mirror, but if we seek real truths concerning ourselves, the Biblical looking glass can bring great blessing. He who reads or hears the word, but does not believe or obey it, is "a forgetful hearer" (v.25) who is deceiving himself. It is these who merely "behold" themselves in the word. The Greek word used here for "beholding" and "beholdeth" means "looking from a distance"-standing erect, as it were, while posing before the mirror. The man who "looketh into" the Word, on the other hand, "and continueth therein," being an obedient doer of its work, is the one who receives eternal blessing. The Greek word here for "looketh" conveys the idea of intense scrutiny, requiring the one who is looking actually to stoop down in order to see. In fact, it is often translated "stoop down."

As we allow the mirror of God's Word to evaluate and correct our lives, "we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (II Corinthians 3:18).

Yet this is only a token of what we can experience in the future. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known" (I Corinthians 13:12). Now we can see ourselves in the written Word. When we see the living Word, "we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is" (I John 3:2). HMM

Good Morning I have posted a prayer request from Shawnee. She is a member here but has not posted here for a very long time.

Fay was in a foul mood yesterday.  On Thursdays I go to her house last in the afternoon so that I do not have to drive  to Arcata and back twice in one day. Well it seems that on Thursdays Fay decides to do a whole buch of house cleaning that she should not do. Then when I get there she is in a bad mood from doing all that work. She does all the things that I usually do during the week in one day. Then tell me that I am not doing the work and she is trying to make my job easier.

She is a sweetheart though for trying to make my job easier, she knows that I have all this pain and keeps telling me to retire. If  could retire I would but I can't afford to retire. I wouldn't make it .

Thank you Judy Mc. for your compliments. I only do for others what I would want them to do for me, as the Lord tells us to do.

I will be back later, I am off this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon so I will try to get in here and post more. I do come to read andplay the games but haven't been posting as much in NEM as before.

I did check out the beautiful flower pictures posted in Challenge.  It is times like this that I really miss where I actaully hailed from - the Pacific Northwest.  At the same time, we have lovely, sunny days and beautiful mountain views and the biggest plus is that all our children are in the area.  We are where we are meant to be.

Well, here we are on this side of the continent - the place the weather starts before it moves east and gets to the rest of you.  Today it's foggy (at least at the moment).  It's not raining, though.  Most of the real storms are going north of us before heading inland.  There are some up there, though, and they will therefore be heading toward you.  But it's spring now, so I guess we can count on it  that there will be less and less storms from here on.  Besides, our Lord knows what we really need, and He is in control.

Etta Sue

I can only imagine that all the people who turned down their thermostats in Indiana, have turned them back up.  53° right now and it is 10:30 EST.  And it is predicting snow flurries and/or sleet in the morning.  Geesh!  We sure had a short spring time!!!

I know I am not posting as much on CP as before but I do try to get into NEM every day and post.  Also to welcome the new members.  I am only hoping that people are posting in areas that I don't frequent on CP.

Hello to all and may you have a wonderful, God filled day.

Janet

Yahoo!  I now have a brand new monitor!  It is so much clearer it's hard to believe--I didn't realize the other one was fading out. Darrel and I drove to Garden City and bought this one this morning.  We had a few more things to do while there, too, but are still home early.  I still have to pack a few things, so needed to get home.

I see no one missed me while I was not able to get online.  Oh, well.  We all have our priorities.  I am going away in a couple of hours to a ladies' retreat for a couple of days.  Really just tonight and tomorrow, but should be fun.

Nice to be back and on my own computer where I am comfortable with my settings and my natural keyboard.  Computers surely are habit-forming, aren't they?  Six years ago I had absolutely NO desire to get on a computer, and now when something is wrong, it's just awful.  I would accomplish a lot more if I stayed off, but I couldn't stay in touch with my friends as I like to do.

See you all when I get back home!

I agree with you Janet I feel like I would really miss my friends if I had no computer. If I stayed off more I probably wouldn't hurt so much.

Today I went to Physical Therapy and they are putting me in traction 2 days per week for 20 minutes. I will start at  10 lbs pressure and increase to 25. lbs. I have some discs that are disintegrating and pinching some nerves, that is playing havoc with my neck, back, shoulder and left arm and hand. I wasn't aware that it was so extensive until today.

