Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Jesus Warns about Troubles
Luke 12:49-59  NLT

49"I have come to bring fire to the earth, and I wish that my task were already completed! 50There is a terrible baptism ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. 51Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to bring strife and division! 52From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against--or the other way around. 53There will be a division between father and son, mother and daughter, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law."

54Then Jesus turned to the crowd and said, "When you see clouds beginning to form in the west, you say, `Here comes a shower.' And you are right. 55When the south wind blows, you say, `Today will be a scorcher.' And it is. 56You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but you can't interpret these present times.

57"Why can't you decide for yourselves what is right? 58If you are on the way to court and you meet your accuser, try to settle the matter before it reaches the judge, or you may be sentenced and handed over to an officer and thrown in jail. 59And if that happens, you won't be free again until you have paid the last penny."

What examples have you seen of the problems Jesus mentions?

In these strange and unsettling words, Jesus revealed that his coming often results in conflict.  He demands a response, and close groups can be torn apart when some choose to follow him and others refuse to do so.

There is no middle ground with Jesus.

Loyalties must be declared and commitments made, sometimes to the severing of other relationships.  Life is easiest when a family unitedly believes in Christ, of course; but this often does not happen.

Are you willing to risk your family's approval in order to gain eternal life?

Some of you were mentioning car repairs.  It cost Ivalou $238 for a seat belt replacement!!  Any more the dealerships don't repair...they replace and it is always new...never something from a junk yard like a few years back.  Ivalou said that seat belt probably hasn't been used a dozen times and it wouldn't pull out anymore.  If it was mine, I probably wouldn't have fixed it.   :-\

Judy Mc ~ Ali seems to be A-okay now.  I didn't take her back to the vet for a urinary analysis...she wouldn't go into the carrier.  She hates the car...cries constantly and usually messes the carrier.  My friend brought me a bigger carrier but from what I scoop out of the litter box, Ali and Inky's water pipes are fine   They sure drink a lot of water with this new food they are eating.  Hope that wasn't too much information!  How is Rags?

After getting Ivalou's seat belt fixed we went to the Pizza Shack in Tipton, Indiana.  It used to be a railroad depot so it has a railroad theme inside.  They have salad and pizza buffets and the hot and cold buffets were fashioned like railroad cars.  And there was a lot of railroad memorabilia on the walls.  Great salad, pizza and spaghetti with your drink for a moderate cost.

Thank you for this mornings devotional Etta Sue!  I have brothers who don't want to hear about the Lord, but I have it easy.  At leat they will still acknowledge me.  I know folks with brothers and sisters who have stopped communication with them because they accepted Christ.  So sad!  I pray that eveyone has a wonderful day.  Hard to believe that August 2006 is just about history!  Lord bless,  Ray

OHENRY:  Another piece of info to your post on the burning of Rome.  I heard the same thing yesterday on a christian radio program.

It was thought that Peter & Paul were two of those persecuted during that time.  Later Constantine declared the Christian Religion t.b. the official religion.  No period, just a comma

Billy Graham's wife Ruth was born and raised in China.  Her father a missionary there.  They were forced to leave.  Years later when Ruth & Billy were invited to China she went to the village where she was born.  She feared that the people would have left christiantiy because of the persecution.  She figured that believers would not be many.

To her pleasant surprise...instead of dying christiantiy was flourishing and multiplying.  Instead of slowing passing away, the church was bigger and still living the faith.

Satan's plans were demolished.  God's plans were growing.

God says "Never put a period where I have put a comma."

Ed, I listened to the same program....I forget who the speaker was though.

We should never look for loopholes in God's word.  God doesn't say one thing and mean for us to find exceptions to His Word because it doesn't sit right with us.  Yet, we seem to have an uncanny knack for finding loopholes and escape clauses to the Word anytime we think it will benefit us.  When sin comes knocking at our door, do we stand firm in our faith or do we look for a loophole?  If He was willing to die a horrific death on the cross for me, how can I justify not suffering for Him because it's more convenient to bend to the will of man and submit to my earthly desires?    An impossible task without Him!

Hi everyone.

I have had a much quieter day although my good friend Rod and I went to Fry's and MicroCenter after coffee this morning to get door prizes for our computer user group meeting next week.  While I was at MicroCenter I got a trackball mouse thinking that it might help Pat's hands.  However, she tried it and didn't think it would help and likes her wireless mouse so guess who gets a new mouse.  It is ideal for my laptop since you don't move the mouse around, just the trackball and it doesn't need a lot of room.  I installed it on the laptop so it is ready to go.

Came home, ate lunch and rested for awhile.  I have somewhere I am planning on going this evening but it will only take about 2 hours.  It has been dark and looked like it was going to rain today but so far it is still dry.  The lawn company put fertilizer on our yard today so hope we do get some rain this evening.

Etta Sue, the Scripture verses you quoted surely don't pull any punches.  It was a good devotional message for today.  Not surprised at the cost that Ivalou encountered as anytime you go to a dealer now it is very expensive.    Fortunately on the Hyundai Accent I bought last year it has a 10 year warranty so shouldn't have any major expenses.  I think the most expensive will be to replace the timing belt when it gets 60,000 miles but that will be several years down the road.

Ray, Ed, Ohenry and Marilyn glad you posted today.  I hope many of our other CP friends drop by and post today.

Janet

I came in and read the posts this morning, guess I got sidetracked when I went to the gallery to look at photos and  forgot to post myself.

It has been a busy, frustrating day, and I am tired.  I have some things troubling me, and need to go have a visit with my Father.

I hope you all have a nice evening.

Those of you who I didn't send it to  and if you want it email me and I will forward the links to you. All you have to do is click on the links and it starts to download. I think so of the newer people would like to have it.

I could post the links here if that would be OK with Pat.

Ed, I've been meaning to ask about your avatar.  You?  If so, what year was this taken?

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

It's a bit cool here in Nashville, so cold-natured Ruth Ann had a little bit of heat turned on in the truck coming home this evening.

I enjoy starting at the top of each daily chat session and r4eading all, even going back to see what I missed from the previous day's readings.

Imagine how much I'll need to catch up on after next week. I have to go to Ohio for a business trip that will last all week long. Must be at the airport at 6 am on Tuesday morning and not return until after dinnertime on Friday evening.

Hope I get lots done while there, but will not have access to personal email or the internet while there.

Y'all have a good evneing.

Hi folks...

I've had a very, very busy day.  I'm not that long in. Had to take Kathleen to register for school and various other appointments.  Just so long that I think I'll get to bed.

So good reading the posts in here today.  I was very blessed.

Thanks so much folks.

I'm off to post the new New Every Morning.

Oh, Marilyn, I think that the PSP is only good for 60 days.  To get it to last longer than 60 days, you pay 66.00 Can.  (Not sure what it would be US)

It would be a good beginning though for those who might be interested in purchasing it.  I use PSP10 so I already have it.
