Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional

The key to contentment is learning to expect less in this life; knowing we will receive more in the next. ~Joni Earickson Tada

FEED ON THE WORD[/b]

"Attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes."
(Proverbs 4:20-21)

Once you've made the Word of God final authority in your life, your first step to victory over the attacks of the enemy is to go to the Word and lay hold of God's promises concerning your situation.

Notice I said, "Go to the Word." It's good to have the Word committed to memory. But don't let that substitute for getting the Word before your eyes on a daily basis.

Think about it this way. It never did a hungry person any good to think about what a potato tastes like. Not even if he can remember it perfectly. The same thing is true with the Word of God. It's important to keep it in memory, but it's also necessary to go directly to it and feed your spirit with it. There is power in keeping the Word in front of your eyes and going into your ears. That's how it gets in your heart, so you can live by it.

So don't just think about the Word today, read it. Go to the promises that cover your situation. Feed on those promises and grow strong!

Good Devotion Janet, Thank you.

Such a devastating thing to happen to your grandson.

Etta Sue, I'm sure many here can feel and understand your frustration.  I care, and here's a cyber hug!

I bought new sneakers today, I spend a fair bit of time on my feet with my part-time job, and wanted something with a bit of support to them.  I spent more than I would have liked to, but got a good pair of shoes.

Now time to get off the computer and go to bed.

Night everyone.

Judy McKenna

Thought I'd just come in for a brief moment and say "Good Tuesday Morning" to all who drop by.

Yesterday we wennt to Kitchener to get our passports.  Immigration is really clamping down....we must have them by years-end.  Fortunately, we were in and out of there in 20 minutes.  It will take about 6 weeks to actually receive them.

Has anything like this happened to you, just as you were going to bed for the night?  I went and poured a large glass of orange juice, then dropped the whole thing on the floor.  What a mess!!  I wiped it up the best I could.  Today the floor will need a good washing with a mop!!

I am off to the mall this morning....we have a wedding on the 28th, so I'd like to see what I can find in a nice skirt and blouse..

"I am too blessed to be stressed".

karmat

Judy, those kind of things happen all the time at my house.  The biggest messes usually happen when I am least able to deal with them. :)

Janet, I hope Mark's hand heals quickly.  I saw the prayer request and the update at the same time last night, but I am still praying for him.

Etta -- I know it is discouraging.  Hang in there.  My prayers are for your strength and his recovery.

I hear the baby, so I gotta go.  Take care and have a good day!!

Good Morning: Thank you Janet for the devotional this morning I appreciate allt he help you give to Pat to keep this web site going.

I woke up at 3:30 am with a headache the rest of my body is without pain this morning, maybe that traction is really going to help me. Yesterday when I got up from the traction table my neck hurt  worse than it did when I laid down on it.

I was so busy yesterday that I just ignored the pain and went on. I left Versal's early to come home and do her laundry for her, then I had to deliver some  of those Emerg-en-C packets to a sister for her husband ( I had several left over from when I was sick). Then I had to go to the bank to pick up a Mortgage loan application. ( I will explain that later)

After that I had to pick up supper for the Pastor, I ate with his family and he sent me home with a whole peach cobbler and some vanilla cream pudding. He had so many desserts that's why he sent some home with me. I got back home about 6:30 and still had to fininsh Versal' s laundry so I can take it back to her today. I am sharing the Peach cobbler with Fay and Versal and still have 1/2 of it left over. but the time I finished everything for the day it was 7:45 and I was tired.

I got a letter yesterday from the city of Eureka that I am 17 on the list for some program they have for first time homebuyers. I will fill out the papers and see if I prequalify or not. I am not so sure that I want to move into the Eureka redevelopment area. I really would prefer to be here in Mckville or Arcata to be closer to my jobs and to the church. I definitely need to pray about this. Please pray  that the Lord will give me wisdom and guidance on wether or not to take this opportunity and fill out the loan papers.

Etta Sue

Thanks to all of you for your concerns and prayers for Jerry and I.  I used to think, in a vague way, those words were the same as 'Have a nice day!' or 'How are you?'  Just words.  But now that I am on the receiving end, I truly cherish each time someone says they are praying for Jerry and me.  It really makes me feel that I am not the only worldly person that is concerned.  Thank you all!

Janet, so sad to read about Mark's injury but happy that the surgeon feels he will have a full recovery.  The therapy will do wonders and some day, Mark will be a pilot of commercial planes.  What a career!

Marilyn, sorry about your headache.  Seems the traction took care of one thing and caused another.  The desserts sound wonderful.

The Lion's Club meeting was great.  Got to see some people I don't see very ofter so that was great.  When we got back home, Ivalou drove by my drive but I told her I could walk across the yard anyway.  Besides I wanted to visit her.  Well, I walked across the yard at 12:42 a.m.!!!  I love times like that!!!

Today is rainy...cool...45°F.  Tonight is our night to go to the dinner theater to see '42nd Street'!  I think there is dancing in this one and I love to watch dancing.