On top of all that My right knee has flared up again. The old devil is sure giving me a bad time,. I sure must be doing something right for him to do this to me.

Monday it is my turn to provide a supper for my Pastor's family. We are doing this for the weekends  as along as Michele is having her Chemo treatments.

Thanks for the devotional and nice music.  Not many folks posting today, so decided to take a minute and add a little something....

Where are all the regulars posters..?  Sarah, Judy B, Chris & Margit, Alma, Iain...Papa John????
I greatly miss reading about their daily journey and think we can draw strength from one another.  Simple, ordinary days can be an encouragement to others.

I went to town with Wendy as she needed a large grocery supply for weekend company.  We certainly are not a dynamic duo these days.  Both walking in slow motion.  Got the job done tho'.  I get so annoyed when people look at the way my daughter has to walk.  Like she is retarded or something!  I hope that God keeps a record of unkind people and their malicious nature.  Not many could smile and keep a happy face with the pain she suffers....she does!

Lovely day on the island.  The garden is a joy, flowers and singing birds.  Misty doesn't go after birds now and they sort of ignore one another.

designtrade, your granny is a luck lady to have you.  I have never been big on being called Granny, so my granddaughter calls me Gramie.  Will go and check out your site when time allows.  Looks really interesting.  Have not read that book but will see if it is available at the library.  I am a voracious reader and always have books on the go.  Just finished John Grisham's latest:  The Broker.  Have almost finished Lillian Jackson Braun's latest:  The Cat Who Went Bananas.  She writes comical mysteries based on the adventures of two cats:  Koko and Yum Yum.   I also read religious material when good stuff is available.

Here is a little smile:

The Athiest and the Loch Ness Monster :

An atheist was spending a quiet day fishing when suddenly his boat was attacked by the Loch Ness monster. In one easy flip, the beast tossed him and his boat high into the air then opened its mouth to swallow both. As the man sailed head over heels, he cried out, "Oh, my God! Help me!"

At once, the ferocious attack scene froze in place and, as the atheist hung in mid-air, a booming voice came down from the clouds.

"I thought you didn't believe in Me!"

"Come on God, give me a break!," the man pleaded. "Two minutes ago I didn't believe in the Loch Ness monster either!"

Then the Atheist continues, "God, please let the Loch Ness Monster become religious."

God replies, "So be it."

The scene starts up, atheist falling.

The Loch Ness Monster folds his claws together and says, "Lord, bless this food you have so graciously provided...."

;D ;D ;D

Time to go.  Pleasant evening folks and God Bless.  (I did miss your posting, Janet)

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Pat

Janet, have a good weekend away and I got your Yahoo message but only after you had gone offline.  I'm so happy that your now have a nice new one.

Marilyn, what a lovely little sig graphic.  I really like that one.

Etta Sue, hope Jerry is a bit better.  I can't get him off my mind.

Judy, terrible to have these sleepless nights.  You and I should have got together.  I was awake listening to a CD at the time you were posting in here.

Logar, how nice to see you posting today.

Yes, Al and others mentioning the cold.  We're in for a big storm.  It's supposed to start at about midnight and is coming from Missouri.  We're supposed to get heavy rain, high winds and some wet snow.

Glad you've been enjoying the flower photos, Carol.  I have a few more to post.  Must look them up.

Well, it's time for a cup of tea and another pain med.  Then I'll be back a little later.

HAHA! thats cute!

Sue

Hello.

I have got in from a lovely dinner with my parents. We went to a Chinese buffet, and it was a special treat!

Now to call it an early night and go to bed.

Marilyn

I forgot to tell you that the whole time I was in traction today I spent in prayer and the time went by so fast.

I went to Savannah's little League game this evening. It is foggy here and the sun was shining in Blue Lake.

I have made an appointment for Happy to have a bath, toenail trim and a haircut. His skirts (fur) on the backs of his legs is getting very long  and tend toward matting if I don't brush it pretty often. His first professional grooming appt.

I miss you Janet. Where is Etta Sue this evening? Anyone heard from Papa John?

Nitey nite.
