JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

They did not receive Him.
Luke 9:53
Martha received Him into her house.
Luke 10:38
Mary. . . sat at Jesus' feet, and heard His word.
Luke 10:39

The Samaritans did not receive Christ because He planned to go to detested Jerusalem. They missed the Lord altogether.

Martha welcomed Him to her home but, preoccupied by the pressures of the moment, missed what He had to say.

Mary sat at His feet, transfixed by Him. No wonder that it was she who with abandon anointed His feet with very costly perfume.

How much do we appreciate the Lord Jesus Christ?
--David Logan

Taken up with Thee, Lord Jesus, I would be;
Finding joy and satisfaction all in Thee.

Well I just missed it the door was locked so it isn't midnight yet here but I will say good morning anyway. I wanted to thank you all for praying for me and my family. Our grandson and girlfriend are in good hands and doing well. The one who needs prayer now is the driver and his family. We pray this will bring him to Jesus.  I have caught up tonight with all the wonderful songs and thoughts. I had two comments on my heart, first I remember praying for Morris long time ago with I was on another prayer group so I say great praises.  We have family and children not there yet so we just keep on praying. Problem for Ces and I we have so many now sometimes we have to just say pray for so and so's children. That age thing creeping in.     The other thought is having been in several denominations and met a few frozen chosen, ha.  there you are a chuckle.  I do believe that when you dance for Jesus it has to come from deep inside to be real. That is when it touches heaven as David did. I love Praise and worship however and many of our churches here have begone to lift up their hands and hearts and really worship. For that I am grateful. I will say one thing it is hard to fall asleep when there is alot of praise and worship going on. Main thing is to love Jesus with your whole heart.  My you all are so fantastic with all the things you put on.  I hope I find time to play with the buttons up top. Is there somewhere that explains them all.  I have two computer geeks as kids but it wasn't passed on to me. Ha lov AliceW.

Little Becky cat died last night...She haemhorraged again and was sick, then she went into a deep sleep.

Thank-you for thinking of her.

Maria and Marilyn thank-you for your prayers..

Thanks, Pat - for the clickable to CP once again.  We have a new laptop - had to send a non-working one back and still no refund so now we have to talk with an attorney as no one has been helping us.

Loved your song and I could really hear it well.  I am smiling at Larry writing about "Dancing in the aisle" and do recall way back in the 70's when the wife of assistant pastor did an interpretive dance for us (Lutheran) and at first I thought she was ill perhaps.  It was lovely and a group of girls did dance fairly regularly but usually this isn't something we see.

We have been attending a service in a mobile home park in Arizona for two months and attendance is from 500 to 700 people - the pastor has his own church down the road & it is called "Christian" which I don't know what that means exactly as aren't we all Christians here?  Excellent speaker and especially great and lively songs.  They do not have a church building so a big collection is given for college scholarships for teens in the area and it was wonderful to hear the recipients talk about what going to college has meant to them and their families.  Of course, a missionary family is supported and he is a member of MAF - a pilot who is now in an African country.

Now we are back home and this is Holy Week so we have services Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Saturday night as well as our ressurection day!  The entire story of Easter is told on these special days and choir has been practicing as well as musicians - heavy week for the two pastors.

Much to pray about these days.  A friend's son is partially paralized from skiing accident - one of our sons and his wife both are concerned about jobs - health concerns for friends and so forth. Most of all, continuing to pray for our troops.

Jenny:  Sorry for the loss of your pet.  It is always difficult to lose a loving pet.

I am so far behind with CP - please forgive.  Carol

Alice, good to have you here!

Carol, good to read your post, too.

Hi there, Pat!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone.  Been a strange morning Internet wise as it said I was connected to a site but it wouldn't load.  Also couldn't get my e-mail.  I called the ISP and was advised they had a problem in the Atlanta area and it would be fixed before long.  The service was unavailable for at least 3 hours that i know about and I don't know how early it stopped working.  All seems to be fine now.  (Whoops--Right after I hit the send button I saw the Internet wasn't responding again so quickly hit Control A to select what I had written and Control C to save a copy on the clipboard.  It was just in time as I then got the page cannot be found screen.  So here is what I tried to send awhile ago.)

Ria, in the Internet Explorer you will find in the "View" menu a "Text Size" item and you might be able to make the screen print larger if you set that at "Largest".  Hope your headache goes away soon.

Carol, I grew up in the Disciples of Christ church, which was called the Christian church.  I never heard it referred to as anything but the Christian church until I was an adult.  Of course, in our small town we had only two churches, the Christian and the Methodist.

Etta Sue, glad to see you are home safe and sound.  It sounds like you had a wonderful trip and I did miss your presence here.  Don't know whether we can let you go away again or not!   ;D

Jenny, sorry to hear that you lost your cat.  We have a house cat and I know when his time comes we will be very saddened.  He has given us a lot of laughs as well as a lot of frowns!

Alice and Jeanne, I hope I haven't given the wrong impression as was just poking a little fun at we Presbyterians.  We are not frozen and we have some very loving and caring people in our congregation.  Our youth minister is going to see to it that we aren't frozen.   :D :D

JudyB, I am sure those robins are a welcome sight after the long winter.

