JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

"We must read our Bibles
like men digging for hidden treasure."

~J. C. Ryle~

Morning Devotional...

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Philippians 2:4

This text is the key to the theme of the chapter--life is not self but
others.

The perfect example is the Lord Himself. If He had looked only on
His own things, He never would have come down to meet the need of lost sinners.

And truly His was a coming down, down to death, even the death of
the cross (v. 8) and through that sacrificial work to  bring about the
forgiveness of sins to all of us.

The lesson is there for us: to live not for self, but for others.
--Reg. L. Jordan

Make Me A Channel Of Blessing

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God were pleading through us:
we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20

Words and Music: Harper G. Smyth, 1903.

Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying,
The Savior Who died on the cross?

Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the Word of salvation
To those who are dying in sin?

We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from known sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.

Hi everyone.  It looks like I am going to be among the first to post this morning.  This being Friday morning I had to get up early as must open the seniorcenter and get the coffee started and cups, sugar and creamer setout before the men arrive.  It is an easy job but a responsibility.  Fortunately others usually do the cleanup, which takes about 5 minutes if that.

I have to go for a routine appointment with my cancer doctor this morning and will get the results of my last psa test.  The worst part is the hours drive over to his office on the Atlanta Interstates.

I had a busy day yesterday and yesterday evening I bit the bullet and reinstalled Windows XP, Service Pack 2 and the security updates from Microsoft.  I also had to uninstall and reinstall my sound card software.  It was a delightful noise when I had to reboot to hear that shutdown computer sound and this morning as listening to music as I write.  I think this solved the problems I had been having since cloning my old hard disk and should have all my system files back in good shape.  This was the first time I have done a reinstall without reformatting and totally starting over.  Fortunately it didn't affect any of my programs that I am aware of.  Now to deal with my networking problems and some problems I seem to be having with my router, which also affects my phone system.

This is suppose to be a glorious day today that God has provided us here in Georiga and I am looking forward to the sun coming up.

JudyB, so sad about your daughter's friend getting killed and so senselessly.  Walking on active railroad tracks sounds like a very bad idea.  These things affect young people very significantly because it makes them consider their own life and the issue of death.

Liz, that is such unpleasant news for your daughter and your entire family.  Don't give up hope as she needs positive people around her I am sure.

Welcome to our new members.  I saw notices of two new members yesterday although I believe one was a reregistration as I remembered the name.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ritz

Thank you Jesus for "Coming down." Thank you Pat for reminding us with that great devotional!

Well, I think our colds are gradually letting up.  Hopefully we'll soon be free of them.  Tonight we have our monthly "staff-and-wives" meeting.  The staff (elders, pastor, and one licentiate) get together, have a bar-b-que, and discuss things upon which we want the women's input as well.  We are praying that the church will be renewed and blessed much in coming days.

Meanwhile, it looks like the weather is indeed changing - no rain at all forecast for the next 5/6 days.  But I thank our Father for the rain as well as the sun - it's all from His wonderful hands.  Blessings, everybody!  God make His presence known to you all day.

Liz - nice to see your posting.  With every cross, God gives strengthened shoulders to bear them.

Marilyn

Good Morning to everyone.

Thanks Pat for the devotional this morning. Hey Al you are really here this morning, good to see you posting so early.

Not much planned for today, I am just being joyful int he Lord  thanking Him for  just about everything I can think of  and expressing my love for Him.

Going to both Fay's and Leroy's today.  But not much to do at either place, I do have to do some cleaning at Leroy's but his place is so small it only takes about an hour to do the whole house.

I will that the dogs out for their walkies this afternoon.

Thank you, one and all, for the kind words about the devotion yesterday.  I never tire of the way Jesus worked while on earth as a human being the same as me.

The Dietician was helpful yesterday.  You would think that if one has high glucose that you would cut out the complex carbs but no.  I am still to have carbs...in fact, more than I usually had with meals...throughout the day evenly.  And more protein!  So essentially, I will eat what is on their list and give up all the junk food and candies and sweets.  Oh, I can have them but in moderation.  Getting on the scales yesterday morning and this morning, I found I was two pounds less!  That's called MOTIVATION!

Not much planned for today.  I did my 20 minutes of stretching exercises for my back....now to find time and a place to walk as long as I can up to a half hour.  The Dietician wants me walking a half hour three times a week.  Also my Bone Density test showed slight deteriation and walking will help that.  So walk, walk, walk for your health!!

Can you believe April is almost over?  And 2006 is a third over?

:) Again this has been another beautiful day with a beautiful Saturday & Sunday is to follow.

My Question might seem silly but if we want to copy the devotional to read at a later time.   How is it done.   I have been doing a copy and paste to a new document but is that really how y'll do it ???

I picked up my Aunt and took her shopping thenthe fun -  we went to a little restaurant for lunch this is something that she looks forward to.

Now I must go and get dinner for the two of us.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Pat

Ruth, that's how I'd do it.  I'd just paste it into Word or even a blank email and then print it.

How are you?  It was a lovely day here in Guelph too today.

I am feeling good. Today was payday - one of the enclosures  says that there is a lot of changes come September.

As the Deer Panteth for the Water
(Click to hear music)

Written by Martin Nystrom

Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.