See ya tomorrow!!

Hi Etta Sue I am still praying for Jerry and for you. I know you must feel very sad over the whole situation with Jerry but Dear Sister you also know it is now inb God's hands and he is the Great Physician.

Got to go now.

I too pray, etta Sue.  I pray that somehow Jerry will know his Savior's near, that he will call on Him, and that he'll have peace.

Pat

Janet, I've been praying for dear Mark and wanted to let you know.  What a horrible accident.  I'm truly sorry.

Etta Sue, yes, hand in there.  I'm so sorry about Jerry.  I will continue to pray for you both.

Hello to the rest of you.  I'm having a bit of a bad day here so not staying long on the computer at all.

I'll be back.

I've been humming along with this and thought that I'd share it with you all too.

Living For Jesus

Living for Jesus a life that is true;
striving to please him in all that I do,
yielding allegiance, gladhearted and free,
this is the pathway of blessing for me.

Refrain:
O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
I give myself to thee;
for thou, in thy atonement,
didst give thyself for me;
I own no other master,
my heart shall be thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
O Christ for thee alone.

Living for Jesus who died in my place,
bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace,
such love constrains me to answer his call,
follow his leading and give him my all.

Refrain

Living for Jesus wherever I am,
doing each duty in his holy hame,
willing to suffer affliction or loss,
deeming each trial a part of my cross.

Refrain

Living for Jesus through earth's little while,
my dearest treasure, the light of his smile,
seeking the lost ones he died to redeem,
bringing the weary to find rest in him.

Refrain

Beautiful hymn Pat - you have me humming along now too! :D

Marilyn:  Hope you are able to tune in to Larry King tonight.  The topic is about "Migraine Headaches".  Larry's wife suffers with them too.

Etta Sue:  Its amazing that when we are on the receiving end of prayer....how much more it means when we know people genuinely are praying for us.  I am going over to the P & P forum now to see any updates that might be there.

Janet:  How is Beth these days?  I was sorry to read of Mark's injury.

Larry:  How are you and Pat doing these days?

Marilyn:  You were posting the same time as I was.... I will be praying about your housing situation., that you will have a distinct answer as to where you should live.

I'm missing Papa John.....has anyone heard from him?

I gather he is now home from Florida.

Judy I don't have the full cable on the most basic cable so I don't get Larry King.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I got up this morning feeling like my normal self and have had a very nice day.  Pat is also doing well.  As other have expressed here today, I also am most appreciative of the prayers that I know are being offered on our behalf just as I pray for all of my CP friends who are suffering or have special needs.

Janet, sure sorry to hear of the accident experienced by Mark but it sounds encouraging that the surgery was successful.  So now it is a matter of the passage of time and then physical therapy.  Hope you all have a good trip today and both Darrell and Beth get the results that they are seeking.

Liz, sorry to see that you are suffering so.  I had to laugh when you wrote the cats weren't allowed on the tables.  Unless your cats are quite different than ours they really don't much care what rules we set for them as they do just what they want to do.  Cats also like to be on the high places.

Marilyn, hope you are feeling better.  That sounds like quite a meal you provided for your pastor and his family.  Glad you were able to share the meal with them and then had something to share with your ladies.

Judy, do you need passports to enter the USA now.  It sounds like we are all going to have to have them if we cross into each other's country.  I have never held a passport and don't anticipate visiting in another country so won't bother to get one anytime soon.  I can image how difficult it is to clean up orange juice since that contains so much sugar.

Pat, sorry to see you are having a not very good day today.  Hope tomorrow finds you better.

Etta Sue, it seems that Jerry is on a roll a coaster and know it is very difficult for you to see him as he is.  Even if he didn't realize you were there your visit wasn't wasted as you know he would really appreciate it.  Glad you had such a nice event last night and the play sounds like a lot of fun tonight.

Ruth Ann, I am convinced that you are working too hard and too long hours each day.  I think a person in perfect health would have a hard time standing up to that pressure and schedule.  I sure hope your bosses realize what an asset they have in you.

This day is about over so guess I had better do some other reading and then retire for the night.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

my goodness! I slept late this morning! I scooted through the rain to work and sorta quietly got to my office almost 45 minutes late. Oh, well, I surely must have needed the rest.

I cannot be on the computer long tonight - need to "get my beauty sleep."

I learn Friday about my weight loss. However, I'm certain it's continuing - I have worn two tops that have not fit for quite some time recently. That's a good feeling.

Y'all have a good evening. I pray that we can all rest our pain and our worries, our cares and our problems with our Comforter tonight.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hi Everyone...

It's teeming with rain here in Guelph.  I just put the dog out but I bet he won't stay out long.

A friend came and picked me up (as I can't drive too easily) and we had a Neighbourhood Community Group meeting here and I'm just home.  I have the kettle on and I'm going to enjoy a nice cup of green tea.

Anyone like a cup with me?

Time to lock the door on yet another day.  I pray that you all have good nights.  If you can't sleep, lots of time to pray for others.