I just set up an appointment for Friday afternoon to have someone come to the house from a chair lift company to see if it is feasible to put one in up to our daughter's room.  She doesn't need it at this moment but it appears that she may before too long.  We are also considering how to make one of our bathrooms handicap accessible, which isn't going to be easy.  We are also looking into the possibility of adding another bedroom and handicapped bath onto the back of our house but this will probably be a last resort as don't want to take on a mortgage but may have to do so.

Pat is at her painting class this morning and then later this afternoon we plan to go out to eat with our friends.  They are planning to go to their new place in Florida on Monday to spend a month.  They just took possession a few weeks ago and are anxious to spend some time there.

Pat, a very fine devotional.  Short and to the point.

Maria

LARRY thank you very much for your advice.

                    GOD FORGIVES

Prayer: Just Wait on God

But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence
before Him.
--Habakkuk 2:20

I think we are the busiest bunch of eager beavers ever seen in the
religious world. The idea seems to be that if we are not running in
a circle, breathing down the back of our own neck, we are not
pleasing God!

When Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature" (Mark 16:15 KJV), Peter probably leaped to his
feet and, no doubt, scooped up his hat on the way out. He was
going to go right then!

But the Lord said, "Peter, come back, and 'stay in the city until
you have been clothed with power from on high' (Luke 24:49)."

I heard a Christian leader warn recently that we are suffering
from a rash of amateurism in Christian circles. Christianity has
leveled down and down and down. We are as light as butterflies--
though we flit, flit, flit around in the sunshine and imagine that
we are eagles flapping our broad wings.

Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call
a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God
to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did
before Pentecost.  The Counselor, 95.

"Lord, this morning I'll stop for a while at least to 'just wait
on God.' I know You're wanting to work, and I for one am willing
to wait this morning to hear Your voice and discover what You
want to do for me today. Amen."

I am very sorry that some of you are having difficulty with the size of the font on the site.

I've been trying and trying to change it and I seem to be changing everything but the size of the messages!

Have you gone up to the VIEW/TEXT SIZE in this browser and changed that?  I have mine set to MEDIUM and it's very large.  If I put it any larger in my browser then the font is really too large for me.

But please try that.

Also, I would like to see everyone add some space to their messages when posting long paragraphs.  For people with bad eyesight, it's difficult to read to the end of a line and then position the site again at the beginning of the next line and in long paragraphs, this is truly a terrible experience.

So even if it isn't the right place for a new paragraph to begin, click on the "ENTER" key twice to insert a blank line of space ever 2 or 3 lines.  This should also help.

I am home from work now and have put Bea's laundry in my washer. I do her laundry here it is easier than running back and forth to the laundry room in her apartment complex.

I have been over to Gilbert's house to cut a couple of bunches of Lavender to make some sachets, and use the stems for burning like incense. I have them hanging upside down to dry.

I am about to start a small lap size quilt for Bea to cover her legs. Have about 1 yard of hem to stitch down on the other quilt.

Another thing that might be causing some to see small font size is the resolution that their computer is set to.

If you RIGHT click on your desktop, and go to PROPERTIES and then SETTINGS, see if you have your setting at 800 x 600.  If you have it at a higher number, it makes all of the text small.

Hi Ursula...

I've been collecting midi files for years.  We used to use a lot of them on SeniorNet in our little Manna For the Soul discussion there through the years and I'm still collecting them.  Most modern songs used in churches today are copyrighted so we can't use them but most of the old hymns have midi files on the internet that are in the public domain.

I've created a folder on Christian Photographers for those and Larry and I have a little area where we have all of the coding done so that it's just a matter of copying and pasting when we hear that someone would like a specific one.

Hope this helps!

As far as the font size is concerned...  I think that I'm not going to be able to be concerned much more about this.  I've spent hours and hours trying to figure it out.  I think that we'll have to have people get the text enlarged on their web browsers by going to "View/Text/Size"

Hi Alice, good to see you posting.   There is a coincidence with your post.  You see, my mother's name was Alice Morris.   Morris is my maiden name.   I was intrigued to see both those names in your post.   My mother and Pat's mother were sisters.  Pat's mother was Doris.   You don't have a Doris in your family do you?  HAHAHA  I will continue to pray for Morris.

Well I'm on my way to EE (stands for Evangelism Explosion) and my team and I go out every Tuesday witnessing and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.  I will check in later when I get back around 10:00 p.m.   God Bless

I agree with you Chris.   It is important to "wait on God" so He can fill us.   How can we give out if we don't take in.  I know life is SO busy.   It is hard sometimes to just slow down and then when we do, we feel guilty.    Thank you for the devotional.

Thank you Pat for that wonderful song "I worship You"  Love it.  God Bless

Talk to you later, Ruthie...  I'll be praying for you as you go out with your team this evening.

Yes, we're all praying for Nita's brother, Morris.  It's just such wonderful news of his conversion.

Well finally I am hoping for success with fixing my computer problem, I am downloading a service pack from Dell that is supposed to fix the problem. The download takes 3 1/2 hours. whew!!

It sure has been quiet in here lately. I'm missing Judyb's posts, Lee, Rachelle, Janice, Sarah to name only a few. Hey you guys where are you???????

I also found out that the reason I couldn't post to my website was that my payment was due, so that has been paid and now I will be able to post some photos of Forest's Birthday party.
